  • In this video I set up the Mathews Lift 29.5 and tune it. I had to switch top hats. After a broke rest I was able to get this thing shooting bullet holes. The accessories I chose for this build are HHA Tetra Max X3, QAD, and Mathews quiver and stabilizers. I hope this bow build will help you with your bow build. Thanks for watching!

Hey what length stabilizer are you using?

I’m interested in what happened to the rest? I have a new bow ordered and was planning on using the new qad rest.

I don’t know if it’s very common but sometimes it wouldn’t drop away. Compared to the one that worked properly it’s like something internally was sticking. Just moving the rest up and down wasn’t as smooth as it should be. I know it’s a popular rest so hopefully i just got a bad one and most work well. I haven’t had any issues with other qads.

I’ve experienced some timing issues with one of my qad rests. Once I ditched the football clamp and tied into the proper cable it worked great. Although I do worry about inner mechanisms failing. I also agree that its difficult to move the rest up and down on the dovetail mount but I tell myself that’s good machining tolerances. Btw great video

That’s usually the way I install them but figured I’d try the clamp. On the next build I bought a different clamp so I’ll try that. I’ll probably end up switching the football clamp out but we will see.

Weird way to tie in a peep. 🤔

I thought the same thing when I first saw a peep tied in this way. I don’t think it’s as quick as other ways but it does hold it in a place.

@thehiddenoutdoors6535 I always do the solid serving top and bottom, and spiral around the sides.

    You didn’t tune it!

I didn’t show it but it was timed well already. There’s a lot of micro adjustments that can be done that I didn’t show or do in this video.

@@thehiddenoutdoors6535 what? Timing and tuning are 2 different things! There is no way of knowing how close your bow is tuned unless you shoot through paper to see. You can then switch your top hats out to take away big paper tears and micro adjust your rest to get a bullet hole. That’s a tune! Then you can broadhead tune after that. That’s a tune! Timing is when you have the top and bottom cam hitting at the same time. You posted your video showed a tune. It did not.

In the video I showed switching the top hats and shooting through paper. No I didn’t show switching out the top hats in detail and showing matching them up and why to shim the cam left or right. This video was already longer than I wanted it to be. To show all of it would have been a long video. As I switched them out several times.
