Hello from the Netherlands! I just subscribed . I have been doing thes kind of challenges and it teaches me a lot.I love it. BUt I know about the doubting and puzzling feelings that can come with it.I hear two important things : 1 : "My kitchen is now organized" ( meaning higher comfort thus quality of life :) ) 2. "Dry goods are in kilner jars, where I wanted then for ages" ( This is a longtime wish fullfllled and an organized house is an organized mind. I think you are doing great :D Thank you for sharing!

Oh thats so cool that I have subs in the Netherlands! I am so glad I sorted them out, they look so much better and are much more organised now, not sure why I didn't do it earlier, mainly down to space, but once I got rid of my cookbooks I had the space I needed

Definitely feel the guilt all of the time. We've started splitting money into jars so we have a budget for various things. We were hoping it would build up over the months but the 2 months we've tried it so far we've managed to spend most of it. Trying to remind myself that we need to build the habit first but it's still hard. We have a 2 and a half year old and I've noticed that I just don't want to limit myself on things for her, particularly as I'm not excessive anyway. Keep going, you are doing your best!

I totally get that, I don't want to budget when it comes to the dude, see this weeks video going out today as I touch on kids a little! lol! I'm not excess either I don't think but its still a case of finding a happy medium I think and being more conscious of when I do decide to spend. If you are using all the money in the jars why not take a few £ or $ or whatever currency out of each jar and put it in a separate savings jar hat you aren't allowed to touch. £2 or £2 out of each jar you have probably won't really be noticeable over the week but the amount you could save each month will grow, and if you have left over at end of week add it to the jar before refilling for the next week to keep excess saved. Just an idea really

Thank you Charlene! I have come to realise that this week. I was way to hard on myself, but as long as I keep trying I know I am doing my best

Hi. You are dong great. It's about what you're learning through this challenge and improving yourself. After watching one of your videos I too decided to carry a water bottle around with me so I didn't have to spend money on drinks when out. For some reason my bottle kept leaking in my bag. So I've scraped that idea!!
I too am on a no spend month. I've learnt that I need to plan the days that I want to spend money. That way it saves me time and energy so I can do other things. I'm averaging spending 2 days a week. Once in the weekday and once at the weekend. I'm going to continue in April and learn some more stuff about my spending habits. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, I feel I have become much more conscious of my spending and am learning to be better with money over all. Glad you are doing well too. Sometimes spending is inevitable but its all about trying to work on spending less on unnecessary things. I had a huge spend day this week due to Toys R Us closing down and me purchasing a number of big money ideas for my toddler for christmas!! But i saved over £60 on stuff I would have had to buy later in the year anyway! So I don't feel guilty about it at all!
On the water bottle front, try a different bottle, a good sports bottle shouldn't leak once it is sealed correctly, it really will save you money over time, and carrying water is a good habit to have anyway

please stop beating yourself up, just continue being conscience about it. my dad use to keep a gallon jar on the dresser. he would put all his change in it, when it got full, he would have me sort it into the roll to take to the bank. :) he always was amazed it was. :) blessings

Your totally right and that is what this week taught me. I was getting to down on myself, but I realise I am still doing my best, and I will continue to try to limit my spending as best I can, in the best ways I can. My mum has 2 huge pub style whisky bottles she was given 30 odd years ago that she fills with coppers and 5pence pieces. Its insane how much is in them when they are full.

My opinion for what it’s worth is that you are too hard on yourself. Surely the whole point of the no spend is to stop you spending money wastefully. If you are just going to wait and buy those things anyway then you haven’t saved that money in the long run. You also have a small child and entertaining him and feeding him is obviously going to need to be necessary. Otherwise it is like going on a crash diet, you might get quick results but they aren’t sustainable and potentially will be worse in the long run once you tell yourself you can spend again!!

Thank you HellyLou that is totally what I have realised over the last week. I was being too hard on myself, as long as I keep trying to spend less and be more conscious where my money is spent I think I am doing well. Having a little one definitely makes it harder not to spend money, I just need to be sensible about where it is spent. We have reduced our outgoings well this last few weeks already, and I think we will continue on this path next month, I just need to be kinder to myself!
