*no spoilers* 2 things many people missed our misinterpreted in this episode. 1) when he says "3 times", he was recalling how many times he had to kill another human to protect himself. Many people thought it was about the 3 failed attempts at adding the elf to his army, but it was actually him reflecting on how often he had been put into a position where he had to be a murderer to survive. 2) when sung says "so?" about the girl being underaged, it was because sung thought it was a comment about her being a hunter. They addressed the fact that underaged hunters are still allowed to take on jobs in the first season when she signed up for their dungeon clearing missions. Common trope of 2 people discussing VERY different topics without realizing they are not talking about the same thing. He doesn't see the girl the way she sees him.

In Kim Chul's defense, he has been starving and freezing for a full week. His team went in the portal expecting to be able to leave anytime they wanted, so they most likely had supplies for just a 1 day max. When his team faced the elves, they had been already couple of days without food or proper rest, so they were significantly weakened. Then he finds the other group with warm clothes and food (though it was bear meat). I'm not saying he was in the right, or justified, but his anger was reasonable. Also Chul translates to Iron, hence the name.
You also have to keep in mind that, to him, the technology to have an inventory or an always accessible store doesn't exist. Even basic summoning is considered an extremely high level skill, or not possible at all. So the only logical conclusion one could have, with the knowledge available to him, was that they had supplies they withheld from his strike team. Which, to be fair, Jinwoo could've given them equipment. But he's more concerned with keeping his abilities a secret.
Its true but his arrogant actions and decisions is what got them killed in the end. He was to high and mighty since he would be promoted to strike team leader after clearing this gate that he didnt care about basics like setting up a camp in a save place since its a red gate (question is how my chances you have to get said save space) with the low rank hunters preparing shelter while and cooking food that was hunted/looted while the high ranking hunters work on clearing the gate since now they have a place to rest. But he chose to leave the low ranks (who could be able to help in some way) to basically die while the high ranks clear the gate with him. Not to mention he also said not to make a camp and just keep pushing to clear the gate.

When his team were killing the bears in the forest, the team wanted to use their meat to feed and replenish themselves, but Kim forced everyone to press on due to concern of being in hostile territory...plus was just being bossy. But they came across a horde of monsters and the elves and due to them being tired and hungry, they didn't have the strength to fight back. Meaning his team died because of him. But Kim is a douchebag so he'd rather blame the weaklings even though he's the one who left them to die.
exactly..I love all the subtle clues they did though.. with the red eyes echoing the spell and seeming to piss him off with a "you'll die first" showing he drew his aggro

Funny thing about him knowing the language. He has an ability that makes his immune to any and all debuffs and since hearing a new language causes confusion the ability and system automatically translated it in order to negate the debuff
The E-rank girl clinging to the B-rank healer was such a cute and good detail. She is obviously going to be scared of the situation she is in being in a dungeon at least two ranks above her, AND it turned into a red gate which just bumped the difficulty up even higher. Then suddenly someone who is 4 ranks higher comes screaming at her out of the woods brandishing a weapon and basically saying "I will kill you for xyz reason" while the only person who would even have a chance at fighting back is a bad class matchup. Jinwoo who is the only person she knows from the party is off doing god knows what, and again she is in a scary, dangerous, and WAY out of her depth situation it makes sense that she would latch onto the only other woman who has more experience, and is a higher rank than her until he (Jinwoo) got back. Good on her though for recognizing her situation but still being interested, and inquisitive about their situation EG: "Ms. Heejin, is this what all Hunter battles are like"
The reason that Baek Yoon-Ho backs down is because he used [Eyes of the Beast] - one of his passive skills - and determined that if he and Jin-Woo fought, Baek would win, but he'd lose an arm or leg in the process. It gives us a sense of Jin-Woo and Yoon-Ho's relative levels - while Baek is S-rank, he's relatively low as S-ranks go.

I think you're not too far off, after the altar he's part of the system, and so are the magical beasts, so they're sort of the same thing, it's just that the magical beasts are told by the system to kill those not part of the system, I'd bet.

Not really a spoiler, but there he explains that he doesn't want anyone to know of his ability until he is certain that there is nobody that could rival his strength (until he is on S rank level). His ability to continuously get stronger while other's strength is fixed is just that lucrative, so it's him being careful. The decision to split up and basically abandon "the weak" to their faiths was entirely their initiative. Yes, he could be proactive in prioritizing saving everyone's lives, but the risk of others finding out about him is potentially very dangerous until he's the strongest

The real kicker is that his team wanted to gut and skin the bears to have food but Kim refused and said to press on. He was the reason they were starving.. the could have had plenty of food.. it makes the excuses in this episode even more crazy

the funny thing is solo leveling really made necromancer cool for a while there was so many necromancing novels and manwha that came out because how much love his story got
the Ice Elves really is a great start to this arc for Jinwoo, because the first season focused on him getting stronger and gaining the power to survive as a hunter. he's at a point currently where he can at least handle himself fairly well. maybe not the strongest, but not a joke either. and yet, with the Ice Elves, the story really starts to show how this new life of his as this unorthodox Hunter is starting to change him. he still cares about others, hell that's what he's using this power for, is to protect people...but he's also willing to kill for power. and gaining Iron showed just how much wasn't off the table. he did it with other monsters, Igris, & the Ice Bears. killing and making a shadow out of a human? kinda makes you realize just how real this is for them in this world, how Gate monsters, another race, and Humans, are all capable of becoming another one of his soldiers. and how limitless his powers make him come off as. and him realizing where his limits are right now just put him back in that idea of him still being weak and needing to get stronger. and details, like the Ice Elf Leader's "refusal" to elaborate on who or what, is a nice little detail if you think about it with that context. and the fact that they even said "there's a voice in our heads telling us to kill humans, but we don't hear it from yours", both of the Elves and Sung have something abnormal with them. Kim Chul is basically "Pride Go-eth before the fall." while the anime doesn't focus too much on him, the Manhua showed how arrogant and closed minded he really was, and when things went south, he was willing to blame everyone and everything else for how bad things got in his eyes, instead of himself. and instead of realizing who the real enemy was, he instead went after Jinwoo, and became the 3rd human life to be taken by his hand.
just an observation, but how have you not noticed that every one except jinwoo and the monsters are basically npc's, thats why jinwoo is the only one that can level up, i mean when was the last time you saw a group of npc's in a game level up.
One thing I'll say, and I might be in the minority, I did find it lowkey disturbing that Sung Jinwoo just casually killed that A rank hunter, and basically made him his slave. Very interesting for what it means for his character as more of this type of shit happens, as hinted by that hunter's association guy Jinwoo killed last season (I'm legit terrible with Korean names, I only remember Jinwoo so far), but still kind of disturbing ngl.

The anime obviously can't go as in debt as a book, or a comic. Since they have limited run time and budget. But they are doing well enough in the physical story telling. Though some lines could stay. I also wanna rewatch in Dub. Cause hearing the editing and the way the VA's just work....I think its the better version between the two. Also for the ending, she's 18 at this point in the story and he is 20. She's still in school so underaged could be from that???
kinda of sucks did not get the Boss Ice Elf as a shadow but he did get Tank(Bear Boss) and Iron(Mr. Kim) plus a few levels so not a over all bad haul. It not a game but they not allowed to speak of things so glitched him from talking. you learn more later.

The E-rank girl clinging to the B-rank healer was such a cute and good detail. She is obviously going to be scared of the situation she is in being in a dungeon at least two ranks above her, AND it turned into a red gate which just bumped the difficulty up even higher. Then suddenly someone who is 4 ranks higher comes screaming at her out of the woods brandishing a weapon and basically saying "I will kill you for xyz reason" while the only person who would even have a chance at fighting back is a bad class matchup. Jinwoo who is the only person she knows from the party is off doing god knows what, and again she is in a scary, dangerous, and WAY out of her depth situation it makes sense that she would latch onto the only other woman who has more experience, and is a higher rank than her until he (Jinwoo) got back.
Good on her though for recognizing her situation but still being interested, and inquisitive about their situation EG: "Ms. Heejin, is this what all Hunter battles are like"

It gives us a sense of Jin-Woo and Yoon-Ho's relative levels - while Baek is S-rank, he's relatively low as S-ranks go.

I'm fairly certain the story isn't going in this direction, but wouldn't it be interesting if JinWoo doesn't register as human because the real JinWoo died on that altar? What if he's just a magical beast mimicking him so thoroughly that he doesn't even know it?

The summoning of "Iron" who was once human is largely misunderstood. Yes it's unethical, but Jinwoo literally gave him a chance. Instead of helping Jinwoo fight the boss, he went straight for our boy, earning him a place in the army
Yeeeeea-NO. i understand your perspective but you've also got to add that Jin-Woo should have revealed his powers if he wanted to truly keep them ALL safe. The others that died might have been jerks or maybe a few were just scared we will never know but abandoning them like that is still psychopathic when you can clearly just demonstrate your strength and keep them all safe.

You can argue he gave them the jackets and food but the people he gave them to should also be scum that die by your logic because the Healer with held the info that he was strong and the scared guy originally wanted to go with the others.

Those people are part of a guild, if the wrong people find out, he/his family can be in danger. His ability to continuously get stronger while other's strength is fixed is just that lucrative, so it's him being careful.
The decision to split up and basically abandon "the weak" to their faiths was entirely their initiative. Yes, he could be proactive in prioritizing saving everyone's lives, but the risk of others finding out about him is potentially very dangerous until he's the strongest

That reason is sadly just a poorly written excuse by the author to extend the use of the "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Badass" Trope (Look it up, a TON of Manwha use this) moments like these. Look I get the reasoning but they could have also written it out like I said and kept them quiet either by having them be afraid of him and/ or them gaining respect for him.
For how much the MC has leveled up perception/sense one would think he would notice there is yet another girl with a crush on him, and hey, if she can go to life threatening raids then she can date the MC, it's only fair XD

Why she's surprised that the monsters from the hate are connected to the system? Sung jin woo got his new powers from a special dungeon. The system interact with gates, items, monsters. They've been shown to be connected. The system/game is like a hidden feature.
to be fair I think she saw the gates from the system and the normal ones as separate things considering most notifications in S1 happened in the instanced dungeons from the system. I'm keen to see her reaction to what happens later but it may take a couple seasons

not really a spoiler, but in the manwha, Kim Chul's team faced the ice bears and Kim defeated all of them alone. The real kicker is that his team wanted to gut and skin the bears to have food but Kim refused and said to press on. He was the reason they were starving.. the could have had plenty of food.. it makes the excuses in this episode even more crazy

the Ice Elves really is a great start to this arc for Jinwoo, because the first season focused on him getting stronger and gaining the power to survive as a hunter. he's at a point currently where he can at least handle himself fairly well.
maybe not the strongest, but not a joke either. and yet, with the Ice Elves, the story really starts to show how this new life of his as this unorthodox Hunter is starting to change him. he still cares about others, hell that's what he's using this power for, is to protect people...but he's also willing to kill for power. and gaining Iron showed just how much wasn't off the table. he did it with other monsters, Igris, & the Ice Bears. killing and making a shadow out of a human? kinda makes you realize just how real this is for them in this world, how Gate monsters, another race, and Humans, are all capable of becoming another one of his soldiers. and how limitless his powers make him come off as.
and him realizing where his limits are right now just put him back in that idea of him still being weak and needing to get stronger. and details, like the Ice Elf Leader's "refusal" to elaborate on who or what, is a nice little detail if you think about it with that context. and the fact that they even said "there's a voice in our heads telling us to kill humans, but we don't hear it from yours", both of the Elves and Sung have something abnormal with them.
Kim Chul is basically "Pride Go-eth before the fall." while the anime doesn't focus too much on him, the Manhua showed how arrogant and closed minded he really was, and when things went south, he was willing to blame everyone and everything else for how bad things got in his eyes, instead of himself. and instead of realizing who the real enemy was, he instead went after Jinwoo, and became the 3rd human life to be taken by his hand.
not the third life, just the third situation where he had to kill. its like his 8th or 9th kill.

Very interesting for what it means for his character as more of this type of shit happens, as hinted by that hunter's association guy Jinwoo killed last season (I'm legit terrible with Korean names, I only remember Jinwoo so far), but still kind of disturbing ngl.

kinda of sucks did not get the Boss Ice Elf as a shadow but he did get Tank(Bear Boss) and Iron(Mr. Kim) plus a few levels so not a over all bad haul. It not a game but they not allowed to speak of things so glitched him from talking. you learn more later.
