Great episode! I see this as teaching episode for the collector community and future store owners. Thank you for sharing your insight at the end! Looking forward to visiting the store someday when passing through.
It’s all 100% real. I can attest to it. I came out of the blue. They did not know me. They welcomed me, the gave me an amazing offer on my trade. And I picked up a grail. And because I came on a non filming day, we talked toys a bit. They were kind and so were the other customers that were there. I 100% recommend. It’s like going to a con it’s a great vibe. I can’t wait to go back!
This UA-cam channel has so quickly become an instant favorite. I love the simplicity of this channel. Please never change ur formula. I just enjoy watching people talk about their passions n interests.
Ryan really makes this show. What a charismatic smooth cat. The way he negotiated for that Capt. Spaulding: *Snaps fingers* "80! ...Even 20's. Boom! Got it. Got him. I was going to take 4. Kidding!" All of it while looking the guy in the eyes, with a couple smiles to his buddies. hahaha. A masterclass. Amazing. Keep on that stuff.
Toy Federation has bought the Toys R Us brand and opening Vintage shops all over the country! Happy for you guys! Appreciate the content and the community even if you never meet us. The nostalgia brings us together.
My favorite thing to do while watching your episodes is play "eye spy" with background stuff. Like that Needle Nose at 3:45. Also, where can I buy a Toy Federation "Founder" shirt lol.
Totally awesomeness of a video Brother's. Thanks for sharing Your passion and adventures from Toronto Ontario Canada 😎👍♥️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️✨️✨️💯💯💯💯💯✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
Stopped by the shop today for the first time! Loved it! I picked up the G.I. Joe Whale and other assorted awesomeness. Thanks for the great customer service and overall awesome shopping experience. You guys rock! 🤘🏼
"Enjoy it!" I love that mentality. I remember in the early 2000s my dad took me to a collectable/comic shop to buy a bunch of Star Trek toys from the 80s. I loved TNG growing up but being a kid in the late 90s missed almost all the cool toys.
Awesomeness!! Love that you collect as well it shows you have the knowledge and the joy of vintage toys!! Can't wait to visit you guys when I visit my parents only about a month or so to go #norepos #vintage
22:00 thats so true!! ive spent so much on figures that werent in stores and all of a sudden they ended up in ollies or something for $3. or walmart gets a overshipment of it a year later just totally killing the value. or mattel remaking the same figure 3 times exactly the same but putting a alt sticker on it
@@MikeyBats i think a chase is more of a variant that is released at the same time. like for example the blue and red hogans that are out right now. mattel seems to be taking the exact same figure and a year later doing a entirely new run with it and slapping a different sticker or color in the corner as a new batch when there is already thousands out there. what makes it a bit different in he-man is right now there is tons of openers who see all 3 chases/variants as the same figure even though they are released years apart. so there is no value to them. its very odd with heman right now but any value it has for people like me who hunt down mint for a completionist collection they are just making me lose money left and right with these ideas. they put out bad distribuion, people scalp it and make tons of money, mattel sees scalpers making money off their bad distribution and then puts the same figure out again with a new sticker leaving everyone in a fury.
I do love the show and seeing things from the sellers perspective as well as the buyers perspective. I’m definitely gonna try to make the pilgrimage out to Toy Federation one day!
I love watching you guys haggle... seeing all the awesome toys.... Im a 90's kid.. born and raised... so i love seeing these vintage toys that i grew up playing with.. and just started getting back into owning. Love the content @toyfederation
I love watching your videos and glad I recently found your channel. I really liked the ending where you talked a little about how you price items. I think people forget your fixed costs (rent, taxes, insurance, etc) and the fact you might not sell something for months. My wife and I want to make a trip to visit your store. Keep up the great work!
In a couple of years I bet my butt on it that Captain Spauldin will become a grail item in horror toy collecting. Its hard to find as is but give it a few years that toy going to be a gem.
GREAT SHOW GENTELMAN!!!! ❤ YOUR SIT DOWN GET TOGETHER!!! IT IS ASOME!!! TOTALLY ASOME!!! THANK YOU ALL 4 ENERTENING US SOOOOOO VERY WELL!!! THANK'S AGAIN!!!!!❤😂🙏🫶👍❤️
Love watching the videos, your team has both the passion and the knowledge on what you buy and sell. Wish you the best long term, would love to visit the store one day.
Hes just a downright lovely fellah, when it's money he's still the same,a genial man,no airs and graces that knows and loves what he does,8n fact in this podcast he looks like the INXS lead singer Micheal Hutchens, which I've never thought. Great geezer .
i was just talking to someone recently about having bookcovers in school. they would usually hand out some ugly book covers that we would flip inside out and draw and write our own stuff on it.
This ' after show' shop talk is interesting. U could stretch the video to include as much store video to include shop talk can't get enough of this show lately 😂❤
The guys in the McFarlane, NECA, and Marvel Legends subreddits would hate this show because they hate paying more than retail. Ever. They are a unique bunch of whiners.
Congrats on the Pod fellas! It's been so cool to see you guys grow to an excellent youtube channel and now branching out. You're business looks cool. Just wish i didn't live in Pennsylvania.
Absolutely love this channel. Look forward to it every week. I could be wrong, but were you actually referring to the Shuttle Galileo from ToS? The Goddard is TNG.
Very nice work with the podcast. I’m definitely going to be listening/watching. Also, I’m going to be making a day trip up from Atlanta to come by the store again and I’ll be bringing some plastic goodies. Question: did you guys get the piece of the Gcreation Shuraking combiner I sent you guys in the mail? It’s a small gold scale. I found it in the car after the wife and I got back from our trip to Asheville. I want to make sure you guys did get it.
I promised myself one day not to go down the toy collecting rabbithole. I failed my promise but now I'm happier than ever (and a bit poorer). Anyways, thanks for all your videos @toyfederation !
I have a lot of respect for you guys. I've done the numbers in my head (not real nitty gritty research) and all I conclude is that it must be hard to make a living put of this. Margins are small so volume is paramount. Volume means constant work. Sheesh. Personally I think you guys are doing a public service- keeping a shop open for people like me to indulge and enjoy our dreams/hobbies and unwind (I want to say fantasies but that would open a whole other can of worms 🤣) . Humankind would lose a lot if toyshops were to ever dissappear.
@MoirandMoir, they seem to move a high volume of vintage stuff. I have been in the store twice (most recently last week), and the stuff in the Joe, Star Wars and Transformers cases are not the same, and boxed stuff etc above, and stuff you see come in are not there either. While there I picked up a vintage Snow Speeder, he said they just got it in yesterday, out the door in a day. Awesome that they can work with stuff they enjoy and make a living out of it.
I honestly don't mind if a carded figure has a price tag. I actually like it especially if it's a store like toys r us or kay-bee, Kmart any that don't exist anymore. I think it adds to the story of the figure
@Darthsmoker420, today after with you on that, when one of these channels is showing carded or boxed stuff (mainly from pics they dug up as these videos are generally, hey did you know this or other stuff like that about certain lines, I am always looking to see if there is a price tag on it. There is regional history of where that toy was possibly purchased from as well as the price. Lots of those mini fiefdoms existed back in the day before Walmart and target took em out. In the northeast we had Jamesway, Caldor, Ames, etc, besides JC Penny, Sears, and Montgomery Wards. Throw Zaire’s in there too. Up north I had never heard of a “Service Merchandise” store, but it was a common thing for people in the southeast from what I have learned over the years. So if I pick up a carded figure with an original price tag on it, I am all about it.
excited for the podcast, video quality is top notch. I hear what you are saying about what you have in stock, and I keep saying that. Locally here where I live, thats comics. No ones buying up lots even at steal of prices, stores have over stock and are essentially buying work. So its why I have kept some stuff for now. I know I comment that a lot on the videos, but its so important to consider. I enjoyed the journey but now I just buy a few comic books a month. I do wish we had our toy store still, but COVID ruined it...sadly

It’s funny because toy fed is prob the number one destination for all toy collectors willing to travel that far
Sounds better than the crappy stores in St. Louis. This Time Warp Toys place near here is terrible.
Might be my accidental favorite channel at the moment and I don't even buy or sell, just love the content and the Founder.
An incredible idea to have a podcast to talk about toys, the transactions, and the memories. That’s really the crux of this whole thing. Way to go!!!
Came across your channel last night. I don’t even collect toys or anything but these are so enjoyable to watch.
Not sure why, but watching toy federation videos just relax me lol
That captain Spaulding was so nice ...house of 1000 corpses is my favorite movie of all time
