It's so nice that your father still has good health and is able to help you out with much of the work you're doing on the trucks. Also good father and son bonding.

There is absolutely nothing wrong bs'ing with your dad, been doing some of that with my dad today. Priceless time that can't be replayed.
To be honest, it is one of the best videos you've made, by absolute accident. The real Mike, the family man.

Hate to say this Mike, but being cheap costs more in the long run, even if you just give your time away, it costs money to make a excuse for not doing. I've seen those bellhousing bolts removed by a good welder man who brought his machine to my shop, the bolts were broke right at the block making the bellhousing about three inches of hole in it to reach that broken bolt.... it didn't even phase him!!! Jumped up on my frame and found a place to get comfortable, that almost took more time than the welding as he welded that hole completely shut, and then some plus put a nut on the whole thing and used a small crescent wrench to spin it right out. That bolt was one I broke after it had turned a ways out and my trying to force it made it break. Heat, not a hand held "want to be torch" thats intended for solder. The bellhousing is cast and the bolt is steel so it did not stick to the bellhousing

Mike, a little tip when you get to grinding, cutting on the fiberglass 2 words. Baby Powder.. cover any exposed skin with a liberal coating of Baby Powder it will close up your pores and keep the fibers out of them. use a resperator and a tyvec jumpsuit also. Then blow your self off with air before you wash any skin. (Trust me on this I worked with fiberglass for several years.) Remember once you sand off the Gelcoat you can join panels together easy enough, also fiberglass cures from the inside out or what they call Exotherms let all your patches cure fully before you gelcoat. another tip, find out what kind of resin was used origionally and use the same type to do all your repairs Ie: Vinyl Ester, Epoxy, polyester among others. good luck.

Mike, i hadt to drill out 3 broken flywheel bolts on a cummins and believe me, they are super hard. An old timer at cummins loaned me a cobalt set of drill bits that he used for years and they cut through those bolts like butter. Now you have to use machinist grade cobalt bits, not the cheap walmart specials. Make sure to dress the broken ends of the bolts before drilling with a die grinder. I was worried id ruin the crank, but worked great. Bill

Use the whole new roof and cut the old roof away but leave the windows,if the new roof is too wide cut the difference from the middle keeping the strength strips and cut away the front part of the new roof and blend it into the front part of the old roof, just a thought as I have worked with fibreglass before and less cutting is always better, the damage to the new roof will partly be cut away also.

Mike, Why don't you just buy the parts you need and repair the tranny? Roadrangers are easy transmissions to overhaul, Just remember to put it in time as you put it back together. Pull the bellhousing and back unit off first, then the transmission is easy to take apart; It would save you a ton of money to do it yourself.
