“Handcrafted Modern Candle Holder | Beginner Woodworking Project” In this episode of my Woodworking for Beginners series, we’re making a stunning, one-of-a-kind centrepiece that will elevate any home! Using simple materials-a piece of 1x8 pine, rough sawn 3x3 pine blocks, and birch dowels-I’ll walk you through the step-by-step process to craft this modern and rustic candle holder. Stained in a rich Jacobean tone, this design combines warmth and elegance. To make it even safer, I’ve added battery-powered tea lights, but it’s versatile enough to be used as a succulent planter or for other creative ideas! Whether you’re a beginner woodworker or looking for unique décor inspiration, this project is perfect for you. Ready to add charm to your space? Edmonton Alberta Canada here, this is our last cold night for a bit. It's going down to -29 or -30 overnight but will be above zero in after tomorrow, high of -7 tomorrow. In Canada our main measurements are metric, but when I am doing woodworking I use inches.
Got down to 21F here last night and supposed to be 19F tonight. This Saturday is gonna be 40s at night and 60s during the day. Why we stay sick in Louisiana. Can't get out in the shop for a couple of weeks due to having eye surgery Friday. Good thing with the cold weather.
Wisconsin USA it’s cold and I hate winter. I am unable to do any woodworking projects right now not until I have my heart surgery in June. So it’s so hard watching videos
Keep watching and enjoy.. make sure you get that surgery and you will be back up and running before you know it.. Our best wishes to you my friend 🇬🇧🇺🇸👌
Great work. Notts basford. Like the winter if Iam doing an outside project pallet shed I will be doing soon. But Carnt wait for bbq weather if we get any good stuff this year 😂
@@thewoodjunki No, that's System International (Système International d'Unités). Commonly, though, incorrectly referred to as metric. It had a confusing period back in the 1960s, when it was known as Meter Kilogram Second, or something like that. I was in engineering school back then (1964 in my case). By the end of 1965, we were switched over to SI units, which caused some serious confusion. For us engineering students, we adapted quickly. However, as you probably know, the population in general were stumped. Even after the so called metrication process, most people found it to be difficult. Now I hear many UA-camrs using the term "mil' as a short form of millimeters, even though "mil" was already in use meaning one thousandth of an inch. Here in the USA, they are still using the antiquated Imperial system of units of measure, even though many of the large companies manufacture their products in SI units. I don't mind using either system, because I have plenty of experience using either one. However, the way things are over here in the USA is ridiculous. there should be one system, and in my opinion, that should be SI. One interesting thing about SI in the UK though, is that beer is still sold in Imperial pints. Weird!

FYI, Canada uses SI units.
Is that standard imperial?

@ yes it would be nice if everything was standard everywhere.. yes we have pints and we all weigh ourselves in which ever measure looks lighter 🤣
