Man even though I won’t be getting this particular thermal camera your review is how all reviews should be. Not only straight to the point but your way of delivering it is great and you have a very pleasant face/character to watch.
For the price, this thing is ridiculously useful at spotting deer in forest via their heat signature. You don't need super high resolution to see a large quadruped moving in the brush. You can then confirm ID with binos or your rifle scope. Also very useful to find the animal if it gets a bit of a run on after being shot.
Use this in conjunction with my Pard 007, excellent for quick spotting with thermal, then follow up with Pard. Excellent review, un biased and straight to the point.
Thank you very much for your independent review! I'm orientating which one suits my needs and there's a lot of them to choose from. Looking for a budget model this one came to my attention. I'm surprised to see the i/r clarity is quit poor, the thermal image of you consists of a lot of lines acutally. Therefore I think I'll forget buying a thermal monocular because it takes more money to buy something good than I'm willing to pay for at this moment. Good reiew!!
I have the LC06 slaved to the Pard 007, use the thermal to get onto target then the Pard to identify, as long as the heat source is in the middle of the thermal screen, when I wake my Pard the crosshairs are bang on, both have crosshairs so it's pretty easy to set up. Great review.👍
Bit late to the party but the solution to pairing the phone and app to the Thermal monocular is to turn OFF WIFI (I read it somewhere on another review). I've personally just bought the Hikvision L06, its the entry level budget model and is normally £369-390+ new but managed to get one from eBay for £255 posted. I know its not perfect but its good enough for what I need it for and used in conjunction with my Gen 2+ Night monocular should make watching animals in the woods/forest an interesting experience. I already have an Seek thermal Reveal Pro FF (won from eBay for £262) but wanted to try an thermal with an eyepiece instead and maybe mount it to an Dual binocular J-arm alongside my Night scope. Some people might think its pointless having an thermal that cannot show detailed "images" at under 100m but if you use the thermal in pitch darkness where you cannot even see your hand in front of your face then sub 100m range for an thermal monocular is fine and that's why even the LC06 is good enough. If you want an thermal spotter for hunting and seeing prey out to 500m then you better be prepared to pay £2500 second hand or £4-5000 new as knowing the blob you're looking at at 300m is a deer etc and not a person on all fours in a gimp suit is probably pretty important to you as a hunter.
You always - always - need to assume gimp first and deer second. Thanks for the additional information on the wifi - I am going to try that next time I get my hands on one.
Great for the price but it just looks awkwardly out of focus at what should be really straightforward ranges for a device like this. I would find this lack of manual focus really frustrating if they're all locked slightly out of focus right out the box.
not LH15 and not LE15. those are different monoculars. it's older 17 micron Pixel version L15/H15, IT Has higher FOV (24 deg) and big resolution detector 384x288 pixels
Hello! I hate to be one of them self promoter guys but I've been making me some content and I'd like to hear your opinions! I'm new to video making but I try my best! I love your content and you are truly underrated.
They're different devices, hik is thermal for detecting heat sources and pard is nv for viewing, youd have to have a very expensive thermal to give anywhere near picture quality of even a cheap nv unit

Nobody has ever said that last line about me before...

This is exactly what id use it for, spotting that "something" is there. Usually I can use other factors as well to realize what it is.
