I heard that initially 1080p video setting was greyed out if you used an ef lens like the 50mm 1.8. With the firmware update is that fixed now? UPDATE: Got my own RP with the EF 50mm 1.4 and 1080p24 is available for recording.
currently I own a M50 which I love but I was thinking about getting the full frame ESO RP. I already have the 50 mm lens and also the 24 mm 105 mm f/4 L USM lens. Do you think its worth the upgrade?
Do you use it for photos or video? If you mostly do photography, the full frame sensor will be great in the EOS RP and your lenses will both work great with it as well. If you do video, there isn't a super huge advantage with the RP and it may be more beneficial to just buy some nice lenses for your M50! :)
I think sony is better way than canon mirror less full frame like a7ii or a7iii, canon has a more feature than sony but sony has a good color grading with s log that can make picture more sharp and the shape of the body camera is more cooler than eos rp
Hi fix I have a mount adapter ef-eos R do you think can fit if I buy the EF 50mm f/1.8stm?please let me know coz I bought a lens rf 50mm f/1.8 stm doesn’t fit to mount adapter ef -eos R
You can have bokah with the Olympus 45mm or the panasonic 42.5 hmm which is a focal length of 90 or 85. That's the lens that makes the m43 look almost full frame.
whats up man im hoping you can clear things up for me. Im looking to buy the RP with a Ef 17-40mm lens. It looks like the Ef is a full frame lens so it should not crop correct? Also does that mean i will not lose any MP while using it? Also do you think EF 17mm will be good for wide shot real estate photos?
Hey man, nice job on this video. I can't find the canon ef-rf adapter so I ordered a viltrox. Hope it works decent with this camera and lens combo. Thanks for the video.
@@skezosios Mine has actually held up well, thankfully. I'm wanting to get the one with the integrated filters now. Enjoy your new camera, I love mine.
Quick question... shot in 1080p but then upscale for UA-cam? I ask because I am able to select 1440p for playback on my Galaxy Tab S6. If upscale can you comment on your editor and upscale workflow? Thx!
I don’t know what it is but I have this exact setup with my rp and for some reason I get less dynamic range on Lightroom. But when I use my rf 35mm, I get better dynamic range. Any fix?
I have canon 700d and 50mm 1.8 and I am wondering if getting Rp body will improve anything? I know 700d is crop and rp full frame so here will be imo upgrade but what about videos. I shot macro with extension tubes. Rp has more af points so maybe it will be better for photography.
Maybe a little late, but I upgraded from the 750D to the RP and it made a huge difference. I mainly shot products and portraits, so I don't know if it will help with macro, but all in all I love the camera
If you are just getting into photography and want to try out a 50mm lens, the f/1.8 is perfect. If you decide to upgrade later on, the Sigma Art 50mm would probably be the best upgrade.
Thanks for making this video! I was looking at getting this exact setup! Very fair review. Shame about the lack of image stabilization in the lens. Otherwise, the video footage looked very vivid and cinematic. Loved the photo where the girl was blowing the snow from her hand at the camera. You could see each individual flake of snow, really showed off the 50mm’s insane sharpness. Will you be reviewing the Canon EOS RP with the Canon RF 35mm f1.8 macro lens? Really wanted to see demo photos and video of that setup too! Nice work on the video! Looking forward to watching more Canon EOS RP content from you 👍
My internal thought process: "Huh, that kinda reminds me of the Red Cedar." "Nah, I think every river with a bit of snow around it is the Red Cedar." "Wait those are spartan gloves."
I was having this conversation with my wife last night about buying this camera and adapter after selling my T6i. I'm pretty much sold on the idea now after watching this Thank you for the quick response BTW.
watch the auto focus in the beginning it struggles a lot. It's really annoying. I've heard great things about canon autofocus but it doesn't seem good for vlogging style videos ...
that's because of the 50mm is not a good lens for autofocus as the best of the best. if you use 11-20 or the 10-18 those have true stm motors or if you don't care about sound. you should get a usm lens. this 50mm is a rehash and super old lens
you low-key roasted pixel-peeping, $7K + rigs, by showing how great you are with an $800 used camera... and I love it!!!!
RP is $1,000 plus tax
So around $1,200
Plus lense so like $1,500
Where you getting $800 ? 🤣
@@D_Cali_Life I bought mine for 950€ + the RF 50mm f1,8… it’s used but quite new
@@D_Cali_Life he said used
WTF is pixel peeping
For non-pro, this set up is hard to beat. I bought the lens and adaptor for less than $240.
You need to pay a hooker cause the.lil mis muffins just aint cutting it in holywood even with knee pads and a whole crew taking turns
I just bought the RP for $549 and adapter from Amazon for $50 bucks. I have 50mm 1.8 & 24mm 2.8 hope they both work with this
Hi how you doing bro, What do you recommend, should I buy Sony Alpha 7II or canon EOS RP?and thanks 😊
This video was really helpful. Thanks
What picture profile are you using in this video...
Great video! This is my main photo setup and I’ve been able to produce some fire with it. 🔥🔥🔥
It’s such a great setup!
Can you do a video on this exact set up on specific settings for manual mode please . I have the same set up canon rp with 50mm 1.8
Why not the rf 50mm ? 👀

the 50mm 1.8 is and ef lens not an efs
gaylen Gurr You’re right. I fixed it.
The RP is so nice an compact it makes the nifty fifty look big. :)
Haha true its crazy how small it is for being full frame!
Hello! I have this question that nobody seems to know how to answer: if I use this same setup, my pics would be full frame or cropped?
They will be full frame 😁
@@FoxTailWhipz thank you for answering so fast omg🤩
There is a crop only with EF-S lenses. The 50mm is a real EF lens.

Great video !!! I want the R but the RP is a good choice 👍🏻
Thank you I have the 50mm and sold my canon 700d. I have Panasonic g85.. But I miss the Boke and Canon Dual pixel (That I never had )

Does Dual Pixel Autofocus still work when recording Video while using the Adapter with EF / EFS Lenses?
Yes it does!
Hi what adapter are you using?
I don’t know what it is but I have this exact setup with my rp and for some reason I get less dynamic range on Lightroom. But when I use my rf 35mm, I get better dynamic range. Any fix?
Ive never had that issue, the only thing I could think of is the in camera lens corrections changing the image depending on which lens you use.
I'm currently using canon RP with EF 50mm. I would like to get one more lens for landscape photography. which lens would be good? please advice
For landscape photography I use the 16-35 f/4 IS and the 70-200 f/4
Can you film in 1080P with EF and EF-S lens ?

Hey man what model of your adapter ?
OK you got me a little concerned here 4:45 ..you let him play with THAT? lol
Is this true?
50 mm 1.8 STM is produced much noise image if use flash lights. Means only good for outdoor.
will the adaptor and nifty fifty crop full frame?
This camera's crop factor 1.6 right ? So what the distance from camera to your face?
This is full frame camera so it doesn't have any crop factor
Is it even worth it to buy the 50mm 1.4?
If you are just getting into photography and want to try out a 50mm lens, the f/1.8 is perfect. If you decide to upgrade later on, the Sigma Art 50mm would probably be the best upgrade.
@@FoxTailWhipz thanks a lot
great video! thanks for the examples
Your videos are always amazing. ❤️.
Does it stay at 50mm with the adapter?
Yes it does
I’ve heard with Ed lenses on the rp you can’t shoot 1080 at 60fps is this true?
You can with full frame EF lenses, but not crop sensor EF-S lenses.
Would you get the rp with the 50 mm or the z6?
Rp 3:54

Nope the focal length stays the same, I was just referring to the physical size of the lens.

How much cost the lense? Ty
basically a little modified Pancolar of East Germany. It's like a revival of Trabant in 21st century.
Great review.. 4k is cons, but if eos rp has good 4k, my PC can't process the data 😂😂
