- www.one-control... The Sonic Blue Twanger is another in the line of ‘Amp in a Box’ designs by Bjorn Juhl, meant to model the sounds of that other company’s ‘blackface’ era…. It can be used as a preamp, booster and distortion pedal and will give your rhythm guitars an edge, and your lead guitars that limiting distortion effect of those ‘blackface’ amps run flat out….. So whether you use backline for your live shows or just want that classic ‘blackface’ tone available; regardless of which amp you use, the Sonic Blue Twanger is the only fx pedal on the market to satisfy your need.
As with many of the BJF designed pedals from One Control, the Sonic Blue Twanger is compact with 4 simple controls. The Treble control is really a tone balance (like on the original amplifiers) which increases and decreases a ‘shelved’ EQ setting. Volume and Master controls work as pre and post volumes allowing you to vary the amount of clean headroom and distortion in the signal. Finally, on the side of the pedal is a Rhythm/Lead switch. In Rhythm mode, the pedal provides about 18dB of gain (-80dB noise level), and in Lead, about 40dB of gain (-74 dB noise level).

Great Demo as always mike! This pedal sounds better to me on the rythmn stuff than the leads - with exception of the jazz flavored semi-hollow body lead sounds.
Onecontrol mades a lot of nice pedal I never use this brand I will hope it in future!
the One Control stuff is really impressing! I've run out of adjectives to describe Mike's playing though. How about smoothalicous!
Volume plus a db boost plus a master volume with a mid to upper swell or scoop. Could be useful. :-)
I really like mine but it's noisy with both master and vol at noon with single coils - does anybody else have this problem? Maybe I should send it in for a repair

Thinking about getting one of these and I have a Vox. Did you ever test it out?
It's perfect, allows me to switch between edge of breakup Vox tones and BF Fender tones just by stepping on this pedal!
Wonderful playing as always. You seem to state that this is the only pedal on the market that gets the blackface sound - what about the Wampler Black 65?
Oh, it seems Wampler discontinued the Black 65 pedal?
