Instead of 16mm superwide or this kind of lens for R8 for blogging, I would buy a DJI Osmo 3. It's cheaper than any wide RF lens, do much more than R, RP, R8 and serve the purpose very well. For 50mm and 100-400, these are best suggestions.
Thank you mate! I was just about to purchase a Canon R8 but was hesitant as there aren't much lens options. Thanks for your help 👍 should I go with one of these lenses or a zoom lens or adapt EF Lenses?
Very helpful video to me for sure, I'm looking to buy the Canon r8 and to adapt the rf 50mm 1.8 and the rf 100-400. Loved to see the pros and cons about these lenses, also how photos looks gorgeous with both of them. I would also love to see also a review about the Canon r8 paired with rf 35mm macro
I’ve used it a few times for sports photos and it performs good as long as it’s outdoors and fairly bright. If it’s indoors it won’t do the best especially for fast moving sports.
Thanks... I'm Planning to pick a Canon R8 ...which one would be the best kit lens to start with24-50mm or 24-105mm. Also I want to add one prime lens to my kit. Is the 35mm f/1.8 will be better than 50mm f/1.8 for photography...?
The r8 has no ibis for still photography only videos. So the 50mm doesn’t work for taking pictures because it doesn’t have IS. Image Stabilization. Second the 16mm is no good better of the 35mm f1.8 is better than both for both. It has IS. For the money the 35mm is better For zoom RF 24-240mm lens is better and sharper
It's cute how you only recommend gear that you just happened to purchase yourself, not stuff that is actually useful. You can't just buy something, then act like it's the best thing ever. The 16mm is a terrible lens when you compare it to other ultra-wide lenses, and the 100-400 is not as good as the original ef 400mm f5.6, which costs less used. There is no context behind the stuff that you are reviewing, which makes this video really unhelpful.
Rf16 is super cheap and light and have good centre sharpness. I took a lot of beautiful photos with it especially astrophotography. This is really a good budget friendly lens in many people's opinion.
@@wentan8978 I mean, it's not bad but it would have been helpful to compare different options at this price point. The Rokinon 14mm f2.8 is optically better and only costs $150
people that are new to camera like me would prefer native lens tbh, maybe thats what he wanted to focus on? I owned the rf100-400 too, and that's also one of my favourite - mainly because is so damn light and rediculously sharp
Try the rf24-105 stm lens, I was amazed how good it is and is a match for the EF24-105 f4L lens
I recently bought a Canon R8. I have the 50mm lens. The 16mm wide angle looks very impressive. That might be my next RF lens.

The best lens for the R8 is Canon's 24mm to 240mm - Have you tried this lens - Does it all, with quality. Hi from Michigan 🚂
Which one is best for cinematic style videos?
Great entertaining and educational video. I have a Canon R100.
Thanks for your input

Don’t buy the R8. Spend the extra 300 buy Sony. R8 has no IBIS its big problem
@@HectorHAlinot a big problem at all. Most cinema cameras don’t have IBIS anyway, so it’s only a deal breaker for thick kids.
Can the 100-400 good for sports

I covered a couple of marathon and it was good. Also covered few dance performances and I was happy with the results.
Not for indoors not for low light
Ty!
Thank you!!! Very useful and clear video!! You organised your content well and you went straight to the point!!
Thanks!!
The best budget R lenses are ef lenses with original adapter❤

You can get a 35 and use crop mode, making it a 50mm
Why does anybody waste time saying "Let's jump right in" or "Let's get into it" - just do it
And then edit out every break in speech to save time. 🙄

you did this exact same video with the r50...
The lenses don’t change so making the same for a different bodies make complete for a content creator. Do you have both bodies

He does this a lot it’s quite unfortunate, cause some beginners genuinely rely on advice like this
This 16 mm lens has horrible distortion.
