Aren't the margins pretty small? Especially, if you have an online store and dropshipping it.

Sorry man just a quick question i want to start my own coffee brand is it possble to sell completely online or would you be better to start with a physical stall or truck in your local area then go online. Sorry just debating what would be best to start and get traffic

Absolutely, both options come with their own set of pros and cons, and the best choice for you will depend on your business goals, budget, and personal preferences. Let's delve into each approach to give you a clearer picture:
      Selling Completely Online:
      Pros:
Low Overhead: You don't have to worry about rent, utilities, and other costs associated with a physical space.
Global Reach: You can sell to customers around the world, 24/7.
Scalability: It's generally easier to scale an online business as you can tap into multiple sales channels like social media, online marketplaces, and your own website.
Metrics and Data: You can more easily track customer behavior, sales metrics, and other important data online.
      Cons:
Customer Experience: Online, customers can't taste, smell, or experience your coffee first-hand before buying.
Trust: Building customer trust can be more challenging online, especially without any physical presence.
Marketing Costs: Depending on your strategy, digital advertising can get expensive.
Starting with a Physical Stall or Truck:
      Pros:
Customer Interaction: You can build stronger relationships with customers through direct interactions.
Immediate Feedback: You can receive real-time feedback on your products.
Local Branding: It's generally easier to build a strong local brand presence through a physical location.
Product Experience: Letting people experience your coffee first-hand can lead to more loyal customers.
      Cons:
High Overhead: Rent, utilities, furnishings, and more will add to your initial costs.
Limited Reach: Your immediate market is confined to local foot traffic.
Operational Challenges: Staffing, managing inventory, and other day-to-day operations can be more demanding.
      Recommendations:
If budget is a concern, starting online can be less risky and less financially draining. You can always decide to open a physical location later.
If you think your brand relies heavily on customer experience (the aroma of freshly-brewed coffee, the ambiance, etc.), a physical stall or truck can offer benefits that online selling can't match.
You might also consider a hybrid approach, where you validate your product with a physical presence and then transition or expand to online sales.
Traffic generation strategies will vary based on your choice. Online, you'll need a robust digital marketing strategy. Offline, your location, customer service, and local partnerships will be key. A combined approach allows you to build a strong local following while also taking advantage of online's scalability.
