Yeah I need to do some fiberglass work to the drivers side at the bottom of the fender first

Yep you betcha, Duke is good enough I could pin onto a trailer and haul one of the Cabovers if needed now. We are going to use him to move dad's stuff that he has stored in a 45' van trailer. Maybe I could use it for Kenny one day.
If that squirrel gage is out of true with just spinning your finger you should see it under power lol , probably been bent being previously removed and forced at some point which you must not do fitting the new one , probably got removed cause the resistor pack broken and they removed it thinking it was faulty motor
He's looking good, once you get the frame painted, he'll be really nice.

If you want cut a rubber inlet hose for the air cleaners and a clamp and call er done LOL Nobody will know lol

ya might as well cut the hole for the " faux" air cleaner. because the paint is going to get fretted (if that's a word) off from vibrations where the ring touches the paint! it could still be fake, just ready for the inner plumbing! check out Ezrider359 - he did a video of adding a second (real) air cleaner to his rig! keep the awesome videos coming!
Seriously one nice looking truck Mike new wheels and the Duke would be ready for work that JB weld is a miracle product if the company had any marketing smarts they would be sponsoring you

@@mikethetrucknut if you had to grow up in the uk where all trucks barring the odd few exceptions are boring and monotonous you would understand why l love all North American and Aussie trucks.
Cars here are the same everything is watered down and neutered, it’s bleak here mate and if you want anything decent you have to import it or buy imported. Hence l live in England and drive a Camaro .
So to my eye dukaroo there is every bit as cool as any pete or kw there ever was or will be.
I love freightliner fld’s too and w900’s , l also love mack r series and marmons.

@@mikethetrucknut l really do actually to be honest, it’s only a fourth gen 3.8 but it gets a lot of positive attention wherever we go , and it’s straight piped which makes a lot of people smile as we pass 👍

What motor oil would you recommend to use in a caterpillar motor
I've always liked chevron dello 400 15/40
What about the shell rotella motor oil 15w-40

Keep Duke white and chrome, no stripes and change the orange lights to clear lenses
Once you get the stainless bolts repaint the tranny floor plate

Mike, forget about Smokey! Both Kenny and K2 need to be fixed first. Anything that has fire damage usually has more problems that usually not seen. Fix the old school K100s (Kenny and K2) and burn Smokey! Make the 1994 trash truck aka Smokey, your parts truck..

I just replaced the motor and plastic squirrel cage in my F350, the new squirrel cage is so out of true i have to replace it again, sounds just like yours, there is an option for a metal one so i will be able to bend it straight if i have to.
See if it needs to be shimmed out. I think as the seal squished out over time the squirrel cage sits deeper and hits easier

Yeah they have micro switches so as soon as you lift your foot on the throttle they come on and if you touch the clutch they go off.

One trick I was taught with removing stubborn screws is to tighten them ever so slightly first then try and loosen them. Surprising how often it works and less chance of breaking the head off.

I don't think it will be to bad they are still making paper and will be starting another line in the future apparently. Talking with a customer that hauls for them says they still need his six trucks.
