- In this episode, I am using my Yaesu FTDX-10, but the simple truth is: This works for many modern day HF Transceivers, to include the Icom IC7300.
In this episode we talk bout the Band Stack Operation and how YOU may confuse this feature as a BUG. Join me!

I stumbled upon your FTdx10 Band Stack video yesterday.
Yet AGAIN, Ham Radio Dude has changed my life! I could never figure out wtf that is…dumb name in my opinion… NOW, I know what it is, how to use it, and why I thought there was a bug or something when the radio changed settings every time I tapped the same mode button. Thanks as always!!!!
My pleasure
Thank you man. Saved me lot of time guesing how to setup properly. I find also more video from you for Yaesy FTdx10 , very useful for me. Big TNX for you. You are the man!
Wow now im able to wrap my head around that. Thank You
Thanks Dude. Reminds me that I need to learn them on the 7300.
This was helpful, thanks Dude.
So if I understand three frequency in the stacking modes. That is for each band.
Outstanding
That's correct!
The FT 991 does this too. I use a couple on voice and one on cw.
Was Andy out sick today? I’ve thought I was the only one to beat Andy, lol!

Hi Dude. I heave a FT-710 new since a couple of Days and i got also a Problem with Bandstack Funktionality. What´s about the QMB Butten?
Nobody talk about the QMB Button on this Radio´s. The Manual let me confused return. A long press on this Button will be save 5 different Frequenzy´s but it´s not work. Long press on this Button give me only QMB 1, 2-5 coming not on the Display. What´s going wrong with YAESU? Sorry for my englisch.

Not first but before Andy.
Before Andy is before first ;)
Hey Dude, are you still rockin the FTDX10? I have my sights squarely on getting one in a few weeks. Wondering if something else has grabbed your heart strings lately?
Hahaha Well you know me. There's always something grabbing my attention. I did actually end up going with a flex radio. Flex 6400. My primary reason for that was it's remote control capabilities. The FTDX10 just wasn't getting used here because of my HOA. So what I ended up deciding on was the 6400 remotely and then here at the house, an FT991 which allows me to have HF at very absolute low power and vhf with an attic antenna. I don't think there's anything wrong with the DX10 though. Based upon my random thoughts, I have a hard time understanding why anybody would go with the 710 over the DX 10, but maybe we will get some clarification from someone. I don't think you'll be disappointed though. Cheers!
Not available after latest update.
First - And my 7100 does this to some degree also.
My 7300 did also
I think the difference between the icom and the yeasu though, is the icom makes it more obvious which band stack operation you're in.. thanks for watching, LC
If you tune on a stack, does it save that also?
Good question. I do apologize I cannot answer that as I had to give up my DX10 to fund more radios. I want to say yes but couldn't accurately say.
Great tip, thanks Dude. 73 M6THQ
Glad to help!
