@@EastmansHuntingJournals I’ve Been doing moose hunts the last 10 years and then two years ago I filmed with my wife in Alberta calling in Monster satellite bulls 10x7 and many others and nothing thus far in my 31 years of hunting has come close to that experience

Dan one of the best call in videos I have ever seen. Realizing that the entire event had to be edited down, it still gave good detail on what happened along with your great commentary! Excellent job and I think a much bigger (horn) bull than you originally thought! A stud for public land! When are you coming back to Oregon to tag a bull!

Great hunt and shot there Dan. Way to slow play those bulls and have the patience and persistence to get the job done. Pretty exciting stuff. Good idea about combining the two bulls for your pedestal mount. Also nice trick on leaving evidence of sex.

@@EastmansHuntingJournals I wish. I don't even have a bow but will someday. I hunt with a big bore air rifle, which can take down big game with good shot placement. It trains the hunters mind much like having a bow would. I stick to deer and smaller quarry but will someday go after Elk........When I do, maybe with a bow....Tks

Awesome hunt and great vid. Please keep your pistol or bear spray on your belt when you are skinning and quartering your elk in bear country. On the ground 10 feet away is not good enough. In my area about 25 years ago two guys had an elk down and were taking care of it when a griz jumped them. They had laid down their rifles nearby but only one guy had time to grab his gun but never got a shot off. Both guys were killed by the bear. The barrel of the rifle was actually bent. Near Whiteswan, BC.

Great bull and great video! Word of advice, I would leave a skinned out testicle attached and not the penis. If the bladder is full and once the animal dies all the muscles relax and the urine comes out and is in the urethra tube. This could get on your meat and I try to avoid that as much as possible. The skinned out testicle still attached is the cleanest that I have found. Thanks for sharing, loved the hunt.

Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.
