SF6 and all the changes that came with it really made this evo so amazing to watch. So many unique moments, and a top 6 with only one repeat character was awesome. Punk's victory was so incredibly emphatic too, and I hope Big Bird finds his championship soon as well!
That final game genuinely gave me a heart attack live, a pretty close first game to a comeback perfect round the second??? You can’t tell me that ain’t soul crushing for both players
Momochi/EndingWalker probably made a lot of folks go start learning Ed. On top of both of their overall performances, that mirror was just a pleasure to watch IMO. And damn man, punk’s reaction gets me every time. Evo was amazing this year.
I really hope that the 2024 Punk Vs Bigbird sets are considered some of the best by the end of SF6 lifetime. These sets are genuinely some of the craziest street fighter ever
I also can't watch a single sf6 match till the end. its so damn boring. I don't know why is that, people seem to enjoy it. I went back and watched some sf4 top moments and it was still exciting. same with 3rd strike.
@@SunsetofMana Many factors like difficulty of learning fighting games, mastering fighting games and that fighting games are old too. A lot of veteran players have stop coming to tournaments because its too expensive to do so. Plane tickets, hotels, necessities and etc are all pricey even if you group together to split the cost. And if you don't place top 3, you get no prize money. It's great to meet up with everyone, chat and play games, but otherwise, its costly to do so. Otherwise, you better hope a company sponsors you to go to the tournaments. Fighting games are just old now and offer no more excitement. It was hot in the 90s and for sure that was its golden age but now its just a shadow of itself. SF4 did bring back that energy again for 5 years but it died off. I always wanted to attend EVO but now i dont care for it anymore.
