Just heard today that he passed. He may never have been a huge star, but he shined in everything he did. And always put a smile on your face. RIP Sir. And Thank You.

Grew up watching Michael J. Pollard as he appeared in Westerns..Star Trek... lots of other stuff. He always played a strange...odd... guy perfectly. No one played the weird guy better than Michael. He really added spice to whatever he was cast in. Rest in peace Michael.

I've watched him for years too. I first saw him on the Andy Griffith show when I was a kid. I was just thinking that he usually played the awkward introvert but like you said the odd guy. I'm trying to remember what did he play on Star Trek? Was it the original show or next generation?

@@crystalheart9 He was on the original show and was cast in the episode "Miri" in which he played a weird teen as a leader of the children on that earth-like planet. He was perfect for the part. Here is a link to a clip of that episode. Pollard at his best. 1966 ua-cam.com/video/Rm6gjQBwPFM/v-deo.html

Great interview Alison..Saw the movie when it first came out in 1968 as I was a Wave in Navy stationed down in Long Beach. I also have the movie on dvd too. Michael seems so shy. Thanks so much for the video.!

Edie Koller I saw the movie a rerun on TV sometime in 1980s. She made such an impact especially of course the story of his character. For many years I talked about him and would ask people randomly if they knew who I was talking about. No one ever did. And I believe there were several or at least more than one Bonnie and Clyde movie made. And I just never found it. I'm thrilled to finally know his name because that's what I would ask people and they had no idea. Now that I know his name and this Bonnie and Clyde initially debuted in 1967 I think you said? I'm going to check Amazon 2 see if I can get a copy. I'm so happy to see that there is someone else that's a fan of his as well. Freak so many years I felt alone that I was the only one that appreciated this man and his character. And it's crazy that nobody remembered or new of the movie. I was born in 1968 so of course I saw it in the reruns and my friends Would have had to catch it and reruns as well. Anyhow I'm rambling because I'm excited

I agree totally...plus he was probably put off by being in front of a big live audience...he was going to say something that sounded like it would have been a good story, but he got cut off.....lots of actors are actually very shy...he was still great to see, and he was fun...I would have loved to meet him in person that night.

Alison, that is just surreal, awesome interview. Word is that Michael has been homeless or something like that, so how you found him is a wonder, I bet there is a story behind that. Warren probably really was wondering what happened to his old bud. Great interview, but seriously, surreal. Oddly, I don't think he's changed much aside from his appearance while everyone else is so different. Oh, you look fab as Bonnie, too.

John Runion Sensitive topic. Alison deserves credit for what she did. I think Warren Beatty was honestly surprised he turned up. Nice that he hasn't forgotten his old bud.

***** MJP isn't homeless. He's lived over by the Farmers Market since 1984. But he doesn't drive, so he walks EVERYWHERE and people assume he is homeless. I just hope he watches where he's going when he's walking aimlessly though!
