Congrats to Justin and Daigo! Next impact award I really hope is Alex Valle. That man is a gem, and I feel like he gets forgotten about for how much work he's put in to this wonderful community.

Yipes did won that EVO vs JWong, but you cannot simply take away the defining moment round with 1 character left vs 3. Same as when Daigo won the heart of entire audience and crowd with his parry against JWong in EVO2004.
Daigo and Jwong. If not (?) the pioneers of FGC but definitely the ones who put the FGC in the universal map of gaming. Well deserved! Because of them, the FGC grew stronger and now it still keeps on living even stronger. Respect! 👏

Lmao MK1 is a dead game for sure. It sucks because I actually enjoy it, but between the abysmal online play and the stale-ass Johnny Cage meta combined with the fact that SonicFox is in every Grand Finals ever, making competitive play an absolute bore to watch, MK is just not it, especially when you have 2XKO and Fatal Fury CotW on the horizon, plus GGSt is getting a 3v3 mode that looks like it turns it into a VS fighter wherein 3 people independently control each character. Then add in the cherry on top of WB not being willing to make the major MK tournaments even worth traveling to and competing in compared to T8 an SF6, and you've basically got a game inching on life support. Takeda seems cool, but I doubt 1 character is saving the game. (Not to mention all the gender-swapping of the characters like the rumored main roster Cyrax)
I’ll tell you the biggest disappointment was to see how Big Bird let Punk get a free jump in and let him do whatever he wanted after that to win the game when he had Punk at 35% hp and was at like 85%. Talk about choking 👀👀👀
