Rob Paulsen and Charlie Adler are both very prominent voices of my childhood. (I like how Rob's voice for Yoink is very similar to his P.J. voice from "Goof Troop", while I can definitely hear Yakko Warner in Sgt. Farflung.)
Keep in mind that all of the What a Cartoon-shorts where made by both famous and aspiring animators, the aspiring one later went to make other cartoons as their careers took off. One example being Seth McFarlane, who debuted on WaC with Larry & Steve
Funny you said that because these cartoon has two leads from Tiny Toons and Animaniacs: Charles Adler (Buster Bunny) and Rob Paulsen (Yakko Warner/Pinky).
Don Jurwich (rest in peace), Jerry Eisenberg and Jim Ryan: those three names would also conjure memories of the cartoons they did for Hanna-Barbera and Ruby-Spears circa 1978-81, including Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo, The Plastic Man Comedy/Adventure Show, The Super Globetrotters, Richie Rich, and more.
My uncle, Jim Ryan, wrote Yoink! I have the script in front of me! Jim also passed away August 31. I have ALL of his memorabilia including lots of his scripts! Thanks for your nice comment! I had no idea until today he wrote this!
1:35-1:37 The captain’s got the right idea. I mean, even if the Mounties **could** get all the animals’ furs back (which would be next to impossible, since the trappers most likely already sold them), there’s no guarantee that Nuf would keep his end of the deal.
B for buns of course. Dont know why this line makes me giggle. Yoink of the Yukon another great show with series potential ignored.....WTF Cartoon Network??
Well they couldn't all get picked up, but yes. While Dexter, Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, Courage, and Powerpuff Girls were excellent choices I think Yoink should have been picked up too. Same for Fat Cats
The way Rob Paulson said hand over those uniforms makes me think a lot of his performance as Raphael from Ninja Turtles, btw why wasn’t this short picked up back in the 90s?

That it is so amazing and so incredible animation show video in the whole world! I really think that he should have his own animation episodes tv show videos in the tv show in 2019 or maybe 2020. So what do you think about it?
Rob Paulsen making cartoons awesome since 1983
What’s more impressive is that he apparently does the voice of the Bear which doesn’t even sound like him
the will wood concert was so amazing… #yoinkbackyoink
Yes it wasn’t just me who went straight to the episode after seeing Will wood
Yeah same, Will Wood for life
Sad it’ll never happen, the guy who made this died
This cartoon has been living in my head for decades. Shame it was never picked up as a series.
Yoink is such a fun character!
So too is Noof (from Newfoundland, hence his nickname)!
@@ClassicTVMan1981X That makes sense now that I've seen it written out.
He is, but why does the sergeant sound like an angry Australian if he's Canadian.

The visual style is kinda Animaniacs. Even the design of Yoink (sorta looking like a 30's funny animal)
Keep in mind that all of the What a Cartoon-shorts where made by both famous and aspiring animators, the aspiring one later went to make other cartoons as their careers took off. One example being Seth McFarlane, who debuted on WaC with Larry & Steve

Oh yes an entire episode in my left ear.
Mono audio might help.

@@equexcellence You're welcome.
The face that the moose makes when Yoink smells his ass is priceless. Such a subtle but funny gag.
this one deserved a full show, it's refreshing
Impressive how only Two Guys(Rob Paulsen & Charlie Adler) did the voices of Every character in this whole short.

"WHAT... A... CARTOON...TOON...TOON...TOON!"

Yes. .Jim Ryan also wrote many Scoobies including Boo Brothers and Reluctant Werewolf!
@@equexcellence Don Jurwich did so as well, serving as producer for Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo from 1979 until 1981.
I haven’t seen this cartoon in years. Glad I found it.

the animation reminds me so much of tom and jerry kids
and this should have also become a series
Is Yoink a mustelid? You know, like a badger

Yoink of the Yukon is aired July 30th,1995!
too bad this short didn't get a cartoon series
Probably wouldn't have resonated well with some Canadians, just saying.
What a cartoon is totally awesome thank you
0:51 - Is that the same voice of Snively on Saturday Sonic?

I guess this is where that Killdozer guy got his inspiration from.
Miss these anthology shows.
This show gave me my permanent impressions of Canadians. They ALL speak in these pompous voices. Later South Park's Canadians also nailed it.
"Social activist Grizzly"
I died lol
"If there's anything I can't stand, it's a social activist grizz-lay!" haha
