Finally managed to convice some people in my area to build pauper decks! Its been way too long since i had the chance to really play the format. Had to replace almost half my Tortured Existence defk, and finally had a reason to build UR Thunderous Wrath
@@rickmel-q7m oh gooood no! imagine 10€ packs with nothing but powercrept commons lmao. would be kinda sick tho. okay sorry, dont wanna give them any ideas
I got into pauper because of your videos! And it's been so fun! Pauper is easily the best 60 card format in magic right now and I don't see that changing anytime soon!
I absolutely Love the Pauper Format. Honestly, I've only been playing it for half a year but I already have 7 Different Decks, all with there own side boards. I couldn't imagine doing this with other formats.
Not sure who'll read this but another amazing thing about the current meta of Pauper is it's VERY rock-paper-scissors, which means a lot of these decks have great matchups against some, but bad matchups against others. It makes local metalgaming super interesting. See a lot of Terror locally? Play Mono Red, Orzhov Blade, or Gruul Ramp! See a lot of Gruul Ramp? Play Broodscale! It's awesome, the format is so, so sick and has been for a while now.
So happy to see some proselytizing by prof of this fantastic format. I play a little bit, really love the format online. But all it'd take for me to dive deep into the format is a lot more opportunities to play in paper. Because that's sorely missing, as it is for most formats it feels like but esp for pauper. Once that happens, I'd really enjoy it. Very important you talk about it and put a spotlight on the format like this!! ❤❤
Pauper has been a great way to play 60-card 1v1 again. The brews are fun and it's affordable to just make a janky $20 deck that may or may not be good, but it let's you explore ways to make the deck better for affordable prices
As a new player I made a standard deck with bloomburrow cards, only to then see that everyone locally only plays commander. Then I made my commander deck by grabbing some more singles and boosters. And the lost terribly to a guy with a LOTR deck who got pretty mad I wasn't playing at his pace. 🫠 Honestly I want to play standard so I might just switch to playing on Arena.
Pauper is the best format. Gameplay feels like old school Magic and the meta is diverse. Iconic cards like Lightning Bolt, Brainstorm, and Counterspell are staples. And WOTC is not financially incentivized to ruin it
I was a legacy and vintage player only but nobody in my town can afford or play those formats so I switched to pauper and I'm glad I did. First off it's cheap to play and way more people play it where I live. I do think it's one of the best formats for magic.
Pauper is absolutely incredible! I used to be mostly a Limited and EDH player, but I've completely switched to Pauper. Most of my friends now have at least 3 Pauper decks, and our local FNM has almost entirely transitioned to Pauper events. We even have tournaments in Poland that gather over 100 players! While it might not be quite as big as Paupergeddon in Italy, it's incredibly inspiring to see so many people, especially newcomers, participating in these major events.
Love pauper, one of my all time fav formats. Idk why it's so hard to get people to play, the power levels are what most people say they want. Full deck for $60-100 bucks and you can bling them out for fun.
As someone who plays a lot of pauper (every week sometimes more then once a week) I’m very surprised writhing chrysalis wasn’t mentioned once. The card is the best/worst MH3 common it’s pushed to hell and back.
For commander I’ve been doing a mix of real cards and pauper , I buy precons and sell the 10-15 most expensive cards and most of the time that will cover the cost of the precon, then I proxy the cards I sold . Now I’m not sure how well people will take it at lgs I haven’t been to own yet 😅
MH3 really was a great set for pauper. I've recently switched exclusively to pauper and the possibilities are soooooo varied and interesting. I love the freedom of expression it gives me.
Regarding the "either/or" for red and black Skyfisher decks, my favorite pauper deck says "why not both". From what I've seen, combined with a Wildfire package, adding both to turn it into a Mardu deck is not only pretty easy, but makes the deck 10 times more capable to pivot from early game to long-term grind than with either of the two double-color combinations :)
I had no idea that Atog was your favourite card! I thought I was the only one! (thinks back wistully to his 1994/95 Atog constructed deck that dominated locally)
Always great to see such a diversity of decks in the format! Any thoughts towards doing a similar update video for Premodern? Or maybe even some gameplay on a future Shuffle Up? I know you're familiar with the format, but it's really been growing the last few years (just ask Rebel or Mengu).
I buy sleeves and bulk cards from my LGS and print proxies at the library for about 40¢/9 cards. I just started but I have 4 commander decks and can host people who don’t usually play :)
Or you can get a full proxy deck for even less! :) Like, barely 20$ as well as some extra for shipping. If someone doesn't let you play with good quality proxy cards? They're not worth playing with anyway. Fun is had when you and others join for - well - the fun, and not who has paid the most for their deck. Stay crunchy.
Pauper box with 6 decks, is it balanced? I'm putting together a Pauper box with a selection of decks that are balanced in power level, so our group can enjoy a variety of matchups. Here's what I have so far: White Weenie Izzet Skred Golgari Dredge Rakdos Madness Orzhov Blade Gruul Ramp Do you think this lineup offers a good balance for competitive play? Are there any key archetypes I’m missing, or are some strategies overrepresented? I’d really appreciate any feedback! P.S.: should I wait until the release of Foundations to order cards? I imagine decks might change.
Now hear me out As a Segway into pauper if your play group plays mostly commander suggest that everyone build a pauper commander deck you pick a commander and can only use commons in the 99
Hey prof english question as its not my first language When can we use «I were» instead of «I was» Thats such a random question but thank you in advance!

I got into pauper because of your videos! And it's been so fun! Pauper is easily the best 60 card format in magic right now and I don't see that changing anytime soon!
The best way to play any format for the cheapest is by proxying.
Pauper is the best! I met the prof at a pauper 1k back in the day. Definitely my favorite format
If pauper was more popular I would still be playing MtG. Thank you Tolarian for continuing to promote this format!
The Chaos tournament at MagicCon was awesome! Ty for hosting it!! Video is informative and interesting as always! ❤
I absolutely Love the Pauper Format. Honestly, I've only been playing it for half a year but I already have 7 Different Decks, all with there own side boards. I couldn't imagine doing this with other formats.
Perfect timing! There's a pauper tournament at my LGS after the release
This is a great video. I’m new to magic and am overwhelmed by the amount of formats available. This positive explanation is what I needed!
Turbo fog is so cool, its nice when i want to take a break from lantern control in modern
Not sure who'll read this but another amazing thing about the current meta of Pauper is it's VERY rock-paper-scissors, which means a lot of these decks have great matchups against some, but bad matchups against others.

Pauper is awesome!! I just got my deck and convinced some players to play a tourney at a local LGS. Go Pauper!
Loved the video! Now talk about Pauper Commander!
Praying that people at my LGS see this and start playing pauper 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
$30 vintage is super fun!
Seconded! It's definitely my favorite budgeted format and my favorite way to play magic in general!
$30 Vintage is easily the best format and more people need to check it out!
P R E A C H. Badass format. Can post the discord link if this comment gets enough traction!
Strong disagree. It’s a collection un-fun cards banned in other formats combined with bad mana. Hogaak, Nadu, Cranial Plating
And every deck gets a miser Sol Ring 😑
So happy to see some proselytizing by prof of this fantastic format. I play a little bit, really love the format online.

Yes! I love the Professor's Pauper videos
Pauper at Vegas was so good. Despite glee being the big bad at the Pauper cup, boggles, Blue Terror, Dredge, Gates, so many decks were there.
pauper is so amazing! thanks for promoting the format!
Thank you! I love pauper and pauper commander.
This should be the low bracket in the bracket system. Official support!!!!
Pauper has been a great way to play 60-card 1v1 again. The brews are fun and it's affordable to just make a janky $20 deck that may or may not be good, but it let's you explore ways to make the deck better for affordable prices
I want to play more paper pauper around here, but everyone just plays flippin' commander. You'd think 15 dollar competitive decks would be a draw.
Been playing for over a decade, still don’t get the hype about commander.

Love Pauper! I wish I had paper tournaments near me.
Be the change you want to see. I had to step up locally but in doing so, was able to bring together Pauper players.
Pauper has the healthiest meta of any constructed format, START PLAYING PAUPER YESTERDAY PEOPLE!!!
I was a legacy and vintage player only but nobody in my town can afford or play those formats so I switched to pauper and I'm glad I did. First off it's cheap to play and way more people play it where I live. I do think it's one of the best formats for magic.
Super cool to see more Pauper stuff from you prof!
I began playing pauper a few years ago, brother, its still pretty expensive :D
Just got my tokens from the kickstarter! They all look great! 🎉🎉

Thanks for making more Pauper content. Please keep making more.
Love pauper, and I have a ton of decks in paper and on MTGO. Prof showed it to me, and I've loved it ever since!
Yessss let's expand the Pauper player base! Great video as always, Professor 💙
Prof, you did it again! I’m going to build a Pauper deck. I’ll even say “blah blah blah.”
Thank you, Prof!

As someone who plays a lot of pauper (every week sometimes more then once a week) I’m very surprised writhing chrysalis wasn’t mentioned once. The card is the best/worst MH3 common it’s pushed to hell and back.
Proxying is the only acceptable answer to this prompt.
EXACTLY!!
This is the way.
Or Tabletop Simulator
For commander I’ve been doing a mix of real cards and pauper , I buy precons and sell the 10-15 most expensive cards and most of the time that will cover the cost of the precon, then I proxy the cards I sold . Now I’m not sure how well people will take it at lgs I haven’t been to own yet 😅
Love me some paper pauper!!! I’m trying to get my playgroup to shuffle up the battlebox I’ve made over the last year!
The funny thing is you absolutely know that that old phone is not merely a prop--it's Prof's actual phone from back in the day.
Pauper is honestly the best format I've played, I can't get enough
MH3 really was a great set for pauper.
I've recently switched exclusively to pauper and the possibilities are soooooo varied and interesting.
I love the freedom of expression it gives me.
Pouring one out for our lost grinny friend, Atog :'-(
got off work an hour and a half ago, earliest I've ever been to a TCC upload lol
13:26 the pain is just too much...😅
By far my absolute favorite format!!!! I love commander and modern, but paper.....❤❤❤❤❤❤
I still got cards to the old pauper elves and pauper dredge decks that were featured on TCC years ago!
It warms my soul to see Glint Hawk and Kor Skyfisher featured in 2024 on a Prof video.
Pauper? I hear the Pauper Format Panel are neat and smart and handsome an--
Regarding the "either/or" for red and black Skyfisher decks, my favorite pauper deck says "why not both". I’ve played Pauper Commander and it was alot of fun.
I’m lucky enough to have an LGS that hosts pauper weekly, legacy lite has changed my life for the better
Pauper is so much fun. I wish that I had local events in my area.
Love pauper, would love to see a video on Pauper EDH
I had no idea that Atog was your favourite card! I thought I was the only one! (thinks back wistully to his 1994/95 Atog constructed deck that dominated locally)
Pauper commander no doubt is the most fun and balanced format imo

when I read the title I said " use someone else's decks"
"Give theft a try!" 😅
Buying singles that are less then 3-4$ and proxying everything else.
Pauper for life, heck to the expensive formats
Proxies. The answer is proxies
Pauper Commander is awesome!
I buy sleeves and bulk cards from my LGS and print proxies at the library for about 40¢/9 cards. I just started but I have 4 commander decks and can host people who don’t usually play :)
GL to pauper players when they create something like pauper masters and powercreep your decks out of existence lol
Pauper Commander Shuffle Up and Play PLEASEEEE
I actually played in my first pauper event last night manged 2nd of 8 using delver which was super fun
I am proud to announce that I proxy all my Pauper decks.
Pauper is best described as legacy answers for limited threats.
Or, buy tabletop simulator for 20 dollars, and play any format, any cards, with anybody for the rest of time.
Frequently on sale for 5$ too.
a deck i play that the prof didn't mention is altar tron. it uses ashnod's altar and 2 myr retrievers to create a loop
Holy shit a video about the only format I play
I love pauper it's so much fun to brew around otherwise janky cards
Time to build a Pauper battle box.
Proxying is the best way to play, regardless of format, whenever possible
PLEASE do a game of Pauper Commander on Shuffle Up And Play sometime 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Answer to video title: proxies
Pauper... where the only thing "rare" are the bans!
Hell yeah pauper gang rising
Pauper is the best!
Pauper is all I play.

Stay crunchy.
I wish there was a way WotC could reprint Pauper favorites like Lotus Petal at common without ruining Standard or Modern.
Need One more 'good card' for my infect-less *Pauper Poison* deck to hit _Tier 1_ status!
Do a endless punishment upgrade video please!
Shoutout to my fellow Pauper Bogles players!
My first thought was "proxy". But no, Prof has too much esteem for the game for that, contrary to some at Hasbro milking the cow outrageously.
I love pauper, but miss atog 😔
I thought the best way to play with the least amount of money would be to print out your own proxies or play online with Tabletop Simulator
Yea but I also think it's great to draw attention to real paper magic. This format is tons of fun and needs more love from the community.
Pauper box with 6 decks, is it balanced?
I'm putting together a Pauper box with a selection of decks that are balanced in power level, so our group can enjoy a variety of matchups.
Here's what I have so far:
White Weenie
Izzet Skred
Golgari Dredge
Rakdos Madness
Orzhov Blade
Gruul Ramp
Do you think this lineup offers a good balance for competitive play? Are there any key archetypes I’m missing, or are some strategies overrepresented? I’d really appreciate any feedback!
P.S.: should I wait until the release of Foundations to order cards? I imagine decks might change.
the best way to play magic the gathering for the least money? Proxying everything :)
Now hear me out
As a Segway into pauper if your play group plays mostly commander suggest that everyone build a pauper commander deck you pick a commander and can only use commons in the 99
The only problem with pauper is the postage costs lol. It's always more than the cards themselves.
It’s not great, but I love my Zubera “storm” deck
Hey prof english question as its not my first language
When can we use «I were» instead of «I was»
Thats such a random question but thank you in advance!
my last two commanders decks cost me 8€ to print at my local print shop. cant get cheaper than that xD
When do the signed sol rings from Patreon get sent out for October?
I made a simic eldrazi that finishes off with ulamog’s crusher
I'm building my first pauper deck. I'm trying to do green/white Slivers
the cheapest way to play magic is to play casual and proxy everything
This is a reup, right? I was looking for a comment or something explaining why just so I don't feel I'm going crazy
Wish any of my LGS played pauper. My closest LGS doesnt even play mtg anymore.
if you look at the history of the world, you'll see a trend where all positive change begins with small groups of motivated people.
Be the change you wanna see, bring a set of pauper decks with you.
