They are very common in the fish breeding business. I got these from Aquasabi and they are great for keeping tiny fry in a small space so I can spot feed them until they grow big enough. You can hang a couple of these in an aquarium with a heater so you don't need to heat each box separately. The only downside is you need to have it connected to an air pump to have a constant supply of fresh water.
@@IMaqua the quality on these is exceptional. I see a lot of cheap ones getting around and they look like total garbage compared to these. Also I just wanted to mention I appreciate that everything you do is very clean and organised. A lot of breeding set-ups look like a total disaster. Obviously aged tanks are important but I'm talking everything else 😊
I know what you are talking about. I will do a Pygmy Corydoras breeding setup soon that will be "dirty" with a lot of leaf litter, moss, etc. Mature tanks are fine and are good for fry. These boxes are amazing, you can hang them on an aquarium, drop two pairs of CPDs. You pull them out of there the next day and all the eggs remain in there to hatch.
@@IMaqua the pygmy Cory one is one I'm really looking forward too I've breed plenty of cpds but pygmys are one of my favs and I would love a big school zooming around a tank.
I am at 60 CPDs now. Would love to have at least a hundred. They are the best. In summer they took a breeding break (too hot) but started breeding a couple of days ago.
10/10 for use of Tidal filter :) Protip: if you keep the bottom of the fry tanks clear glass you can paint the bottoms white and you will see everything more clearly.
Thank you so much! This is really interesting and I appreciate your explanations of each step! I’ve never even heard of breeding boxes So I am super excited to see what happens next! How long will it take until we have eggs? I’m so impatient😂 I’m just really excited for you!
First I need to make a couple of breeding setups for the fish I will breed and hopefully then I get the eggs from them. There will be a lot of tiny fry soon....
Very interesting to see. Good luck to you. 👍 I had Cory pygmy eggs (at least, I think so), but they started to disappear over the course of a week, and now I am not sure anything hatched at all. I mean, how tiny would they be? I guess the Guppies stopped ignoring the eggs and ate the lot. Oh well.
When Pygmy Corydoras hatch they are really really tiny. I will show it in one of the future videos. If you have Guppies in an aquarium together with them; you answered your own question. If you want fry to survive pull the guppies out of there.
@@IMaqua Yup. Maybe next time. That said, the 3 Otocinclus I accidentally bred several months ago are still alive and kicking. They grow slowly, but they're looking good and healthy. 😅
Haha. Maybe. But I was told The Netherlands forbids sending fish and shrimp in the mail. They'll make an exception for snails, I think, but it's still at your own risk. Plus, postage in The Netherlands can be absolutely terrible; I once had to wait a week for plants to be delivered. The plants survived for the most part, but I don't think fish would have been so lucky...

One billion tiny little fish fry.
I have the same bonsai scooper lol.
Looks like it is very popular.
Thanks for teaching me the name of that "funny looking cup for soil". I just called it like that for the last 2 years.

I think the post is same everywhere. I don't remember when I got something from them on time here in Croatia. I avoid them if possible...
