I actually have Joico Moisture Recovery a try because of one of your previous videos and I LOVE it for my clients! I think they may have made it thicker and with my cones since they’ve recently introduced the Joico Hydrasplash. They probably amped up the moisture there so they could squeeze in another line. I find that I’m liking Hydrasplash for blowouts for clients with fine/normal hair and Moisture Recovery for natural styling and blowouts for coarse hair.

They changed the K-Pak too, super depressing for me cause I'm nervous to try it lol !! I am thinking of switching brands. Your hair is soo beautiful tho, I like both sides but it seems like the new formula works for you! Btw I really enjoyed this video, had a cup of coffee and watched the whole thing. Your voice is soo soothing and I love your mannerisms, explanations, your whole energy. I wish I could visit you for a trim lol I'd probably fall asleep in the chair cause your voice is so relaxing :p Unintentional ASMR for sure!!!

Wonderful review. I have the new formula. I went and purchased upon your recommendation from your class. Best purchase ever. I loved it so much that I had my god daughter order me some gallons. I watched so many video great reviews about Joico moisture recovery but was reluctant to buy yet another shampoo/conditioner as I have six different sets already & don’t want to be a product junkie (too late 😜🤪😝). I have locs but I wanted to try since I have colored locs even I know they have a color protection line(I need a lot of moisture) but I didn’t know they changed the formula until I looked up the product and some people were complaining about it online and I’ve never tried Jioco anything even when I had loose hair. Another locd UA-camr uses joico but she didn’t say which one. I’m gonna try the Joico defy damage line an 2 of the Redken lines.
Great review! I've only tried Joico K-Pak Intense Hydrating Conditioner so far. I use Redken for everything else. I have fine (natural) hair with average density. It seems as though the new packaging/formula weighed the hair down more. Nothing wrong with that if someone needs it (coarse, high density etc.) for their hair. I don't think this would work for me with flat ironed hair but maybe when I'm wearing my hair natural kinky/curly and could use the weight.
Yes, the balm is surprisingly good even with the formula change. The old formula only edges it out slightly because I feel like it was a tad more hydrating and detangling. Haven't tried the new shampoo yet and I don't use regular conditioners.

There is no leave in. The Hydra Splash line is the one with a leave in and that one is not that good. The Defy Damage leave in is bomb on highly textured hair though.
I'm wondering about their COLORFUL line, too. Just bought some with new packaging and it doesn't smell the same as the original packaging products (shampoo & conditioner). Does anyone know if they changed the formula for COLORFUL shampoo & conditioner?

The old formulation is better. I’ve been using the same brand for decades and switched over the mask leaves a film no matter how little you use. Jayco stop messing with the their lines
I'm mad i purchased the Joico moisture recovery conditioner and it came in a thick yellow consistency instead of blue. I have to purchase elsewhere now *sigh* people smh
Is the conditioner in a tube or a bottle? The deep conditioner is thick and yellow and comes in a tube. If that's the one you have, give it a try. That's the joico conditioner I use and it's wonderful.

Yeah. I looked at the ingredients and it did have some form of keratin in the middle of the ingredients list.

Go with the balm. It's thicker and more moisturizing.
Their products look like they do wonderful but im not sure for low porosity hair. they never come up as recommended for us lopo divas
