Hi Corporal. I wonder if it would be a good idea to use a piece of stocking over the top of boots overnight, fixed with elastic band. Keep the crawlies out but still get aired out and dried.
Hey, Corporal, I normally don't talk to jarheads (;-) without crayons, but in your case wanted to express my nostalgic approval at your use of MY entrenching tool. Rgds, frmr SP5 combat engineer, USArmy, 1966-1968 (oh, yeah, your vids are ok, I guess)
I think the phrase, "if it ain't raining, we ain't training" is universally used in all the branches. Happy Memorial day brother, I'll be raising a toast to all who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Airborne
I've seen ppl say they don't like this channel cause the Corporal is too cocky. People need to realize there is a difference between being cocky and confident. I have went back and watched almost all his vids and all I see is someone confident in their skills and abilities and there's is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Matter of fact it's one of the things I like most about him and his channel. Keep up the great work sir love your channel! ✊
Cocky and humourless makes for a bad personality but the Corporal has a droll sense of humour, if I thought he was taking himself too seriously I wouldn't be here. He takes his craft seriously though. I really enjoy his videos.
The amount of work that goes into this when you really think about it. This man woke up, put on his boots, walked through mud, turned on the camera, walked back though the mud, took off his boots, got back in bed, just to record himself getting up, putting on his boots, and walking through the mud. Lol, love your stuff Corp
@@13Dixiefried doubt it, battery would die so fast. Unless the camera has a feature to auto record when it detects movement or was voice activated like a GoPro
Just so you know, as someone that doesn’t hear super well, when the automated captions are turned on, it renders the raindrops as *applause*, which I thought was hysterically appropriate; especially when you got the fire going 🤣
I just spent the night( my first bushcraft experience) I learned so much from you such as the perfect fire, water purification,100’s of tent and knot configurations, and a truckers hitch thank you so much and stay cool
I wake up in Australia and first thing I see is a CPL Corner upload. I also realise I have potatos, onion, butter, cheese and bacon in my fridge.... They do say breakie is the most important meal of the day. 👍
I think you should pitch the idea of a show called "Cooking With Corporal" to the Food Network.😃 I love all your videos. Thank you for your service to our country! 🇺🇸
Hey, new sub here. You are one cool dude. I am now a very old fart with memories fading into the dim and distant past having lived a life in the wild much like you do now. I spent an untold number of nights outside, maybe thousands, including two trips of three months each and one nearly a year. I rode a bicycle from Florida to California and lived on an island in the Bahamas. I sailed extensively on a small sailboat, once through a hurricane single handing. I miss those days very much. Through you, I can live some of that again. Tell you what though, I rarely ate as well as you do! Ha. Thanks so much.
I nearly fell out laughing when you flashed "The Grim Reaper" ☠️ from Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey!! My kids thought I had finally gone over the edge. LOL. Now, to give you something to laugh at Corporal. One of the times I made a little tarp shelter for my fire, similar to the one you made. It had been a long, tiring day and I really wasn't paying attention to the Chunk of wood I threw on the fire. It was a big piece of my fat wood ( fat lightered as we say it in South Georgia). I dozed off right afterwards and woke up a few minutes later to the blazing inferno that was my tarp. The rain and my combat boots put it out. Needless to say I pay more attention to where I set my fat wood 😂😂. GOD Bless you CPL 👍. RANGERS LEAD THE WAY 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅
Bummer Bro ...on some vids when it has snowed, you will see the Tuber start the camera and exit the tent. Snow still on the door flap before being opened. Thats when i realized they make remotes. I felt stupid too. 😷

Hey Corporal, great shelter. I was always wondering about covering the fire with a tarp and worried about melting the tarp or starting it on fire. Thanks for the info 5-6 ft. The "Triple Bypass Bacon Skillet" looked fantastic! My prayers go out to Dave. Hope you are having a good Memorial Day long weekend. Thanks again for your service and all who served and are still serving.🥓👍🏕

One thing I always liked about the videos on this channel were the concepts that apply outside of bushcraft. Things like being able to start a backyard bonfire the first time every time because firecraft has been so well explained on this channel.
Thank you for another OUTSTANDING video. Those heavy-duty, reflective tarps are the bee's knees. That tarp-over-the-fire rig looks like it would really maximize the effectiveness of a small fire. Bravo! ☺💙💛
OUTSTANDING video! A lot of UA-camrs in this genre don't do much, if anything in inclement weather. I appreciate you embracing the suck (even though it's still enjoyable when I do it now). I always know I have a solo overnighter to look forward to if I don't have anything else! Thank you brother!

Corporal Kelly thank you so much for these videos. They have been very informative. This summer has been so much fun using what I have learned from these. Thanks again.
good show, I like you keeping it simple and repeating the knots and showing close ups, makes it a little easier for a 69 year old, I'm learning, Thanks
Thank you for answering my questions on what you do with your shelters once you move on and how to protect your fire from rain. I've been watching regularly and have learned so much. Thank you. Pearl

Hey Corporal. You need to go on that show "Alone" you would win that thing. You are good. I still wish you were in when I was, we would have done the mission but also had a good time in the field. Take care buddy
Just like that Bruce Lee quote about not fearing the man who has practiced 1000 different kicks, but the one who has practiced the same kick 1000 times, whenever you do something that could be considered repetitive, I actually appreciate it. It helps to get it embedded in my brain, cement the foundations. Your consistency in relying on the tried and true, simple yet effective tools and skills helps me a lot in having a really clear picture of priorities, and then go from there. It gives confidence to try new things, knowing you can fall back on the basics if needed, and I see that in the many videos where you try variations, adaptations or totally different things.
Thank you. Thank you for getting out there every week and getting it done. I really enjoy watching your videos. Thank you for your level of commitment. Thank you for such detail and explanation of everything you do. I've watched several of your videos numerous times as I don't always remember the intricate details. But seriously though, thank you.
Hello from Oklahoma! Great video as usual! Loved it! This is a very useful video especially since I usually use the raised bed/shelter you built due to the wet ground from rain when I'm in the woods. Not to mention all the creepy crawly bugs. I loved how you covered your fire. I will be sharing this! Thanks for all you do. I'm gonna check out Drews adventures. This old man Can't get enough playin' in the woods! God Bless!
I use my food processor to cut slices of red potatoes, and yams. and regular potatoes.. then i slice up onions, shallots... All of this gets placed in the food dehydrator with fresh basil and rosemary.. Once these pieces are dry, they go into a ziplock bag... At the camp site, i put wild rice, along with the dehydrated potatoes and onions. Add water.. in a 2 quart cast iron kettle.. hanging over a parabolic mirror on sunny days (no wood or fire needed) . or hanging over the fire with a tripod/chain. Let simmer.. it is much lighter and easier to pack in dehydrated stew ingredients..
LOL... Weight is part of the equation, they don't weigh as much as you think. I'm not hiking... My trailer has a 300lb capacity. and i live in an area with very few hills.. I'm not worried about weight (as i'm strong) i'm worried about size..(smallest kettle weighs 2.3lbs) When you dehydrate 40 pints of blue berries it is about one gallon.. 72 dehydrated eggs : #10 can...60 servings of veggie soup : #10 can, 40 servings of hash browns : #10 can. and wild rice, Very light, and it makes a huge amount of food. I just need to be able to re-hydrate and simmer food to make it palatable.. I'm a vegan chef and i know how to supplement with foraging. thanks for your concerns.. And I have a well thought out plan for my decisions. I have talked to cycle touring experts and shown them my trike/solar trailer set up. They made suggestions based on my specific needs. I rely on the experts. PEACE and May God be with you and your family.
Corporal, I took my daughter on a weekend camping trip to a state park. While there I made your Triple Bacon Bypass Dinner Skillet, and sir, it was OUTSTANDING!! Thank you for your awesome videos
I wonder if anyone notices that you tap your boots each time before you put them on. Old Marine custom to make sure there is no scorpions, spiders or snakes inside your boots.

It gives confidence to try new things, knowing you can fall back on the basics if needed, and I see that in the many videos where you try variations, adaptations or totally different things.
I've not heard the Bruce Lee version, just 'fear the man with only one gun, he likely knows how to use it'
Respect to you. You be safe. And keep teaching as you learn. Bless you
I always wondered whose stomach they used to determine serving size. Any idea?
Thank you. Thank you for getting out there every week and getting it done. I really enjoy watching your videos. Thank you for your level of commitment. Thank you for such detail and explanation of everything you do. I've watched several of your videos numerous times as I don't always remember the intricate details. But seriously though, thank you.
"I can feel myself dying right now" lmao I lost it.
God Bless!
Food tastes better in the great outdoors. The body seems to benefit more from it. Improves everything.
I really enjoy and appreciate your builds. Your choice of knots are, IMHO, perfectly versatile and efficient.
Dehydrated food to save weight, then you hump a cast iron kettle?!?
Yes we notice
