    Ironically, you may notice a few frame drops in this particular video. It doesn't have anything to do with the Cam Link Pro. I'm currently chasing down the issue, but there was no way to fix it for this video. Hope you enjoyed regardless!!

      EposVox, would the Cam Link Pro be better than the 4K 60S+ ? I just bought the 4K 60S+, but cannot get smooth, clear video from it in OBS. Would the Cam Link Pro be better with my Nikon camera, with less headaches ?

    • @TechWeLove
      @TechWeLove 3 роки тому +1

      @EposVox Also, can it do 4K HDR at 24 or 30 FPS ? I'm torn between this, and 4K60 S+ which I am consider returning. It's now in OBS, and I don't know if it's cause my 10400, and RTX 2060, cant handle the feed, or whether the 4K 60S+ is too slow over the cables they provide or my own.

    A video on overhead filming would be appreciated. Especially with regards to lens recommendations and tricks for reducing glare. It's so important for miniature painting

    This is rad!
    FYI (anyone curious about multiple inputs), If you nest your video input sources into their own scene, then use THAT scene in your main scenes, you're then able to change your input source without changing your scene. Pair it with the Lua Source toggle script and it's a really consistent and reliable solution.
    Another rad tip is to duplicate that Input Sources scene, call the first "A" and the new duplicate "B". Put both of these scenes into a new scene called "A-B Switcher", then use THAT scene in your main scenes. Then you can setup a hotkey to swap between your current A and current B inputs. Sorta like how in some games you can select any weapon directly, but also have a dedicated "switch to previous" kind of function.
    This is just some of the rad things you can do in OBS with nested inputs, and when paired with a foot controller... it's a really empowering production workflow, especially if you're hands are busy opening pokemon cards, or holding a gamepad (or Steam Controller ;)).

    • @enregistreur
      @enregistreur 3 роки тому +2

      This is kind of what I do, with scenes acting as « slots », which are then themselves included in other scenes (with the layout on top etc).
      Each input is wrapped in a scene, and all « input scenes » are on top of another in a « slot scene ».
      I then use UPDeck on an iPad to change their visibility / order, same as one would on a stream deck with the LUA script I guess.

      @@TheRykerInitiative You're welcome! As as matter of fact, I got inspired by the new Atem Mini Extreme, that features a "select bus" for the included SuperSource.
      As I use OBS Ninja (which I highly recommend, it's fun to play with) to include multiple remote guests in my streams, when I saw the demo of the Atem Mini Extreme, I immediately though I NEED THAT, but for virtual cameras. :D

    I have the Cam Link Pro and I love it. I don't make use of all the inputs yet, but to have the room to just keep adding HDMI devices is what makes me sleep soundly at night. It just makes sense to have more than one input for a content creator, and adding more Cam Links over USB just doesn't make sense if this exists!

    I'm looking forward to the teleprompter video! A lot of the small ones you see on amazon use phone only, which doesn't help if you want to control it on your PC (unless you use software to make your phone another display, which is it's own thing lol). There was this one product I saw by Glide Gear called the TMP-WB Solo which latches onto an existing monitor or laptop and bounces a portion of the screen to the prompter above it, but I think it was discontinued sadly.
    Edit: I found the 'ProPrompter Desktop,' which is great, but is also about the price of an Xbox Series X lol. Feels a bit much for a small 70/30 beam splitter glass, a small mirror, and a few pieces of aluminum but that's coming from someone who's being very cheap about it haha

I run two instances of OBS and I can have my Avermedia capture card as a source on both, but I can't have my CamLink 4k, so instead I end up having to do virtual camera from one OBS instance over to the other one which isn't ideal.

Spent ages trying to troubleshoot it thinking it was related to AMD Zen USB issues. Finally bit the bullet and got the Cam Link Pro and it has been rock solid.

    This looks amazing, but I have one important question. Does this card function with elgato's Game Capture HD software, even tho it calls itself a cam link instead of a game capture card? When I'm not streaming or using OBS, that is what i play my switch through. I love being able to power my switch on and open game capture hd to just play my switch on my desktop. When I stream I play off of a monitoring window of my capture, but I'd like to not have to open obs to just play my switch
    I didnt even hear about this when it launched lol, just finding out as I was checking the cam link prices on amazon just now. This is something i've been wanting for years. There have been alot of multi input cards on the market for years, but elgato just straight up has the best software and integrations for streaming. I may replace my HD60 pro card with this.

    Im wondering about the input lag when playing a console through the cam link pro, seeing as it does not have any pass through to connect to your monitor or TV, is the lag noticeable at all? Could you play games through it?
    The issue i have is that i have multiple game consoles that i stream game play from, i used to use a HDMI switcher connected to the consoles and inputting to elgato hd60plus, the issue is the ps5 does not like my splitter so now every time I change consoles I have to physically swap the HDMI cable going to the capture card, this has made cable management a nightmare coz i need easy access to the capture card, I was hoping the cam link pro would be my solution because of the multiple inputs but im concerned about the output or delay..

    so if I want to game on the same PC with full PCIE 4x16 bandwidth, Z590/X570 or next gen main stream desktop platform would not be enough with that card because of only 16 PCIE lanes for devices like that, right? (4 lanes seem to be Nvme SSD only on most boards it seems)...
    So instead of Z690 with a 12700k or so I should wait what intel 12th gen HEDT has to offer I guess to get all the PCIE bandwidth, or is there another way around with a current Z590 board with full x16 bandwidth + that card, which would also work with a similar Z690 board?

    • @EposVox
      @EposVox  3 роки тому +1

      Most boards these days will also have a x4 slot run through the chipset and should be ok

      @@EposVox thx that's good news.
      So it seems like my favourite Asus Strix Z590-E and -F gaming have deleted PCIE x4 Ports, while Maximus Hero (expensive) and Tuf (less USB ports) have them. Will check also other brands then when Z690 comes to have that upgrade path open.
      in general it seems like these newer higher end boards have more nvme drive slots and less dedicated pcie x4 slots

    Well, given 4 Camlinks on your PC can cause a lot of trouble among your USB devices, I’d say: Even if, for the most parts this is just 4 inputs, I’d use the heck out of this. To me, this card is simply not designed to be used for 4K capture. But then again, my stream setup would torture the heck out of my PC, if I did all of that in 4K. So I guess, I’m - for the most part - fine with 4:2:2 at 1080p60. Try to find 4K60 4:4:4 outputting cameras, let alone pay for them and you know why. I simply don’t view This CC as a 4K one. What’s slow, by the way, is the stream deck. I’ve struggling with it for the Year I have my stream deck now. 😅

    I'mma just wait for an HDMI 2.1 capture card. I think this is super cool but I don't have much use for it. And I was gonna get the HD60S+ to hold me over but... That thing is $200 while the 4K60 Pro is $250. So I'm in this weird purgatory of "Don't wanna get the 4K60 Pro when HDMI 2.1 is surely around the corner" but also "Don't want to spend $200 on a HD60S+ when a 4K60 Pro can be had for just $50 more".
