Another nice build, Billy. The mahogany plugs are a real nice touch. Good recovery on the deep chamfer. Glad to see your weather is improving. I don’t build as much with pine as you do, but I’ve done a lot before and used the shou sugi ban treatment for the staining. Pine really pops, and you can do a light burning and it pulls out the grain beautifully. I’d recommend experimenting first, it is a lot of fun and has a nice look, too. There are a lot of good videos on the technique, some are way overboard, though. I think you’d like it.
I’ve actually just ordered some mapp gas to do some of that 🤣 you guys sometimes must read my mind.
Thank you fella 👌
@ go lightly when you start. You’ll see what it takes to get certain look. I’ve done everything from super light to a heavy alligator char and covered it with epoxy. It really is fun, too. Pine is wonderful to work with- very versatile and forgiving. Be cautious with using the fire, too. Have a fir extinguisher at hand.
@ yes I’ll have to get a extinguisher 👌
I like it! Looks great, love the contrasting colors.
Thank you 👌🪚
That's a really good-looking project.
Thank you 👌
Great build! It's great seeing your signature 3 holes. Looks very useful. Also, that table addition looks to be working out quite well for you.
Good job to you and Shelley.
Thank you.. the table is fantastic I’m so glad I made it.
Nice little build, very cute puppy!
Thank you 👌
What make is your drillpress?.
It’s a Bosch electronic variable speed.. cost around £280 / £300
Belting Billy I'm glad you're channel is growing and it makes a change from shop furniture all the time jack pot👍👍👍

Paul from Pa in the US. Looks very nice and an easy enough make! I must say as usual, I just like your style.
Thanks for another good show.
Thank you Paul.. your support is super appreciated 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Really enjoyed that build today…. Thanks for all your hard work and keep sanding haha
Haha.. sanding 👌 glad you enjoyed it fella 👍
Like your videos...lots of great ideas.
Just a tip that I learned, when cutting dados, use the the piece that you're going to put in the dado to set the width, don't measure it, the wood varies.
From Indiana in the US.
I'm not an expert
Yes that’s good advice, someone else said the same thing but yes next time I’ll be using the wood itself to measure 👌
Hi Billy, Brilliant job on the book stand, that would look nice in any home, good job mate.
As always a great video, catch you soon Take care
Thank you Shaun.. support is always appreciated 👌
Been on your channel for a while here. Love most of your projects. But as a former commercial carpenter turned woodworker, I would like to make on small suggestion. I've seen you make critical cuts next to or right through knots. Knots are a natural part of wood but they look aesthetically much better in the middle of the grain, not next to an edge. I know sometimes there's no getting away from it but usually, if you look at the board carefully before laying out and marking it, you can plan the knots to be elsewhere besides into the cuts. In the end, it really will make more beautiful pieces for your projects. Hope this helps.
Yes fella thank you.. it’s all part of the learning and I’ve been trying to remember the knots when cutting. I’m sure over time I’ll get it spot on.
Again, a nice build and suggestion. A lot of variations are possible with such a "sort of" side table.
Again something learned ....... check the hight of your router bit 🙂.
Oh well, mistakes are there to be made.
Thank you 👌🪚
Ay King great project. Look forward to an overview show. Id look forward to more input every night. Like a lickle talk on routers chisels mitre saws anything wood working.
Yes there’s a overview video tomorrow..
I’ll look into doing videos about individual tools.. 👌🪚
That's an interesting project. I'm thinking you could put a narrow pocket at one end to hold things like TV remotes?
Yes definitely a small pocket at the end would work well 👌
Just watched vid Billy and I love it. If its OK with you buddy I'm gonna make a few of these. I have a ton of 4ft 1x6's so it looks like I could be busy..😊😊
Yes fella make as many as you can.. I’m glad it’s give you the zing to go and make them 👌
