Is It A Martini? The Ladyfinger Martini | Bar Talk & Cocktails

- We think Bruce is beginning to tire of this quest to make 1001 so-called martinis. Don't know what he's complaining about. We've already done 10 of them. Only 991 to go. What's his problem?
This time Bruce is making a Ladyfinger Martini but I don't think it contains any actual Ladyfingers. BUT Is it a Martini? I don't know. The suspense is killing us! :P
Cheers!

I love the way Mr. Bruce moves. Just wiping the bar off with a few efficient swipes. You can tell this guy has been tending bar for decades.
I sure have!
BRUCE!!!! Did you lose some sort of bet??? BRUTAL!!! This actually looks like a nice sipper!!! CHEERS!!!
Up the gin to 1.5 oz, drop the Kirsch and lemon to 3/4 oz, add 2- 3 dashes of cherry bitters an maybe a drop of saline. Still a fun video.
That would work
" more gin".. Two thumbs up !
Best Bar and Cocktail channel on You Tube.
Thanks!
@@BarTalkCocktails Well deserved. A pleasure having an experienced adult who knows his stuff.
My parents were in the restaurant/bar business in Monterey and Carmel Calif for over 45 years.
They had folks like you on their staff. You remind me of them.... professional and engaging.
Sounds like a spin on an aviation
Love this channel! I think you should take Bruce to Las Vegas as a guest bartender! Ya know how they have guest DJs at the pool? Well they need a party with Bruce. Also I would watch an episode of him organizing the spirits on the bar. I am sure you would make it interesting!
That would be fun!
I mean... it DOES have gin and some sort of fortified fruit thingy, so in that sense, it's closer to a martini than 90% of those recipes...
I can see myself in 40 year 😂😂
Great job mate
😁
Bruce, send your tormentors on vacation and make a good drink. Maybe a strong drink that I would try. Keep the videos coming, I'm watching. :)
Maybe it should just be called “The finger” 😅 Great videos Bruce!
I like that!
ladyfingers have an almond note, wouldn't it make sense to have a touch of amaretto ?
I think you're right about more gin. And maybe some saline.
Thanks for tuning in!
Mr. Bruce, isn't the moment when the recipe asks for lemon juice that it stops being a Martini? Just wondering. Thanks!
It stopped being a martini when it turned pink.
A martini, unless some wimp asks for it with vodka is; gin, enough dry vermouth to taste the dry vermouth, stirred, served up in a 'cocktail glass' and garnished with....whatever!
Basic and the best, no millennial BS.
@@jeffhildreth9244 Can't blame the millenials. Ian Fleming gave James Bond a Vodka martini; shaken not stirred; a girl's drink in 1954. Throughout the 50's, 60's and 70's a dry martini was one without vermouth. Not too long ago a man in his mid 70's told me a dry martini had dry vermouth and a wet martini had sweet vermouth. My martinis are based on David Embury's book; The fine art of mixing drinks.
@@jimlasswell4491 Whatever. : )
Hey Bruce do u need any New Orleans PEYCHARDS BITTERS??? I got u!
Poor Bruce!!!
Who is the man in the picture behind the bar? Thanks This is a great channel.
I think it looks like the 14th Dalai Lama
That’s Harry Yee! The king of tropical cocktails. The most famous one he created is the Blue Hawaii. It’s a signed picture he sent me. Thanks for tuning in!
Ha ha! He is the spitting image of the Dalai Lama. At least we know now. Cheers Bruce, keep up the great work@@BarTalkCocktails
Interesting! thanks I was wondering who he was. Best regards.@@BarTalkCocktails
Maybe nit quite a martini
Torturing Bruce. This actually sounds like an OK sour.
I would call that a martini, just not a very good martini. Try some sage.
