Today we’re fielding the Strawberry Red Overdrive by One Control. Bjorn Juhl, the mastermind of BJF has come up with more unique circuits than most builders have dreamed about, and now he has collaborated with One Control on the Strawberry Red Overdrive. This pedal seeks to replicate the essence of a tube amp rather than any specific amp. The philosophy behind the Strawberry Red is the idea that all great amps possess a few universal characteristics that make them great, and these ideals are distilled into one compact pedal. The extremely touch sensitive input responds well to pick attack and cleans up like an absolute champ. Rolling the Drive control down delivers an exceptional clean boost, but there is also a ton of gain on tap. Turning up the Drive yields a high-gain harvest, with plenty of output to force-feed your amp with violin-like sustain and smooth harmonics. If the Treble knob isn’t enough, there’s a small Low-cut trimpot on the side of the pedal that can be adjusted with a screwdriver. Despite its diminutive stature, the Strawberry Red accepts a battery and is capable of running up to 18 volts for superior headroom.

Sweet sounding little overdrive. Might be a little tubescreamerish but may be worth checking out at the right price. Finding the right overdrive for your rig can be magical and sometimes you never know where it’ll come from. This guy from PG shops makes everything sound awesome
