Yet another insight into the simplicity and effectiveness of Wing Chun. Sifu Chan is truly enlightened - Tao.

Outstanding instruction. Love the idea of moving in small steps to get the right angle and to take an opponents balance.

My initial reaction to this top comment was "Well yeah, of course. Step small, change the angle, take his balance." That's exactly what I was always taught, and try to do. It's pretty fundamental stuff.
Then, that part of the demo played... Yeah, I see what you mean. That's what I attempt to do, but the way Adam pulls it off is so good. It was sneaky, subtle, effective, and I dig it.
It's just fundamentals distilled and applied, but so, so good.

6 weeks, this takes a lifetime. If you cannot commit 6 days a week, than you are not truly practicing your gong fu, therefore you are not at all alinging you're essence(tangible being, other words the body in general), heart(mental or just mind), & spirit(psychological or just subconscious focus). Nothing will connect, as the body is not properly seated, connected, or moving in unison, according to the six harmonies theory, four ends theory, and the usual Ying & Yan theory. Even on your only day off, you should practice your neigong( like you're breathing, you're stretching, you're stance work, your fascia training, standing meditation, self accupressure, self medication, reflection, walking meditation, sleep meditation, root training, energy transmission, qigong, ectera).

@@gerrekurquidez3044 What you mean is if you want to learn the whole style and become a master of that style. The dogmatic way, But you don't need that long for pure self-defence.

    • @gerrekurquidez3044
      @gerrekurquidez3044 7 місяців тому

@greecostyler No, I agree, until you are proficient in that style to use it with your other styles you have on lock(especially traditinal & modern weapon martial arts are important), use what was taught to you before. But for continued practice/fighting(amonst other things to be considered), your fascia, bones, joints & tendons need to be constantly trained(hench why 6 days a week, for the rest of your life), as muscle, reflex goes to the dogs after you turn 40 or so. The thing is there is no such thing as a "master"(shifu) or "grandmaster'(shigung), as you are expected to keep up with you 6 days until you take in your last breath. So you are technically a student forever, basically, with the intention of maintaining & and improving on all fields.

🔥 I use these principles in BJJ especially in the stand up to enter into a takedown

❤ Really loved it, nice to see the initial Siu Lim Tau use and classical Wing Chung, simple but still so advanced. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Master, can you please demonstrate the same time of principle but with less space? Like in a situation when your back is against the wall for example?

I have an idea for a video compilation and I really want to see it, but with two small kids, I just don't have the time to splice it myself.
It's just 1 solid hour of Chris getting smacked around. It would have chapters of a sort, such as:
Chris getting punched in the neck.
Chris getting punched in the liver.
    Chris getting face peeled.
    Chris getting thrown.
Chris getting hit with dirty stuff, (eye wipes, skin grabs, weird pressure points).
And "Sorry, Chris" compiling everytime Adam says the line with that tiny hint of a Canadian accent in the "Soorry".
Edit: I nominate Chris for GOAT demo partner. I really mean that. I'm such a bad demo partner sometimes. I'm resisting when I shouldn't, forgetting what I'm even supposed to do for the demo, mixing up my right and left, or getting flustered and letting every fundamental bad habit that I used to have suddenly reappear. You are awesome, Chris!

Methods to trap someone stronger than you? Against someone like Chris, I can tell its not easy to manipulate his arms/body, because of the mass difference it would not be easy to collapse him.
