Just learning how to play pokemon tcg. Was looking for decks that had pokemon I liked. Started looking into Chien Pao. Definitely looks like a fun and engaging deck to play. Thanks
In the last game i think you could win in the bidoof turn. You had 2 cards you could dicard with superior energy retrieval and a nest ball. Get 4 energies and bench chien-pao. Retrieve bidoof, chien-pao on active, get 2 energies from deck using ability. Total 5 energies on hand, 300 damage, knock-out on roaring moon. Excelent video! Thanks :)
Personally prefer Chien Pao over charizard as it just has a lot more choice with single prize attackers, you have kyogre and greninja, even the single prize Kyreum. Helping the prize trade. Plus Iron hands. This may be the next Deck I switch to after urshifu rotates. Although I appreciate why charizard does so well, it's just not as fun.
I have been running this deck without Manaphy and been fine. It was taking my bench when needed and I have been using escape rope instead of cross switch with a bosses order. Bosses order has come in clutch so many times with Iron hands for end game.
I am currently building a Chien Pao! In the meantime I am having a lot of fun running Quaquaval EX with the Baxcallibur, highly recommend for a relaxing fun game!
Eh I mean I know in theory the iron hands helps cover the stupid lost box and other gimmick single prize decks out there, but I still haven’t updated mine. It just makes it feel more clunky having it and electric energy in there for some reason to me compared to the older top 8 builds.
The reason it's the play is actually because it is more consistent than canceling cologne! Think about it, the iron hands can be found with 12 cards in your deck! 4x nest ball, 4x ultra ball and 4x irida into one of the former, other than that you only need ur lightning in the discard and u good to go with a single superior retrieval (bonus point u can set it up ahead of time to be iono safe). With canceling collogne u'd need collogne, double crossswitcher and potentially superior retrieval. It is so incredibly clunky, esp. Finding everything in the early turns before all of our opponents mons get evolved.
I've watched this entire video through a few times, inspired and learning. My first local tournament my Bax got sniped/gusted in a couple games and the deck fell hard on its face. Is there a contingency plan when CP gets shut down by losing Bax, or is that just the Achilles heel?
I may be out of line for this and not sure what your goal as a player is. You could be putting out videos for content, but if you were looking for improvement, I think you can slow down a bit and a lot of your plays could've been more decisive by checking your discard pile more and early prize checks. Thank you for putting up this video!
Ive seen a bunch of games played with iron hands. Ive never seen it used, let alone used successfully. Is it really necessary? Is there nothing better to play?
I really feel like Palkia is the answer for many cases, especially since it's bulky, hits hard, hits early, and can take the place of energy retrieval. I've also discovered Blastoise EX lately and wondering if that could also do.
I've been playing with the Chien Pao Palkia Deck, I changed some of my deck to match this deck more closely, but Im still running 1 Palkia / Palkia VStar to get access to the VStar Power. I took off 2 Pokestops out of the 4 to include Palkia. I also am only running 1 bidoof / bibarrel instead of 2, I replaced those with a Berry Charm Tool to give a basic pokemon like Chien Pao or Radiant Grininja an extra 50 HP and a Professor's Research to discard my hand and draw 7 more if I need to. I'm only running 3 nest balls instead of 4 because I replaced the 4th one with an extra lightning energy to possibly use the first attack on the Iron Hands Card. I'm playing in a standard tournament on saturday and a league cup on sunday and am excited to try this deck.
Hi, I have a idea for the chien Pao deck: You can put this 2 Pokemon in you deck: Hisuian Basculin (basic) Hisuian Basculegion (phase1) the phase 1 need to be from lost zone Serie pls do a "❤" or tell in the comment that you read that
I Play Chien pao with 3 kyurem. For 1 water Energy it has the Same „Ability“. You Need no Stage 1 or 2 Pokémon that make the Match faster and easyer. IMO ☺️
Some things to focus on: - Target down the Frigibax/Baxcalibur, especially if they only have 1 down. They can’t reload energy without it - Hand disruption like Iono or Judge can reduce their hand size while making it difficult to pull off the combos required for the deck to work - Ability blocking like Path to the Peak (pre-rotation) and Fluttermane (post-rotation) among others to slow Chien-Pao down - Item mill like Miss Fortune Sisters or the upcoming Eri card can help get rid of key resources such as Superior Energy Retrieval
@@tonydiazist Mimikyu can get knocked out by Greninja or Baxcalibur. Worse yet, Greninja can KO 2 Mimikyu in one shot. Klefki would slow down the energy gathering from Chien-Pao, but it can't stop Baxcalibur from attaching energy. It also shuts off your basic Pokemon's abilities, limiting its use to only certain decks. Klefki could certainly buy you some time, but Klefki alone is unlikely to be a silver bullet.

I came first place at a league cup with this deck it's broken

Super fun deck. Hard hitting and fast. Protect those lil frigibax early! Pray your first on mirror matches.
2nd major win, Chien Pao won in Singapore back in November, but I guess everyone kept forgetting about that.
Working on a variation to have autonomous shooters and detach from the combo. Great video, thank you Jett!

I can't believe you won the second match. Master!

Believe me... The Iron hands ex is more often than not the winning piece, or at least a comeback move!

The entire deck hinges on Baxcalibur. Always try to get at least 2 Frigibax down so that if you lose one, you can get the other one set up.
Palkia V star is a good way to load up 3 from grave
Could u have discarded 1 energy instead of Iron Hands at 44:09? Because you were only able to take 3 back anyway.

Palkia/VS makes sense, especially with a Research. I almost wanna cut a CP and a Rod just for another Palkia/VS
Hi, I have a idea for the chien Pao deck:

Hisuian Basculin (basic)
Hisuian Basculegion (phase1)

It's a tough deck to beat if you don't get control of it early.

Finally
how the heck do you counter this? or slow it down
