It's a 1.5-liter turbo engine. When I heard you say "1.5-liter engine". I said never that vehicle is too big to just be a 1.5 naturally aspirated engine. It's important to include "turbo" engine. Good review, nice vehicle.
This is interesting. While the Chinese have colonial ambitions, I would choose them over the existing Western colonialists for one key reason: they understand that keeping nations down is not economically viable. They recognize that the growth and expansion of nations like Jamaica will enhance their economic dominance globally, as well as that of the target nations to some extent. In this instance, I'm willing to accept a new devil. As a side note. These fully loaded cars are relatively affordable.

The parts argument is a red herring, even the dealers for what most consider the reliable brands have persons waiting months for parts, especially if its a Euro brand which has people wating over four months for a headlight for a eight year old vehicle. The Chineese unlike most other brands have factories dedicated to making parts for thier cars to be shipped worldwide, heck some of those plants were bought by them after the "big reliable" brands abandoned the market and sold the plant to the Chineese.

Quite a few, especially in Kingston, they are common. BYD, Foton, GWM, Haval, Jetour, BAIC/Beijing, MG and just started seeing one or two Changam..
