For people nagging in the comments, this is for you:
Singapore is aiming to become a city in a garden.
If you ever have been to Singapore you'd find luscious green almost anywhere within your vicinity. The drive through the highways are littered with trees and flowers. Your walk from your apartment to your nearest public transport is ALSO filled with trees providing shade, and lots of grass and flowers.
Animals are abundant in the wildlife reserves in singapore, and you often see monkeys, chipmunks and iguanas and plenty of birds roaming around Singapore.
The trees in this VERTICAL space are meant to do exactly what they are doing. Provide more greenery and shade in their specific areas. This is Singapore, its 600sqkm wide....... Top 5 most expensive cities in the world to live in. They're doing a great job implementing various ways to keep the city closer to nature with their limited land and resources.
Yeah correct. Cities like Riyadh, Bangalore and Melbourne are trying to follow on the footsteps of Singapore.

Tall metal structures with plants and animals in a city…it looks like an excellent way for both humans and animals/plants to live together in urban areas…
The narration is the best as well…🤗
Mosquitoes....
most animals can't live in city even with some structure like that, it increase the populations of some animals that like it and are then are wining the competition over their fellow competitor because they become numerous and the species who is outnumber slowly dissapear, its observed with a lot of species, specialy bird on urban area, you see this with piegeons, structure like this only makes it a little better. anaway to make it short even with structure like this, species dissapear and a lot of animals diversity is lost. so its an exellent way for a few species to live together with human, good idea too for that and for other reasons.
this is so delusionally stupid... no one taught ole Dave about Nazi agriculture and Living Soil. What a damn shame.
Is this gonna blow up?
But it's not for people that so squeamish.
Remember that.. when u have a plant/tree, that area also will be the home of insects. Ants, termites, and even roaches & mosquitoes.
Some ppl hate bugs. They even can't stand the lines of ants. They need to live somewhere.

Come to London, Ontario, Canada. Our city is named "The Forest City". We've got this crazy thing going where there are trees growing everywhere except they are on the ground where rain water naturally collects so we don't have to pump the water up a sky scraper.
I LOVE that!!
You have to pump water up sky scrapers anyways unless those places have some bizarrely setup sky scrapers with zero plumbing
London, ON, is a small city and has very different needs and capacities than cities with geographical limitations like Singapore or Manhattan Island
@@cheerymike6166 yeah but only as much water as people are already using. Do we really need to pump water up for trees to consume too? I don't think so personally but I'm just a dude, not an expert
What you actually have is a thriving soil that allows plants like trees to grow and feed off its nutrient web. The trees and plants themselves are COMPLETELY meaningless. The living soil is what matters. And the vast majority of the living soil is succumbing to desertification. When the soils all die (it's already happening) we all die. And this could happen as soon as 2110 and result in global human extinction by 2150. Plants and animals are meaningless. The trillions upon trillions of microbial animals that make up living healthy soil are what allows ALL other life on land to exist. There is no human alternative. The Nazi Agriculture model we are using is poisoning the land faster for short term gains in production.
Singapore's at least 30 years ahead of everyone in terms of infrastructure & technology.

Birmingham needs this. It's so grey there, all concrete and asphalt. Though one small nice if not necessarily planned features is that one of the Moor Street platforms is unused and the area where the track is/was has been allowed to grow over providing a lovely strip of garden with wildflowers, possibly encouraged.
Create the space and animals will come, what a beautiful statement.

David Attenborough is and will always be one of the greatest men in the history, in his own unique way. How he shares his knowledge and vision of this world, its just very sad that not enough people cares.
I live in Singapore. But I do not think that we are saving the world. For example, Singapore is highly airconditioned and this is not the most earth friendly thing to do. Singapore may be taking a step in the right direction by planting a lot of trees, but unless we can come out with renewable, safe and clean energy sources, this does not offset the carbon footprint that we leave behind.
that's mainly due to the geographical location, though. in a slightly colder climate this would have a phenomenonal impact.
thanks for your perspective
The rules on car ownership are hugely beneficial too.
@@ttttttttttttttttt. not entirely, Singapore is so air conditioned that the government recommends you bring a jacket into stores in the summer
planting trees is meaningless, it's the soil that's dead and rapidly dying off. Without the soil, no trees, no food, no anything. We have to save it right now are humanity is on a countdown to extinction. This is not a drill. Putting trees on buildings is for spoiled rich assholes who want to look at trees from their skyscraper windows.
