I just love your techniques. I've always coffee stained paper but never then jelly printed over it. And I love the idea of the glazing I love to see layers.
What a wonderful series. Love that you experiment with so many different media and. Mix them together. I would have never thought to try the watercolor in tubes but I will now.your talent is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
I get such a kick out of your spontaneous delight in results. You are very relatable, Robyn. I get tremendous benefit from absorbing your approach to art.
Been combing thrift stores since June for a Rolodex! Finally gave up and found one on Etsy. It arrived yesterday. This video was so helpful! Love the coffee-staining idea. Now I won’t get frustrated when I want to stain a few Things and don’t want to stop and go thru the whole process in the kitchen! Being reminded to consider my Color palette before I even start is a huge plus! So I’ll be chugging along this week trying to make progress on my “Gellidex”! Love being on this journey! Thank you...
Toulouse is South West of France where they used to cultivate the Pastel plant. They are reinstating it, as of recently. I am a fan of your videos, french born in the South West of France. living in Brussels :)
Robyn McClendon I got my pastel little jar In Lautrec, South of Allbi. I was born there 😊 in Albi. They cultivate the pastel plant in the Giroussens village area.
@@valeriebrown5024 I found it online but it seems they don't ship to the US if I'm translating properly. I love that area of France. We rented a boat and went through the canals and it was wonderful. terredepastel.com/shop/ The color on the Gelidex cards looks pretty close to a Payne's grey so I will give that or a neutral tint a try.
Super standard technique video as always Robyn. My favourite so far on the gellodex saga. THANKS. I have some of that aquarelle watercolour somewhere. It's not easily available here in Ireland any more😢. Love what you do. I don't always comment but I always watch. B x x💚
Yes Brenda! Yes I love that Pastel. When I was in Albi I purchased the little pot for 16 euros...I was a little hesitant with the price...lol You can image. However I used while there and was so thrilled!!!! that I went back and bought a second pot...so glad I did I feel like it will keep me until I return to France next year :)
It's really good to hear that Arteza seemed interested.....we'll definitely have you to thank if they do make the Aztec Gold in the large size!! Thank you, Robyn. Moving right along beautifully with the "Gellidex"!
Thank you, ! thank you! for giving the link for the washi tape ! I fell in love with it when you used it in a previous project and have been trying to find it ever since ! I was going to ask you if you remembered where you bought it and you've saved me from having to ask.. This is the most beautiful washi tape I've seen, so thank you again for sharing ! And as always, I love your ideas !!
Wow, I decided to order some rolodex cards and work “small” I ordered Rolodex branded stuff and I can’t believe how cheesy thin the paper is. Barely heavier than copy paper. The paint will firm them up but I may try and look for different cards.
Hi Aleta Thx I'm glad you found me too! Here's the Stencil....Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Layered Stencil, 4.125 by 8.5-Inch, Splatters amzn.to/2I14uDf
Just found your channel...loveeee it! 🥰 I am new to coffee staining. I love the way you used a spray bottle. May I ask what you put in your coffee solution ?
Hi Robyn. Do you have a list of the stencils you use. I'm particularly interested in the spider webby, crossed tree branches one that you're using on the coffee stained rolodex cards with black flash. Also a note for your viewers...in Mi. and Ca., JoAnns prices on color flash and some brushed metallics are $1 higher than Michaels....color flash $4.99 vs. $3.99. I know I say thank you every time I correspond with you...but your passion for your art and for sharing your ideas with others is an example of what our world could be if we all shared our gifts with one another.
Hi Nancy, I'm traveling this weekend away from my studio, so when I return I'll get more details but it is Stencil Girl Stencils and I believe its called web or something similar
Hi Julia, I have a workshop coming up in February in Tucson, it will be a 3 day workshop with Gelli printing and a Book project...here's a link www.robynmcclendon.com/workshop-schedule

Thanks for sharing your work! Do you ever use watercolor paints that are squeezed from tubes in geli printing?
Yes, I put them on the plate like the Sumi inks that I use....
I really hope Arteza makes that gold in the larger size!
Me too! It seems they may be considering it, fingers crossed!
Im not a fan of gelli painting but love your deck!

Robyn, is it just coffee in your spray bottle? Love this technique! So cool! Love your work!
