I ran into timing problems with a few of them. The barrel link seemed to be on the long side. Heavy binding and beating the crap out of the take down pin. Both were early 5” guns. Yes they had EGW internals but the hammer and sear pin holes weren’t lined up all that well
You’re talking over Skips head now. He can take em apart and send them out for coating. But, he’s not going to do that level of gunsmithing. Ain’t gonna happen. I can confirm that from the results of the builds I sent him. They are worse now than when I sent them to him for fitment of barrels and slides. Coatings were crap too.

Skip I did it I picked the compact up like I told you months ago my dream gun was the staccato but it's to expensive for my pocket so I got this one instead. So my issue with a lot of the more affordable 2011's, is the fact that they are heavy. I like my 4.25 prodigy, and now that it has a properly set up trigger, it shreds...but it was a bumpy ride to get to the point where it is, and it's not really something I would consider carrying. I really would like to have a 2011 that I can carry, and then the Prodigy can be reserved for competitions.

My Apollo 11 is back to LFA FOR THE 3RD TIME!... Repeated failure to return to battery, every 3rd shot. LFA don't seem to know how to fix a gun. My Stacatto C2 and Bul SAS II 425 Pro run flawlessly. Stay away from the Apollo 11
Mine just needed to clean up the disconnector. It was rough and would cause it to slow down and not go into battery. Resolved that issue and it runs amazing now. Also did some EGW upgrades because I wanted to.
You lost me when you said you pinned the grip safety. I would never carry a 1911 butchered like that. FYI, I shot USPSA with a Colt Combat Commander so I know a little about safety.
I think using words like butchered because a secondary saftey that isn’t an option on higher end guns like infinity,atlas ,cheely and many more highend firearms used by plenty of professional shooters that have an understanding of saftey with weapons is just a very shallow way of thinking about the evolution of firearms furthermore being a bad example of practicing the real importance of something way more important, the 2A community and how we teach others about our weapons. Instead I hear a lot of negativity from such as yourself that should use his words for positivity instead of opinion.
Sounds like this would be a semi nice weapon if you take a thousand dollar gun and do 5 or $600.00 Worth of work to it. Seem like you may as well pay a better firearm and save yourself the Misery.
V6 ports, done several now. 3 - 1/8" ports fit nicely in the compacts slide windows. Amazing shooter after tuning and porting.

I switched out my apollo11 grip for a prodigy but it won't load a round in the chamber. I used an apollo mag and prodigy mag. ???? What's the hold up?
Could be afew things but I did reshape my Apollo barrel feed ramp and chamber because it was really tight

What weight recoil spring do you recommend, 9lb is perfect for 5” but no idea on compact 👍
I’m running a 8 and buffer but I ported it now and I’d probably try a 9 if it was a carry but 8s are my sweet spot
