Thank you so much for supporting me this year-it means the world to me! 🤝🙂 There’s one more video coming today, and then I’ll be taking a short break. I’ll see you in 2025 with videos covering new GPUs from NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 🎄
I play with an RTX4070 OC that i bought almost day one. I play mostly in 1440p and even if i think it should handle well 2025 games on that resolution, i regret a bit not to have waited a bit longer for it's "SUPER" version though. The 10+ more FPS compared to the 4070 shall make a difference in the next 3 years with high-demanding games.
I have a ryzen 5 7600x and a rtx 4070 oc running on a 3440x1440 monitor (slightly bigger than normal 1440p) and have no problems running any game. Pretty much get 120fps with high settings on demanding games and 240fps with high settings on less demanding games.
My previous gpu the RX 6600 used to stutter like that in some games unless you turned off ULPS which was no longer needed to be turned off after some driver updates later.
It should do just fine as long as developers pay attention to optimization. Of course, we must count on help from DLSS etc. For 1440p one of the best choices, in my opinion. Keep up the good work^^.
@Primesky it is optional so it is not shit. It is a feature and now whether game devs optimise their games are dependent upon them to obviously optimize it. You know what you and many others gamers can do is to not play those unoptimized games which are specifically unreal engine 5 games that particularly use all or almost all of the features of unreal engine 5 but there are unreal engine 5 games that use less features of the engine that work fine. There are literally thousands of games to play so finding games that are optimized shouldn't be that hard but if you only play the latest AAA unreal engine 5 or demanding games and if your system is shit then of course you will be getting low fps or a terrible experience if you try to play at high settings that you know your system can't handle. You can't be this dumb.
@@MrAnimescrazy Bro Stop Dickriding multi Billion $ Companys the dont care about you. I have a 4070 super paired with a Ryzen 7 7700X and if I utilize full ray tracing at 1440p my framerate tanks lol not sure if there is a bottleneck or if I had the graphics preset set too high
It could be that the GPU ran out of memory. Performance drops significantly in some games when there’s not enough memory, especially since ray tracing requires additional memory to run. That’s why the 4070 SUPER isn’t the best option for ray tracing, even though the GPU is powerful enough to handle it in some cases. Its 12GB of memory limits the number of games where you can actually use it with higher graphics settings.
@@theivadim there’s no doubt your right I was playing at the highest preset with the raytracings highest preset as well once I tweaked some things and added frame gen the game played gloriously roughly averaging 80 fps or so.
how much better is 1440P comparerd to 1080p in your opinion? im thinking about upgrading.. hopefully the performance hit wont hit that hard on my 4070S
1080p->1440p usually takes about 20-35% more GPU power. So, for example, if you are using 4060 Ti with a 1080p monitor, you will need 4070 to switch to 1440p and get similar framerates. I'd say, 1440p res is a great balance between image quality and performance. Plus, you can always use DLSS Quality at 1440p and thus get similar framerates to native 1080p, but still with higher quality image. While at 1080p upscaling looks pretty rough, since it leads to significant loss of details and introduces bluriness. P. S. If you still have 1080p screen, enable DLDSR x1.78 and then select 1440p res in any game menu. This way you can test, how many frames your card can offer at your targeted res.
In my opinion, 1440p is a significant upgrade over 1080p, especially on a 27-inch or larger screen. You can always use DLSS to boost FPS in more demanding games while maintaining the highest graphics quality. That said, I’d personally prefer a 32-inch 4K monitor. As you may have seen in my previous videos, the 4070 Super performs very well at 4K too, thanks to DLSS.
can you please lock fps to some major monitor's hz? like 60, 100, 120, 144, etc. i wanna see the watt used. i'd probably turn on your bell notification and watch all of your future vids.
I’d go with the 4070 Ti SUPER. I’ve been using it with a 4K monitor for the past few weeks, and it’s been a great experience, especially with DLSS. It's great at 1440p too.
I'll probably make another video revisiting the 4070 SUPER before then. And I'll cover the 5070 as well once it launches. I really hope the the 5070 will have more than 12GB.
@@theivadim sounds good i will wait for video i think its better and see both 4070 super and 5070 which better when come out, yeah i heard will be 12GB sadly but i hope more!, also Great Video 👍
Just got one of these bad boys. On my region GPUs in this class are already almost 150 USD more than USA prices and new generation of GPUs always cost more than the old generation AND it takes many many months for old gen to lower in price because of new gen. I hope with the power of DLSS upscaling and lowering graphic settings my 4070 Super can last me 5 years because I am not buying a new GPU for a long time. I don't mind DLSS Balanced. I come from RX 6600 upscaling (720p rendering) on my old 1080p screen so my standards are rather low
I think ill go for the RTX 5070 INSTEAD! Cause of obvious reasons. Firstly, the 50 series will have better ray tracing and frame gen capabilities, and moreover, it'll be future-proof, I won't need to upgrade for like another 5 to 7 years. 12 gigs is enough for my usage cause its my first ever pc lol 😂. Loved the video tho ❤.
Sounds like a plan. Furthermore, it looks like NVIDIA might add more features to the DLSS package-some of which could be exclusive to the RTX 50. We’ll see soon.
Thank you very much for ur explanation on previous video, and good to know that 4070S can run smoothly on 1440p as long as its not full rtx. Oh and Merry Christmas! 🎄☃
As long as I don’t enable path tracing and leave the default ray tracing mode on, I run this at 4k highest settings with my 4070s paired with the 7700x and get a solid 60fps. It looks incredible! If I enable path tracing though it all goes to shit 🤣
I am playing Hogwarts Legacy in Ultra settings at 1440p with FSR Quality on my RX 6600, and I have around 55-60 fps. You don’t need an RTX 4070 Super for 1440p. I would say that an RX 6600 is not a good choice if you consider to buy a new gpu, but you don’t need a $600 gpu. The $250 Intel Arc B580 or the RX 7700 XT at $400 are perfectly fine for that resolution at high and ultra settings. You just have to use Intel XESS scaling (which is as good as DLSS) or AMD FSR (which is not that good, but not very bad) Please don’t make dump decisions! (And the Intel Card has the same Ray tracing capabilities as Nvidia gpu-s)
Of course if you don’t want to mess around the settings, just put into ultra and play with 60-90 fps in modern AAA games, then get the 4070 super. It is a fantastic GPU.
I guess me playing on a 4k tv with 60 fps on games with some raytracing off dont matter. Coming from console playing wirh 4k60 is greatm dlss on or off but with ray tracinf enabled and frame gen on some games its ultra everything wirh rt and frame gen on Older games maybe 4k ultra wirh ultra rt on and no frame gen or dlss or far because the card handles less then 12gb since thats its max Im new to pc but i 4k only. 6o is the max of my tv with vrr, Dolby vision, 4k, and motion smoothing. So everything like regular tv is 60fps and 4k. Im happy with that but i came from console. So 4k60 with rt enabled is awesome. I'll get a 120 or 144 hz soon. 4070 super eats 4k30 like its a regular work day. Hogwarts legacy playing
CPU costs more than the gpu. Unless you are a league / valorant 1080p streamer, I dont see anyone *buying* this combo. I don't see the point of this setup.
It’s most likely to ensure the gpu isn’t bottlenecked at all in any scenario (while gaming of course). This allows the gpu to tested at full capacity if the game is well optimised.
if you want to reduce the spikiness of your fps graph or reduce stuttering, turn off power monitoring for CPU and GPU from your Afterburner. Overall, if you reduce monitoring as much as possible, you will have better 1% low fps and no stuttering.
Question is do the players are ready. I stop listeing bullshit about resolution when i tested FHD in 27 inch what for 100% testers is to much.. well isnt. I test later 31.5 FHD.. and quality was still very good.
It's really a tragedy what the GPU developers offer us every year... 5% more or even 10% more, really laughable. For this reason I'm still using my 1080TI from 2017 and it will stay that way for the next 2 years.
you should upgrade to a used 3080 and don't pay more than $300. It's worth it at that price and power. The gaming GPU market is going to get worse as AMD said they are leaving the high-end gaming graphics card market giving Nvidia a monopoly. We will probably see a $1600 5080 series and a $2500-$3000 5090.
Anything below the rtx 4080 is starved in the memory bandwidth quite heavily, It will carry over to the rtx 50 series lineup of cards and the only gpu yet again worth the money will be the rtx 5090 the rest just suck
It all depends on the games and settings. Newer games using unreal engine 5 are not going to give you the most fps unless if you put the settings down to low or medium with no raytracing depending on your pc parts but most other games at high settings with or without raytracing should be higher frames and you always have dlss and frame gen to help.
If you want the best, you need to buy the best which is not really as good as you might think. That will cost you $2000 to $3000 just for your graphics card. I have a i7 13700K overclocked, RTX 3080, $300 on the used market and it runs stalker 2 at 1440p using DLSS at 80 to 120 fps on high graphics settings. Indiana jones runs amazing on a 3080 and I gets 100 fps nearly on max settings. It just isn't worth upgrading at the price point Nvidia is asking for their GPUs. It's only going to get worse as AMD recently said they are giving up on the high end graphics card market. Intel made a great leap beating out the 4060 tier but Nvidia will have a monopoly on the highest end gaming GPUs. I invest in Nvidia and love the work they do, but I do not support $1000 GPUs. It's f***ing gaming, not AI making missile strikes swerving through anti-missile batteries to hit a 1 inch target on Mt. Everest's peak to kill an ant! Don't pay the exorbitant prices and we will see $700 and less prices for 0080 GPUs and $1000 for 0090 GPUs.
12gb is laugh xd. A year and a half ago I had to replace my 3080 because it couldn't handle skyrim vr with a bunch of graphics mods in 1440 because... 10 gigs of vram XD. 4070 is not that far off. Give it 2 years and there'll be games it won't be able to run at good settings with rtx because of memory limitations.
Thrn turn off raytracing or turn down the settings so you can use raytracing if you want to play natuve but if not use dlss and or frame gen. It is that simple.

Shut up and get to work
If you want the best, you need to buy the best which is not really as good as you might think.
I'm sure you know people buy the higher end gpu's for better performance right and not needing to upgrade for years?
12gb is laugh xd. A year and a half ago I had to replace my 3080 because it couldn't handle skyrim vr with a bunch of graphics mods in 1440 because... 10 gigs of vram XD. 4070 is not that far off. Give it 2 years and there'll be games it won't be able to run at good settings with rtx because of memory limitations.
Thrn turn off raytracing or turn down the settings so you can use raytracing if you want to play natuve but if not use dlss and or frame gen. It is that simple.
