1. nintendo doesn't always follow their usual schedules. Lets take this indie and and partner showcase that they combined for example. This is the first time this happens in August like that. it seems they're making space for some other bigger announcement in September. 2. Nintendo isn't afraid of announcing a new console before the Holidays. The switch 1 also was announced right before the holidays. 3. Developers were first told to prepare their games for a holiday 2024 release which was eventually delayed by Nintendo for whatever reason. Those devs really wanna show their games but can't because Nintendo didn't reveal the console yet. Those devs are just waiting for an announcement by nintendo and really wanna show of their games at tokio games show.
It will be revealed after Christmas. It wouldn't make sense for them to miss out on one last holiday season of sales for the current Switch by revealing the Switch 2 prematurely without releasing it.
@@Avm371998I don’t agree with the original comment, but the reason why they revealed the original Switch before holiday 2016 was because, by that point in time, they had absolutely NO hope of the Wii U seeing some sort of resurgence in sales. It was completely dead, so they had nothing to lose by revealing its successor.
@@mrphalange7015 the 3ds was still selling well at that point. Also I think the potential of the switch sales has been hit. Most people who wanted a switch already bought it by now.
Nah it'll be revealed this year. The switch games can be played on it. This won't hurt the sales much. Switch console sales are declining anyway. They've passed the peak. They had a stream of directs in August. Nintendo never do that. They cleared the slate for another reveal soon. Plus the ps5 pro will be revealed this year. Nintendo don't want them to have all the thunder. Plus the new switch is about to go into mass production. They'll have to reveal it before what it looks like is leaked.
I've compiled a list of reasons why I doubt it'll be announced in September. Doesn't mean it isn't possible, but it would surprise me. Probably the most telling reason is the fact they said the next device would be announced by the end of this fiscal year. As Nintendo is a Japanese company, their fiscal year ends at the end of February. This means they have beyond this year to make the announcement. Additionally they commonly have a Direct in February. So it makes too much sense they would use the February Direct next year to make this announcement. Switch sales will tank the moment the Switch's successor is announced. I cannot picture Nintendo undercutting the final holiday season of one of the best selling platforms in video game history. They're going to want to ride the wave of its success throughout the most profitable months of the year. There are too many games still coming to the platform. There are 7+ first party games and many 3rd party and indie games as well. Announcing the next platform before most of these games have a chance to release would be shooting themselves in the foot. Why put all that time and effort into this strong Switch line-up that continues into next year if it just gets overshadowed by the next platform and its next gen games that will undoubtedly blow Switch games out of the water? To combat the scalper situation, Nintendo claimed they would take more time to ensure they would meet demand. See, at the start of this generation the semiconductor shortage caused many problems with the launch of the PS5 and the X-Box Series X/S. This delayed the progress of the new generation by about 2 years, where you could only get a hold of these devices by either being the quickest online buyer in the west or by paying scalpers an egregious amount of money. We may be past the worst of this, but Nintendo doesn’t want to climb the same broken ladder upon launch, so they’re taking the extra time to build up enough product to counter this outcome. Nintendo also needs time to build up a roster of games to debut with the launch of the new platform. Last I checked, they still have a ton of remasters/rereleases coming to the Switch meaning they’re still buying time to polish off that first line of games to the point they would be confident to show the public. And lastly the Switch is on the road to be the best platform of all time. Currently it sits at number 3 but very closely behind the number 1 & 2 spots. Imagine if the next device doesn’t come out for another 7 months. It would potentially give the Switch the time it needs to make it to number 1. This could be used in advertisements hyping people up for the next gaming machine. Imagine it has backwards compatibility and they claim you can bring your Switch library over to the new platform and have access to the best selling console in history. That’s a good way to move units off the shelves at launch.
Bro and I’m just as confident that they WILL reveal in September cause they had a direct partner/indie world. Come back to this comment when they do release in September 😂
@@Whattheflip64 Okay, and when the holidays pass on by without an announcement check back in. Let the games begin, ha ha! To be fair, I hope I'm wrong. I am anxious to see it too, but it just doesn't make much business sense.
If not September 2024, it will be October 2024. They got the Museum direct and bundled indie world/partner showcase direct together to push them along sooner. Release Will be March/April.
Let's be honest guys, even tho we all really want the switch 2 as soon as possible we gotta admit that it ain't releasing until april 2025 at the earliest
You can also say that the Switch 2 reveal is...
arround "The Corner"
Based on history, it has been iminenmt since February
