    My wife and I tried both the N1 and N1Ux today and we both loved the N1Ux so much that we purchased it! Incredible tone and action. What he said is true, if I were blindfolded, I would swear it was a real upright! Exactly what we were looking for. Thanks so much!

      @DUKE 390 did you received yours ?

      My NU1X had two keys always too loud - manufacturing defect per the tech they sent and nothing could be done to fix it. Store model had a key like that too. To me these are deal breakers I wish more folks would have warned me about. I have not found any N1X owner complaints about this issue - where a key or two are more sensitive and so you can play even dynamics without adjusting like you would on an old neglected upright. Not good for a 7400 new piano.

    Got nu1x for my everyday practice.. it feels almost like a real acoustic upright piano. I myself compared nu1x vs B3 and U1 48”. Nu1x touch is really close to U1. The speaker system is more than enough for a home base living room.

    Somehow the sound of the nu1x was clearer as compared to the n1x which sounded a little muffled ?

    Please could you compare the NU1x with the CLP785?

    • @cheesesilk
      @cheesesilk Рік тому

      go play them it's not even close. The NU1X will feel worlds better but see my above comment, unfortunately is really flawed and poor transparency and support. Not talking about sudden loud notes, talkin about certain keys always being too sensitive/loud even on a new unit. What I gathered from two techs and from my own experience is the tech in NU1X is really precarious and prone to this kind of flaw. I have not found any such complaints about N1 or the Kawai Hybrids but that doesn't convince me there aren't issues there.

    I think the NU1X is great because I want to get a real upright for practice but can't afford a real one so this is great because the action is genuine and not some weird plastic

      But why do you want to practice on an upright? I would want to practice on a grand piano in your case and would be happy that I can get the action of one in an N1X.
      I have a grand in my living room and would never ever want to play an upright again. If I had to move to a place where I could not fit it in but only an upright, I‘d rather take a digital N1X with a „real“ action than a Steinway K132 upright with a „substitute“ upright action. Because that what the upright action actually is. The substitute for a grand.

    Sounds nice but how can the first piano replicate the
    una corda sound of the grand piano?

    • @PulpyButtGoo
      @PulpyButtGoo 4 роки тому +1

      I don't know if you're asking how well it can, or just how it is able to. I'm guessing they either sampled the sounds off the original piano using the pedal or it is applying some kind of programmed effect to simulate it. As for how good it does it, I have no idea.

    Is the "loud note issue" on the NU1X resolved ?

    • @jaysire
      @jaysire 2 роки тому +2

      Nope and it likely never will be until they add more sensors. I own an NU1X and play it every day and I rarely get the issue any more. Maybe once a month. It's mostly related to having instinctively learned to avoid it. I don't think it's detrimental to my playing in any way, so I don't really see it as a problem.

    Does the actions / touch require regular regulation like real acoustic piano?

    • @dlevi67
      @dlevi67 3 роки тому +1

      Nope (at least, based on nearly 6 years living with an N1)

    Hi , maybe not the right place to ask . But I really need some advice. And I do trust your advice .....
    YDP142 and CPL 635 , which one you recommend for a person who used to plays stand piano for 20 years ?

    • @ePianoscouk
      @ePianoscouk  5 років тому +3

      CLP635

    • @stephen129
      @stephen129 4 роки тому +4

      Neither. Play a Kawai digital at a similar price range. They're miles better.

    • @samwang5831
      @samwang5831 3 роки тому

      Certainly not 142, not that it is particularly bad, but it is not suitable for someone with 20 years of experience

    • @cheesesilk
      @cheesesilk Рік тому

      635 has VRM and binaural sampling and will blow your mind in nice open back headphones. Beyond that a little stiff and slower action but not the worst either.

    Why such a poor sound quality???

    I don‘t get this digital upright concept. About a year ago I played the old N1 and the old Nu1 side by side. I liked the N1, I hated the Nu1
    Uprights have been invented as substitutes for grands for people with small rooms and they always were mostly that: substitutes. big ones can sound as nice as mid-sized grands (170-180cm) and certainly better than small cheap grands, yet still have the substitute action that does not allow to play a note again unless the key is fully released. When I play a quick trill on my grand, I remain „in“ the keys, do not release them completely. If I sit on an upright, I always skip notes in trills, not so on grands.
    I see no reason why one would want an upright action.
    1: Grand piano - natural tone and best action
    2: digital hybrid with grand action (N1x) - digital sound on speakers, not so great, but action is more important than tone
    3: upright - natural tone (and good tone if the piano is big) but not very good action
    4: Nu1x: digital tone and not very good action - the worst of both worlds.
    I really, really, really don‘t get it.

      Yeah, I dont get why are you supposed to buy the imitation of the substitute of the real thing. Being digital, the could have built a grand piano action on an upright cabinet. That would be spot on.

      I have the NU1X and it's way better than the most premium digital pianos on the market such as the CA series of Kawai and Yamaha's Clavinova. Mechanical action triumphs digital action any day.

    These hybrid pianos are awesome because virtual piano software is going to greatly improve in the next 30 years, so you can use these pianos as the perfect MIDI controllers as the software an d hardware improves. I hate to be on the AI hype wagon but maybe in 30 years AI will have ended up perfecting digital piano software?
