Just after the war, when I was a child, this film came to our local town cinema, and my parents took myself and my brother to see it. Loved it then, and I can still remember it today, even after over seventy years!
Ohhhh it's heart warming ❤😊
@@inin-zq5ob Yes it is!
🥲Awesome! Lovely memories to pass down!
lucky to be born when you were, the golden era, wish I was in my 70's, so I wouldn't be around much longer for all the nonsense.
Fleischer animation has always been my favorite! I can't believe I've missed this for my entire life; I'm making up for lost time, now!
I saw this movie when I was very, little almost 60 years ago!! Thank you for posting this.❤
Me too! I remember watching it with my mom.
@@susangarcia9073 wonderful ❤️
I didn't realize how far back this movie went. I saw it as a child and I'm in my mid 30s
I am over 60 3:04 'and I have never ever seen this movie so I am going to sit back and watch and with the comments I believe I will enjoy it immensely 😊
it's a bee movie
@@___Anakin.Skywalker 🤣
I'm 59, and I remember seeing this on TV as a kid in the late 60s/early 70s, along with Fleischer's animated Gulliver's Travels.
I'm in my 20's watching this for the first time too. Definitely going to pass this one down to my kids ❤
me too.
I find it strange that I never heard of this movie before. I grew up with Snow White, Gulliver 1939, and many classics, but not this one. I love the fact that this movie has many unexpected plot twists and unique story telling. You don’t see many cartoons like that especially in modern times. Many thanks to the host who uploaded this forgotten treasure
One possible reason why it's little known is because this is the one that finally broke the Fleischer studio. They heavily mortgaged their studio (to Paramount) to finance production of it, and when it flopped at the box-office, Paramount made the rash (and possibly illegal) decision to foreclose on the studio. They basically took possession of the studio & all its cartoons, kicked the Fleischers out & moved _everything_ back to New York. As a result, this movie, obtained during the foreclosure like everything else, was considered something of a hot potato & other than occasional reruns on TV, it kind of faded into oblivion, remembered only by people who saw it or by animation historians.
@@MrPGC137 That’s sad. I truly hope that social media will give this movie the attention it deserves.
@@gedaloomhiaka8488 In the meantime for more information, the book _The Fleischer Story,_ by Leslie Cabarga, is _highly_ recommended. It was written after extensive interviews with many of the studio artists & other personnel who were then still living. It might be out of print & hard to find, but copies _may_ be available at your local library.
This brought back so many memories. I haven't seen this in decades and decades, but I remember seeing it when I was a little little boy. And the memories it brought back were not only of the movie itself, those blurry, half-remembered scenes in my mind, songs that I sort of remembered existed somewhere in time, But it also brought back memories of the living room in the house where I grew up, I remembered things about that room that I hadn't remembered in so many years. The way the couch looked and felt; all brown and yellow velvet with green plush pillows, the paintings of seascapes that were on the wall, my brothers and sisters all huddled around in front of the big, brown boxy television set. I saw the room for the first time in decades because of this movie.
Don't forget the pole lamp.
At what age sir when you first watch this movie and what age are you now sir.

Im still proud i requested this movie.
Спасибо за чудесный мультфильм. Мне 68 лет, но я до сих пор люблю мультфильмы😊❤❤❤
I remember seeing this several times on TV when I was a child. I thought it was titled "Hoppity Goes to Town." Great cartoon - each frame hand drawn and colored unlike computerized/AI today.
@@jvgreendarmok Also, "Bugville".
Some prints - including this one! - are titled "Hoppity Goes To Town".
@@MothGirl007 The most uninspiring of the three titles.
My VHS copy definitely said "hoppity goes to town" could be one of those things where they change the title based on the country.
I really liked the 3D city in the opening titles. Looked so much better than some of the CGI crap these days.
What a gem to come across on YT today….🥰🥰🥰🥰 my 2 sons when they were little ( now 33 & 36) used to love watching this film….😁😁 Thank you 😊
Oh it's heart warming ❤❤
I watched this as a child and when I saw it I screamed
The title is "Hoppity goes to town" I used to watch this on Family classics when I was a kid back in the 60s.
"Mr Bug Goes to Town" is the original title. It was changed to "Hoppity goes to Town" when it was rereleased in the late 40s and they kept that title when it was shown on TV in the 50s, which is what this print is from, it's a National Television Association print. I don't think a print with the original title exists any more.
Awesome 😊
Thanks for that true gem, I really needed that.
They just don’t make them like they used to!
Definitivamente, não.
Let’s all just take a moment to appreciate the hard work of the editor and animator team for their meticulous attention to detail in animating all the bug characters scrambling up the brick wall as it was being laid in place at 1:12:00! I cannot begin to imagine how much of a logistical nightmare that had to be to edit! This was done in an age before computer rendering! These animators were freaking LEGENDS!!!
Respect from Romania! 🇷🇴
¡Por favor: fijar un comentario donde se aclare que el film cuenta con subtítulos a varios idiomas, para que la mayor cantidad de gente pueda disfrutar de esta hermosa y maravillosa película..!!!!
Im impressed, watched it today for the first time. High quality, loveable characters, nice Story, cute humor and a lot of heart! Thanks for uploading!
1944 reissue (under the "Hoppity Goes To Town" title). Reissued for television (and limited theatrical release) by National Telefilm Associates in 1956.
This is so cute and wholesome. I miss when movies were like this.
Absolutely FANTASTIC!🐜🐌🐝🕸🌸💟
Eso si es el verdadero Dibujo animado y divertido, tengo 56 años y me gustan y los veo todavía

😂😂😂😂 even their dance to the boss was hilarious 😂
😂 12:32 Gotta love the translation.
I'm very young and I don't remember it, but I watch it nonetheless and feel nostalgic for those days that I didn't even live
Studio Ghibli loved this movie so much that they released it on DVD in Japan on their own label.
Amazing ❤❤❤
I watched this with my granddaughter today. I hope she will remember this day for a long time. ❤
I love the Fleischer brothers! The music is good, too! Classic animation.
Love this! The animation is all hand done. Fantastic!
For me, all of Fleischer's works are phenomenal.😁
It's fairly obvious that the Animators from Disney copied a lot of the Fleischer's Techniques.
The Fleischer's were the first Animators to experiment with Rotoscoping and 3 Dimensional Backgrounds.
Considering the nature of the business, you will find that animators were a company shifting bunch. A cursory view of titles will show familiar names from company to company. Much to our benefit and theirs.😁
@@mybachhertzbaud3074 Oh, yes. I recognize names in the credits, in which these people would move from to studio to studio. Tedd Pierce, co-writer of the movie and the voice of Mr. Beatle wrote and voiced for Looney Tunes before and after. Co-animator Irving Spector allegedly started at Mintz/Columbia/Screen Gems but became a writer and board artist for DePatie-Freezling. De-facto assistant director Shamus Culhane went on to co-animate for Chuck Jones in 1942 before directing for Walter Lantz in 1943-45. Co-writer Cal Howard, who previously did Walter Lantz and Warners Bros., moved to Screen Gems/Columbia and the worst 1960s Lantz and 7-Arts era Looney Tunes.
Awesome and amazing
Excellent great commercial too!
素晴らしいですね これぞアニメーション!
Very much like Hayao Miyazaki.
@@thegreencat9947 I appreciate your comment!
Hayao Miyazaki is a fan of this movie.
@@user-xo5jt7tn7k Really? The art of animation has always enchanted me. Thank you for telling me this very interesting fact.
Beautiful cartoon movie by Paramount picture made by dave fleischer, one of the fleisher brothers. Wonderful
Great movie!
Swat the fly and Smack the mosquito.... adorable friends.
So very nice to see this again, especially in such a nice, pristine print! With the original main titles!
Muchas gracias por subir esta película. Es muy buen, y hace tiempo que no la veía en youtube. 🙂🙂🙂
Magia de los hermanos Fleischer ❤

I don't remember ever seeing it in almost 66 years... The whole thing is stunning. Very likely the best. Enjoy!
It brings back an innocent time in cartoon history where everything was drawn by hand

It’s the best! ❤
Cheers young lady, thats awesome!
La vi de muy niño, solo una vez ,no la vi programada nuevamente en ningún cine de colonia o barrio, hojala venga traducida o subtitulada 😀👍
Now we have tecnology, but cartoons like this have art and soul. I prefer the olds (from Brasil)
This was posted on my birthday 🎂 happy late birthday to me, a new movie and it’s about bugs 🐛 I’m excited , just turned 22 and never will stop loving animation
The closed captioning looks like it's been put through Google Translate a few times.
Watching it on a Roku TV and had to shut off the closed captioning because nothing was matching up with the dialogue. =)

This was basically A Bug's Life long before Pixar even released A Bug's Life in 1998, not in terms of plot, but in terms of basic premise. Hell, Brave Little Toaster (1987) was a lot like Toy Story before Pixar released Toy Story, again, not in terms of plot, but in terms of general premise.
Mulțumesc frumos pentru aceste desene,îmi amintește de copilărie. Am 38 de ani dar ma uit și acum la desene animate 😅😊😊
it's probably just me but for some reason this has All Dogs Go to Heaven vibes.
Loving this movie already ❤
It's a pretty charming little movie, and VERY Well-Animated!
Too bad it also served as a swan song for a legendary animation studio, Fleischer studios, before Paramount bought them out and turned it into Famous Studios.
Beautiful thank you ❤
What a gorgeous movie. Hand drawn animation is far superior than the horrible cg and ai of today.
Damn, this was out in 41???? How come I've never seen or heard of it before. It's very well done! Same quality as early disney, reminds me of Snow White with the mocap. Lovely work.
Omg Hoppity!!! I love this! What a great film
this must've been the inspiration for Blossom in the movie IF
I haven't seen this in years!

Thank you for uploading this ❤
Thank you for the film. 🎥

Tom Hatten used to play this on the Family Film Festival on Channel 5 KTLA in Los Angeles. It's a cartoon that has a very interesting history, if you care to Google more.
Oh Yes. When I saw this pop up ...I thought of Tom Hatten immediately. .
Those where the Good Days !!!

Much Appreciated !!!
This is WONDERFUL! BEAUTIFUL! ADORABLE! 😊💜
Everything is right about this beautiful movie!!
Muito bom do início ao fim
Back then, animation was an art form. Everything was done by hand and came out wonderfully. And there was a really good storyline to go with it. CGI animation doesn't even hold a candle to this!
Swat the Fly, Smack the Mosquito, and C. Bagley Beetle are nothing but trouble.
That goes without saying anything. Quite frankly: C. Bagley Beetle is nothing more than that of a second rate annoyance to as lowly as a third rate needy pathetic little miser among bug types who’s hellishly starved for attention and admiration in order to compensate for living richly but all alone with swat the fly and smack the mosquito as his dimwitted, mindless, sycophantic, highly incompetent, but lovable henchmen, no matter how much they mean well at times. As for swat and smack, they’re not exactly any better themselves despite only really carrying out C. Bagley Beetle’s orders and doing his dirty work only to be treated no better than how he wishes to treat much less do harm onto that of his arch rival in love for the affections of the lovely Honey the honeybee who’s also the story’s main character: Hoppity the grasshopper
Great film loved 😍 it as kid..still do at 68 uk 🇬🇧 England 🎉😊
Oh my god 😢
The good old days where internet never existed.
Wonderful!
this was beautiful thank you!
🥹Makes me uncomfortable knowing all the small things I saw as a little child that I thought were adorable were made by people not so pure😢
19:31 Ummmm
23:05 The mosquito's pants
So they've been making movies with such messages to care for animals and life around us yet they still didn't listen, I am so sad, all the forest fires happening consecutively around the world. It's so sad.
😅😅😅😅well ingormeti0n.Good show more content 😅
