I absolutely loved the Haibane Renmei story, and the purgatory world it existed in. I consider it the best Anime series ever, out of 75 or more I've watched in all. It is a beautiful story, it unfolds slowly and it allows the viewer to make their own discoveries about what is really going on for themselves. Thank you.
I just finished watching Haibane Renmei today. I find it interesting how Yoshitoshi Abe was able to create this story based on personal experiences. There were parts and characters I was able to relate to.
I love Haibane Renmei, its world setting just so lively and charming, the characters Abe sensei depicted all so kind and with a heart. Its music also the best of best. Especially that classic OP freed bird instrumental version. It's just so unique and memorable. Really want to learn more after-story of what happen to Rakka and those twins haibane buds Rakka found and what's outside of the walls and why human cannot leave and what happen to Rekki's friends in old factory and where all ascended haibane went. It's just so fascinating and heartwarming after finish all episodes. My favorite part is when Rakka and Nemuri co-wrote their imaginary world origin book in the end part of episode 5. Thank you Abe senesie for creating this masterpiece.
