13:00 I'm glad they kept the scene of Iron chanting with the other soldiers. I remember seeing it get turned into meme in the comments section of the manhwa for when there was new chapters released. I even saw it get used in the comments section of other manhwas.
11:17 Jinwoo stabed the boss with the red dagger (Knight Killer) in his right hand, not with the poisonous one (Kasaka's Fang) in his left hand, hence no paralysis or drain. But when he stabbed his stomac later on, he did use the poisonous one, hence why notification windows appeared (even if not really readable)
Fight choreography is handled so well in this show, you can really feel the speed and impact. Up till this episode, pretty forgettable enemies but from on they're sick. Drip woo also starting his sigma grindset now that he's getting noticed. Season is gonna be hype.
i feel like they've unlocked a new level of fight choreo with that arrow scene. i'm predicting that scene would get copied a lot by newer animes that's doing melee combat scene
@@anony_meows Yea the slow-mo into high speed was sweet. Anime is managing to get close to the manwha art quality which is all I wanted, but they're taking it to the next level with animation techniques. Very pleased.
Iirc, the comment about her being underage went over jinwoo's head, because he thought it was about her being a hunter. They mentioned last season how being a hunter allows you to take on jobs even if you are too young to normally do so. So, our confused driver was talking about relationships when mentioning age, but jinwoo was talking about hunter work when commenting back.
10:09 you assumed that he became a lot stronger after becomming a shadow but thats not how shadow extraction work it actually make the people he turn into a shadow weaker than before so that's pretty much the contrary also the roar that he did is not a debuff but a taunt
Btw the reason he could call his dagger back after throwing it was because he used Rulers hand or whatever it was called. He got it from the Igris fight since Igris could also call his sword back
Kim-Chul is already a way better character as a shadow than he was ever going to be as a hunter! Also when he stabbed Baruka at the end. You can see the debuffs pop up. Jinwoo knew Baruka couldn't move that's why he told him it's over and walked off
Yeah, its kinda not explicitly stated in the anime, but pretty sure it was SJW's plan to bait Kim Chul into attacking him so he'd have an excuse to 'defend' himself and resurrect him. He actually needed the firepower to fight Baruka. Granted, if Kim Chul would have been willing to work with SJW from the beginning it wouldn't have been needed.
in the manwha he actually kicks the sword closer to iron before he gets turned to basically push him towards trying to kill him. they also cut out the part where he was disappointed at destroying one of the daggers because he wanted the matching set. wait until the nanomachine anime drops then the arm hunter will show you the true rule of cool
The loveable meme idiot Iron has joined the group finally. xD I only learned in the manwha that he called him Iron because it was translation of kim's last name. lol Also glad the anime kept three shadow warriors as the cheer squad. They may not talk but their cheer reaction is iconic.
Iron's shout, as others said, isn't a debuff, it is more like a provoke. You MUST face Iron, who is a tank. As I recall from the manwha, Kim Chul had the potential to be S rank, or some such, and, by naming him, Sun got extra power from him. 12:10 the ICe Elf looks a lot like Rick from Rick and Morty....
@LucLightWolf121 without spoilers, please, it just raises the question of whether it's a consequence of his new job title, or crossing a certain level threshold. Because even when he was raising his soldiers in the last episode of season 1 the menu was still blue. Now we got reality glitching all funmy with elf boss, and you can stary seeing where I'm going with this. I love the mystery aspect of the show.
@Jackie_Tikki_Tavi Without spoilers, I can't answer that question. And I am saying this as someone who has read the manhwa twice and plays the Solo Leveling Arise gacha game. You will have to see how those questions are answered. I can only say that Jinwoo is built different than most main protagonists on a dnd level. They put a lot of thought into his very existence.
@12:25 there's nothing more badass than turning your back away from your target seconds before it blows up. It's the Iron Man effect. It's just a shame a show of this quality really has such a mid level story, since it's just a power trip fantasy. That said, it's still pure satisfaction for the eyes.
When they become shadows they actually become weaker at first but level up with jinwoo so eventually are way stronger than before. This episode really is bad at showing this but he looks stronger because he regained all his energy instantly since he was fighting for 3 days straight.
I feel bad that everyone but Song-Yi had someone waiting for them on the other side of the gate, welcoming them back lol. Great episode. Topping it off with our boy Jinho misunderstanding everything lol. Gotta love how it went from Jinwoo talking about being upset he couldn't arise Baruka/Barca and then he thinks about the 3rd human he killed - then right to some lighthearted comedy with Jinho.
Can he really be considered a murderer when it was killing people who were trying to kill him and his friends? That's pure self-defense. It isn't his fault the Kim Chul was trying to attack him from behind while he was in a fight now was it? Even Hwang Dongsuk sorry but that name makes me laugh everytime I look at it or write it out) and his friends were trying to execute him and his Guildmaster/little buddy.
i feel like we need reminders that, while this is a fantasy/battle shonen type of anime and most of the times morality is kept really pure/high standard, the solo leveling story is from light novel/manhwa from korea, and from the few times i read manhwas like sweet home, dice, ORV, manager kim, etc, man they are really comfortable walking the grey area of morality.
The anime doesn't focus on it, but he intentionally kicked Kim Chul's sword back to him, knowing he would use it to attack him. In other words he intentionally set up a situation where he had justification to kill him and add him to his army, showing how he's losing more of his humanity.
@@chrisk3127in the anime maybe, but in manhwa and light novel afaik he just dragged the guy into the boss room and the boss and its underlings killed him while jinwoo watches
From the getgo SJW knew that even if he and igris(i refuse to call him igrit) fought baruka they wont be able to beat him thats why when he initial dash, SJW kicked the sword towards KimChul/iron betting on the chance he wakes up and tries to kill him so he can on premise of "self-defense" strike back and convert his corpse into the shadow army even though his abilities and powers will be slightly nerfed until SJW and the shadows grow stronger. One thing that kinda annoyed me is they removed a scene/line/monologue by Baek in which he says he can beat SJW atm but will lose an arm in doing so. Also if you notice when Baek was grabbing SJWs's shoulder if you notice his eyes is glowing. Baek's eyes can gauge how strong a person really is. Rankings in this world is only based on their mana per se. To be considered as an S rank you must have atleast over a certain mana capacity treshold and nothing is measure after that.

Yes, it's called Ruler's Authority (although it depends on various translation)

I didn't see him walking away part when I watched it. Good eye.
Anyone notice the menu interface is now purple instead of the usual blue?
Purple means royalty in some cultures. He's advanced as a Shadow Monarch. Before, he was an initiate. Now he's a ruler.

Solo Leveling Ragnarok

Oh thanks for the heads up, read side story back when it was releasing and it seemed like everything was done.
To be more precise, Ragnarok began: April 10, 2023, but got a webcomic August 1, 2024.
So us that read the webnovel began reading it 2 years ago.
