‪@walkingwithbill‬ explores the plague village of Eyam in the Peak District. In 1665-1666 the plague arrived here when the local tailor ordered material from London but the package also contained infected fleas and the plague quickly took hold. The residents of Eyam decided to self isolate themselves to stop it spreading further; 260 people lost their lives in the 14 months that the plague raged in Eyam, a third of the population.
