I wish it WAS a quiet snowy evening. I’m is Australia, and it’s a week before Christmas. There’s a thunderstorm raging outside, and it’s ridiculously hot and humid. Working up quite a sweat just sitting here typing this.
Thank you Tony, for all the great ghost stories. This year I lost my husband and hearing your voice read to me is a comfort. I bought your book of Christmas ghost stories cant wait to read some.
Just finished cleaning and decluttering some parts of the home. Now I’m making some hot chocolate and getting cozy on this chilly midnight. Thank y’all for the lovely stories and nice community
Ovaltine 😊 I'm 76 and I loved Ovaltine ❤ in my lunch box thermos and still do listening to old time radio 📻 around the Christmas tree listening to Christmas stories and Christmas music 🎶🎄🎄🎄
I'm from San Francisco California and I happen to be 54, and my mom used to put Ovaltine in my bottle when I was little! I miss Ovaltine, you brought back a wonderful memory! Thank you. And if course we have the joy of this to listen to as well.
What a treat to wake up to in sunny New Zealand. Christmas in the summer is a dreadful, dreadful thing for the lover of a good Christmas ghost story...
It's not much better here in the UK, folks. Heavy rain. Miserable and cold. Rain forecast at least all week. It's been so dark all day I needed the lights on. Now it's middle of the night - 3am - and I woke up because all the rain keeps making me run to the bathroom. Most of us here can't afford to heat our homes due to extremely high energy costs and high inflation. Thousands die every winter from the cold and not just the old folks. Winter is a time of suffering and worry for all but the very wealthy, the Christmas spirit has long been destroyed anyway by political correctness resulting from which nobody says "Merry Christmas" any more for fear of getting into trouble. Not many Christmas lights around - people can't afford it. We've long been cheated out of Christmas and all other traditional holidays... Merry Christmas, folks! At least you are still allowed to celebrate it.
@LittleKitty22 I'm sorry to hear that it's so very dire for you there; we will be hoping to defend our home from fire this Christmas. We too suffer from cancel culture, but where I live in the Deep South it's not a big problem. Our Winter is dark and bleak, but next year there will be *very* little rain. Maybe we will have to keep a place in hearts for the myth of Christmas. That's why I'm here now. I hope yours is happy than expected.
@@StoryVoracious Thank you, and have a wonderful Christmas! You are right, we have to keep the Christmas spirit in our hearts, now more so than ever with all the attempts to destroy it from governments. Stay safe, I hope there will be no wildfires over the coming weeks and months! I still remember the terrible wildfires of early 2020 and the pictures of kangaroos with singed hands - absolutely heartbreaking that was! Have a peaceful Christmas!
Thank you, Tony, for this perfect gift. Saviour Gate has become one of my favorite stories, not just for Christmas but for pondering God’s grace. Christmas blessings to you and yours 🙏🏼🎄
It took me several nights to listen to the whole thing as I had to go back multiple times to where I had fallen asleep. Still, a lot of fun. Some of the stories were more Christmassy than others but they were all creepy and fun. Thanks, Tony.
I am just now putting my quilt down that I have been sewing on all day, and decided to kick back with CGSP. Imagine my surprise to find a brand new episode! How very special! PS- I was listening to my "Podcast Addict" app while I was stitching away, and guess what channel I had on!? Apparently, CGSP is my current favorite 🎃
Listening to these great stories from Malta... Christmas lights twinkling, Baby Jesus in his manger, and even though my husband and I are rather alone we have each other and we are not lonely. its Happy Christmas all the way here, we respect all cultures - and that includes our own. A serene Christmas to all listeners !

Merry Christmas from a rather hot Aussie summer! These stories are a marvellous Christmas treat! I’m a big fan of all your work and your wonderful voice bringing them alive! Thank you!
What a wonderful little story "The Magic Shop" was! The crackling of the fire, with your hypnotic voice and excellent pronunciation gave me a such a feeling of peace and happiness I seldom experience. It was as if I was a child again, sitting by the hearth of a beautiful home in the mountains, listening to a loving parent reading to me. Thank you so much!
Wonderful stories. I've listened to Saviourgate three times, and I love it; a great story. All are wonderful, especially during this Christmas season. Thank you.

Like Bethlehem 2000 years ago, Christmas is stinking hot here in Oz. We eat seafood and go to the beach at Christmas, but I do appreciate a great reading of traditional English Christmas ghost stories. I hope you have a haunting free Xmas Tony. Thanks for your wonderful podcast.
So glad that I found your channel today - I have subscribed! A love of ghost stories is for life, not just for Christmas 😂 (although these tales ARE even better then, every year ❤) Thank you - your narration and production are great! 😊
Next week, across the uk we’re expecting snow. It’s very cold here at the moment. I completely understand your wish for the icy weather. We’ve doubled the duvet’s and made space for our little dog to sleep between us with her soft blanket on top of her.
As a devoted listener I am thrilled by this upload. As a Canadian, I have complex emotions about the accent you have given in the wonderful story by Russell Kirk. I don't want to criticize your performance of the accent. I do want to think about how difficult performing a so-called Canadian accent might be. There are so many complex issues here, including colonialism, immigration, and, of course, the voices that were allowed to speak for the country, and voices that were not. When I listen to archival tape from the 50s 60s and 70s, I hear something different and even foreign to what I hear and speak now. It's not just time. It's about what I understood as being Canadian. It's about how culturally complex the country actually was when Russell Kirk wrote the story. So Tony, this is not a criticism, but a recognition of how challenging it might be to produce a period Canadian accent. What on earth could that have been? What would it have sounded like? There are no easy answers, or simple vocal reproductions. I am so thankful for your work, and for how thought-provoking it is!
I enjoyed your narration of these stories, thank you! As a side note, where could I find this background on its own, having grown so comfortable in it with your stories?
