@@someoneout-there2165 if I'm thinking of the right thing then that's not what happened. They didn't just use exploits to obtain it. They took all the videos and rumours and added them to the game themselves.
@SoniXperia also not exactly true. They used ACE and TAS bot to re implement beta content that IS actually still in the game, but they added to it to make it playable in a story like way. The BotW Link and Zelda at the end were an extra thing they added on top of everything to make the suprise presentation more special, as they didn't tell the audience the extent of what they were doing. The only thing they added that was a rumor and not part of the BotW bit or the beta content was the Overture of Sages, which the name may or may not have existed but the tune they used was from the rumor. Otherwise the beta kokiri and his associated quest, the butterfly, the full sing of time, the unicorn fountain, and the triforce were all actually in the cart files. The only thing I'm not sure on is the extent of the running man fight. The fact that the full song of time was a real thing and the fact that they originally intended to have you be able to switch between past and future at will, means they might have had the quest set up to "beat" him with the song etc, but I am not sure if the fight was still left or if they programed it. In any case, they only used TAS and ACE to inject some of the data to stich everything together. Otherwise at least half the content was already there, just put into use. So technically you were both half right.

I always wanted to go into that house that became the Bazaar in Kakoriko Village. Also, Gerudo Valley as a kid, into Hyrule Castle, and basically over any boundary in the game, especially the Lost Woods. You see, as a little kid, I always though that if I tried hard enough, I would find the part of the Lost Woods that appeared in Majora’s Mask. Then from there, I tgought I could get to clock town! Lol. I miss being young and naive like that. I felt similar to Banjo Kazooie. I had just played Tooie, but still hadn’t beat Kazooie yet. So before I got To Witchy World in Tooie, I went back to Kazooie and tried my hardest to get to Isle of Hags, or to get to the Stop n Swap area above the waterfall, bit of course it wasn’t there. 😂😭😂😭😂
Most of my goals were from Pokemon Snap : making a vulpix evolving into a ninetales by pushing him into the lava, a pikachu into a raichu, find new ways, find mewtwo, find weezing by putting a koffing into the same water as weepinbell...Of course, it never worked, but I had got the same childhood feelings you talk about in your videos. Sometimes, I even dream about new discoveries, new path in pokemon snap, even if I grown up.
Well done! Also, the musicless of nighttime in the 64 Zeldas was sooo beautiful. It made it feel like you were in a haunted house, like anything might come out of nowhere and for some reason be way more dangerous than anything during the day. I think maybe that's just how real life nighttime felt for me as a kid.
In super monkey ball 2 on the underwater stages, there was this fish in the top left poking out of a hole in the level scenery. It was super far away and not accessible by any normal means. Every since I saw the fish I always wondered if it was possible to reach. All sorts of things went through my mind like, will it activate a hidden world? Would it give me infitnite lives? Who knew. But then one day I realized that in the level “organic form”, you can get launched ridiculously high up if you keep the level on fast forward. I never managed to get there myself. Then one day, about 10 years later, I actually came across a UA-cam video of a guy who managed to get up there. An then after like 20 hours of me trying again I finally got there myself. There ended up not being anything special that happened, but I felt mega accomplished.
Just wanna say thank you for offering such riveting content. I left my ear buds in while doing dishes and honestly forgot I was doing chores. Your content is so exciting and I found myself enthralled with wanting to know more and binge watched your channel while working!
Same! Then at some point I learned that his soul was put in your Deku transformation mask from the get go, and the game took an even darker turn for me..
I wanted to know for years what would happen if i talked to the three adventurers in Oblvion Shivering Isles. (The Orc, dark elf, and rogue) and just recently i glitched through some walls and talked to them. They say "I Have No Greeting" and then all you can do is exit the talk. They also have INSANE health, and The Orc has a usually unattainable weapon. It was cool doing something I wanted to do since i was a kid.
The strangest thing I enjoy is after you save the carpenters in the garudo town (I forget what its called), go into the mess hall and get into the pot with the green tunic. Stay there until you die.
I'm really commentating just to tell you the intro of Link hookshoting was absolutely beautiful. The background music and metal clink was perfect. Amazing work.
I'm impressed the moon exists as separate object in the sky and not just painted onto the skybox like many other games would do. OoT put so much attention to detail into everything.
can't say i ever wanted to do this during my multiple play through's... though i'm fascinated by the esoteric nature of this goal, and the determination you had in figuring it out.
7:05 - Did I have any strange goals from any video games in my childhood? LMAO! Don't even get me started on the Mystery Eggs and Ice Key from Banjo-Kazooie.
Your not alone. You along with me and probably many others did exactly what you did and watched the intro over and over .. Great minds think alike . Cheers
I did the exact same. I'd turn on my N64, lay in bed and just listen to the intro theme song on loop. It was mesmerizing and still one of my fav OST's till this day! :))) glad to hear I wasn't the only one.
I used to looove oot glitches. I played that game so many times that it was getting old, but once I discovered oot glitches, it was like a whole new world. I used to love doing the 'crooked cartridge' trick to get link out of the forest.
There's something really sweet about this video with that childlike wondering if you can touch the moon. I never knew how large those textures were I have to say, really interesting. Thank you!
I always loved trying to break the boundaries of games when I was growing up. Jet Moto was one I can remember. I recall being able to boost vertically up a wall and get out of bounds and just race on like a mad man. Very good racing game to be honest.
In Mario Kart 64 I always tried to find shortcuts or secret areas. I spent so much time in Royal Raceway exploring the castle, DK’s Jungle Parkway driving on the grassy strip between the canyon and the trees or trying to land on the riverboat, Bowser’s Castle trying to get behind the bars by the green thwomp, Kalimari Desert going through the railway tunnel, or on Sherbet Land trying to get to the floating ice blocks with the penguins. Such a strange sense of nostalgia and exploration for a simple racing game.
its so impresive how they coded that moon for that time/era something they could have just duck taped in the back but they know how important that thing was to the game and went the distance to mmake sure it realy worked beautifuly, another example as to why ocariny of time was a master piece in 98
When I was young, I played a game called *Go Vacation* on *Wii.* There's a part of the game where you can build your own house, and decorate your interior and exterior. A goal I had back then, was to be able to *_climb_* and *_walk_* to the top/roof of all the house exteriors of the game. Good times. -Doing that on every house in the game is 100% possible, btw-
So, this video is great. Well done. But, is he lowering the pitch of his voice at the end of sentences in a weird way, or is it just me? It's like the opposite of a valley girl accent.
WOOOW. I just discovered your channel, and you mentioned the old sky temple...wow. I remember spending HOURS exploring Ocarina of Time rumors, including going over every single inch of the Gerudo Desert. MAN you just launched me into some serious Nostalgia. You are awesome and you have my sub!
I used to do the same thing with the original Doom title screen and the auto playing demos. I would watch them over and over, sometimes just leaving the running for hours looping over and over in the background while i did something else
N64 games and DS games are my favourite games that I have memories and recent theories about. I remember playing Super Mario 64 DS trying to break Peaches stain glass window in front of her castle to see if I'd beat the game early. This sadly never worked but I still remember it being alot of fun. I tried everything like shooting my canon at it and so on. (I would get 150 stars then not beat the final boss and instead go out front with the canon)
I too used to just sit there and watch the start screen. As a kid this game used to mesmerize me. I remember crying in fourth grade when I finally beat it
I know this is stupid but I used to have a crazy feeling when I was 6 years old that I BELONGED in Ocarina of Time. Like, in the actual game. I felt like Hyrule castle was my home so I spent countless hours roaming around in Hyrule market town during night time because it felt so soothing to my soul. It felt like actual home. Idk why I felt this but ever since then I’ve felt spiritually connected to that game. Now I’m an adult and I still get chills when I play Ocarina of Time. It’s like, a fragment of my soul stayed inside of that game when I was playing it as a child. It feels weirdly surreal. Yeah I might be crazy, I just needed to express that. Ocarina of Time will forever be my favorite videogame ever. Even if there are better games.
Childhood mysteries in video games just brings me back to when I thought Bigfoot was in GTA San Andreas. I spent so much time in that game roaming the woods in the rural areas hoping he'd pop up. I followed every rumor and guide to no avail, but the journey will always be memorable.
My strange gaming goal as a kid was on Metroid, in the first blue hallway, doing the "door trick" on the first door, on the bottom-left. If you move through the wall and make the screen scroll upward, you'll see an inaccessible room below. This drove me nuts as a kid, because I knew you weren't supposed to be able to go down there, but despite that, there WAS a down there!
In Megaman Legends I had the goal of maxing out the Zenny counter. I would literally defeat every enemy in every spot of all of the ruins before coming back up, I had the entire thing mapped out and knew it like the back of my hand for what I called these "Zenny Runs". I still go on them occasionally for easy fun.
It's astounding that things like this lead to my interest in game design/development. Now to find out the moon is simply an asset that is a mere flat texture shows how rudimentary of a concept it really is, but back then it lead to so many debates/theories. Gotta admit though, I find how they were able to program and work around hardware limitations back in the 64 days fascinating as hell. XD

Not gonna lie the name of this video suddenly made me want to know the answer to a question I never knew I wanted to know.
Slow clap
Just wanna say thank you for offering such riveting content. I left my ear buds in while doing dishes and honestly forgot I was doing chores. Your content is so exciting and I found myself enthralled with wanting to know more and binge watched your channel while working!
I think NASA got to the moon with less effort than SwankyBox.
Link should take tips from GTA and shoot the moon with a rifle.
Or tips from PORTAL 2 and shoot the moon with a portal gun
Nelson's TAS and Game Archive no, he shot the sun with a bow instead and got fire arrows.
Now that's nostalgia. Lol
Rifle?
No
FrEaKiN bOwS 😡😠
My childhood dream is to save the deku butlers son in majors mask
Same! Then at some point I learned that his soul was put in your Deku transformation mask from the get go, and the game took an even darker turn for me..
It was really sad tho 😔
This brings a whole new meaning to "Fly me to The Moon"
When I was a kid, I thought if you touched the shark in the diving pool, there would've been a jabu jabu section
Let's see a vid about that....

"The moon never seems like you can reach et.
You are forever in front of et.
So, as a kid, that was the end of et."
I'm dead.
I remember when I was first sneaking through Hyrule Castle, I tried to open the door right next to where Talon was sleeping.
Same!
"Night time is my favorite time of the day"
- swankybox
*Hugs her halting to say goodbye.*
My childhood goal for ocarina of time was to break the ice in zora's domain.
Same here buddy
Oot: Lets touch the moon.
MM: Probably not a good idea.
"The world is flat."
-Swankybox, 2019
Local fairy boy revolutionizes space travel using a horse and a long chain with a pointy end
Nobody:
SwankyBox: CAN YOU TOUCH THE MOON IN OOT?
The strangest thing I enjoy is after you save the carpenters in the garudo town (I forget what its called), go into the mess hall and get into the pot with the green tunic. Stay there until you die.
One strange goal I had was learning all about Glitch City in Pokemon
I'm really commentating just to tell you the intro of Link hookshoting was absolutely beautiful. The background music and metal clink was perfect. Amazing work.
The moon was made out of cheese then rotted for majoras mask
I'm impressed the moon exists as separate object in the sky and not just painted onto the skybox like many other games would do. OoT put so much attention to detail into everything.
Can't tell if I'm watching despicable me Zelda or not
Why so many likes on a completely grammatically incorrect comment
*oh poop*
1000 subs with no content
jealous *cough*
el chapo wants to know your location
I GRAPPLE A TREE! Then I NO-CLIP OUT OF BOUNDS! I HEAD TO THE CO-ORDINATE OF THE MOON! ITS FLAT! It’s flat?
1:40
And Wednesday is my favourite thing to happen on Tuesday.
In Majora's Mask, the moon touches you
can't say i ever wanted to do this during my multiple play through's... though i'm fascinated by the esoteric nature of this goal, and the determination you had in figuring it out.
I've always wanted to explore the forest in the graveyard of kakariko village
and keep on exploring until a skull kid out of nowhere steals your ocarina and horse.
*Gives them the Legend of Adam Hikarii Darkrender.*
"Nighttime was my favorite time of the day" hmmmm
Dude I love watching the opening screen it's so beautiful and the melodic music creates such a satisfying and calming feeling
You can get to Ikana without Ice Arrows!
7:05 - Did I have any strange goals from any video games in my childhood? LMAO! Don't even get me started on the Mystery Eggs and Ice Key from Banjo-Kazooie.
Let me save you all 8 minutes: Yes, you can with the swordless link glitch and the hookshot glitch.
Your not alone. You along with me and probably many others did exactly what you did and watched the intro over and over .. Great minds think alike . Cheers
The moon is flat. Ocarina of Time proves it
Everything is flat
the commenter what are you a flat earther 🌎
@@JBad06 Of course I'm not, the Earth is round. I'm a Flatmooner XD
I did the exact same. I'd turn on my N64, lay in bed and just listen to the intro theme song on loop. It was mesmerizing and still one of my fav OST's till this day! :))) glad to hear I wasn't the only one.
dad: son what you wanna do when you grow up?
SwankyBox: im gonna touch the moon!!
dad: so you gonna be an astronaut?
SwankyBox: well not exactly 🙄
I used to looove oot glitches. I played that game so many times that it was getting old, but once I discovered oot glitches, it was like a whole new world. I used to love doing the 'crooked cartridge' trick to get link out of the forest.
But can you touch the moon in Majora's Mask?
did u beat the game
@@allanssupposedlysecretacco817 You don't have to beat the game... The moon will "touch" you
@@lukerbom12 if u let it tho
@@lukerbom12 lol
There's something really sweet about this video with that childlike wondering if you can touch the moon. I never knew how large those textures were I have to say, really interesting. Thank you!
Quick answer:
RUMORS AREN’T TRUE! FAKKEEE
ITS A TEXTURE
I always loved trying to break the boundaries of games when I was growing up. Jet Moto was one I can remember. I recall being able to boost vertically up a wall and get out of bounds and just race on like a mad man. Very good racing game to be honest.
Just realized this video was uploaded like 50 mins ago
In Mario Kart 64 I always tried to find shortcuts or secret areas. I spent so much time in Royal Raceway exploring the castle, DK’s Jungle Parkway driving on the grassy strip between the canyon and the trees or trying to land on the riverboat, Bowser’s Castle trying to get behind the bars by the green thwomp, Kalimari Desert going through the railway tunnel, or on Sherbet Land trying to get to the floating ice blocks with the penguins. Such a strange sense of nostalgia and exploration for a simple racing game.
I want that 8 minutes of my life back.
who would've known the low res moon was a 2d texture
its so impresive how they coded that moon for that time/era something they could have just duck taped in the back but they know how important that thing was to the game and went the distance to mmake sure it realy worked beautifuly, another example as to why ocariny of time was a master piece in 98
So in short, dude tries to touch the sky box but is surprised when he never reaches it?
When I was young, I played a game called *Go Vacation* on *Wii.*
There's a part of the game where you can build your own house, and decorate your interior and exterior.
A goal I had back then, was to be able to *_climb_* and *_walk_* to the top/roof of all the house exteriors of the game. Good times.
-Doing that on every house in the game is 100% possible, btw-
I literally watch these videos because the voice is cool
This video is like those recipe guides - telling me about his childhood before getting to the meat of the topic.
Link. You cant stretch metal
He got really really hot and the chain became malleable.
SwankyBox: night time in ocarina of time was certainly my favourite time of day.
Me: Confused screaming
So, this video is great. Well done.
But, is he lowering the pitch of his voice at the end of sentences in a weird way, or is it just me? It's like the opposite of a valley girl accent.
Downward inflection bby. Just a weird verbal tic most likely.
It is incredible how your storytelling catch us for 8 minutes talking about something so simple haha
In Soviet Majora the moon touches you.
next challenge: Can you touch the moon in Majora's Mask?
Link: I've always wanted to touch the moon.
Skullkid: Say no more, buddy.
“The world is flat...” My man! A free sub and like!
“...Well at least in this world.” 0OF
I too used to just sit there and watch the start screen. As a kid this game used to mesmerize me. I remember crying in fourth grade when I finally beat it
I loved to watch AI vs AI fights in Super Smash 64. I made tournament rosters and spent many weekends watching the AI battle it out.
Making an entire in depth video on something that isn't possible. Love this channel! Keep it up!!
But it was possible.
To the Moon
i always loved the forest temple because it seems old and lonely and it has something to it i cant describe.
It’s kind of interesting that they made the sun and moon so big, you got to appreciate that attention to detail
0:00 a yes swankycircle
You take the Moon, and you take the Moon
You take the Moon and you take the Moon, you take the Moon and you take the Moon and take the Moo--
A game where the decorative stellar object is actually massive and not a tiny little thing floating around? I'm actually impressed
That is where you also found the Triforce after all that work. 😎
Nah man, everyone knows the Triforce is actually hidden in that hole under Ganon's castle.
XD
