To whom who asked about the different between balanced & un balanced chromosome Balanced mean no gain or lose of genes Un balanced mean there's gain or loss in chromosomes segment through deletion or duplication
To the guy say the chromosomes aren't non-homologous, don't want to make you look odd or ehem dumb but they are...non-homologous, besides it's just a term the logic is more important, and btw these translocations appear to be involved in evolution as well
There is no question about 16th chromosome becoz robertsonian only takes place in acrocentric chromosomes which are 13,14,15,21,22 Most common 13,14 and 14,21

Learned this in school today too. THUMBS UP! Two Roberts marry.
this was so helpful, thank you!
Very helpful and clear :)
Thank you!
One thing I do not understand is what does balance and unbalance exactly mean?
Nice video... clearing the concept
thanks, it was really good.

Thank you !!
Thanks a lot!!!
Well explained :)

Thanks good animation
thank u
Please make it faster, and use more slides and examples, thank you, go on :)
+Michael Ragaee. not sure if they had this feature back when you posted this... but you can speed up the video.

Wow, i am watching it now after 10 years

Hey doesn't reciprocal translocation also occur between two nonhomologous chromosomes as well...that's what i read
yah because there are two types of translocation. read the description of the video tnx. idiot
I could actually listen to this in 2x the speed without any problems. Maybe you should talk quicker or maybe this function makes it okay :D
Wordy.
please answer me
Robertsonian happen betwen
20-15
21-14
19-13
16-y
which one wron????😢😢😢ineed answer
Robertsonian takes place between chromosome 13,14,15, 21 and 22 as far as I know. These are the acrocentric ones.
14-21 most commonly
13 and 14 is most common, 14 and 21 is second
Down Syndrome is one of the examle I think.

He said non-homologous but drew em like homologous....just noticed that
+Alex Duval Based off of what, the color of the chromosome? The color scheme doesn't matter at all, so stop confusing people.
Ok, sure.... Wow! Your a real trooper Adam! Parents must be so proud.
another idiot comment.
heres some practice for ya: Why does a Robertsonian translocation require a Acrocentric chromosome?
Why???
lol
