Yes! Our table allows pretty much anything besides like cheesey turn 1-3 win. DC+TO ext, and mass land dustruction is kinda frowned upon. Other than that its border line cedh. We enjoy it 😁

Personally, regular counter spell to me is better. It doesn’t aggro other players to target you next and instead makes you the table hero for what you countered. Plus regular counterspell is way more affordable. I think more players lose after casting mana drain than players who just counter spell.
