I was just there from Virginia two weeks ago. One thing to add about Mariska is that when the car accident happened and all three front occupants were instantly killed including Jane, her three little children were asleep on the back seat. Upon impact they all shot under the front bench seat. The truck driver whom was rear ended by them came to see what happened and was freaking out because of what happened, had sat down on the curb distraught trying to compose himself, it was little Markiska’s crying that he realized there were children under the seat. He reached under grabbing her leg and pulled her out. He then felt the other two siblings who were ok but banged up. There’s a picture of an officer holding little Mariska somewhere on the internet.
Cannot wait to see who you found here. Nice day there. We had first snow night before last. Never ready I'm not a snow person. Grew up in Texas my entire life until past few years. Well I can say I gave it a chance but I'm more than ready to move home . What history! I remember Bullock's stores. And for his son building the world famous Playboy mansion unreal.
Your visit really shows the beauty of this cemetery.....as well as other unique graves, the birds there, the kitties, and the interment spaces...like the Buddhist area, and the concentration of what appeared to be Russian people with flamboyant markers. The Cutts mausoleum was really creepy looking...that was great!
One of those Russian monuments features the sculpture of a man with an astonishing similarity to Josef Stalin! Unfortunately, many of the Russian crosses were laminated from layers of stone, and were delaminating when I was there around 2004.
You showed Anne Hache but didnt mention her. And walked right by Mickey Rooney. When Tyler Cassity bought Hollywood Cemetery (now Hollywood Forever Cemetery) he contacted the family of Hattie McDaniel to have her (finally) rest there as that was her wish. The family declined stating that she'd been at rest for so long at ARC she should remain at peace there. This is how the cenotaph to her came to be.
After Mansfield was killed the ICC (interstate Commerce Commission) made it law that a crash bar be installed at the rear of all trailers/trucks. That ICC bar today is also known as the mansfield crash bar or Mansfield bar. Her death has saved millions of others since that safety bar has to be there now.😀😀😀
Pretty good Tony 👍 i didnt know Jane Mansfield is the Mom of Mariska hardy on tv ( the show with ice T theirs so many Rip Anne Heche my favorite actress of all time i already have 3 cats good video 👍
I’m hoping to visit this place soon. I barely miss your premiere. I seen the squirrel I’m like squirrels give you wishes. (Rick and Morty) lol. This was a good one
Great walking tour, this is a beautiful cemetery, thank you very much Tony. It looked like a beautiful southern California day. That first family mausoleum was particularly interesting. Judging by all those spider 🕷 webs 🕸 no one has gone inside to clean, or even visit in many years. 🤔 The family is probably passed away, or moved away. It would be nice to see it cleaned up. I remember Valerie Harper as Rhonda, as well. Thank you very much again Tony, for a awesome video. Have a great day. 😊
Yep, but you will be shocked to hear that a burial spot in that graveyard is very expensive, because of the many famous people that are buried there. I was told that the price for a burial plot in the Hollywood Forever graveyard is now $150,000. Ps, you said that Jayne Mansfield was born in 1933 but her cenotaph said that she was born in 1938.
There is some freaky stuff going on in that Thai Buddist area. Very interesting indeed. I don't have the time to transcribe right now, but wow... very interesting. There was a spirit there who isn't a human and had a fight with the spirits around you. Very loud EVPs. I will transcribe more another time. 3:11 "I told you to leave her alone." 3:13 "Why are you doing this to me?" 3:16 "I told you. I'm not a human." 3:19 "We already know this."
it was still during that time period. Unfortunate. I feel for her and her family, from what I understand the family was offered later on and they declined to relocate her.
Little known fact. The reflective Striped Bar on the back of trucks is called a Mansfield Bar. It makes the truck visible from the back.
Thank you for being kind to the cats. That is awesome that they try to adopt them and take care of them while they live there. ❤

Wow.. thanks for adding that. 👍
Great info. Her dog survived too.
Those cats were there 30 years ago. Fixnation captures these cats and fixes them for free.

What an incredible cemetery. All the different cultures, I wish I lived near it, looks like a great place to hang out.

Anne heche and Mickey Rooney, I covered in another video a little bit before this one … thanks for adding the rest of the story about Hattie. 👍
I have 13 relatives in this cemetery dating back to 1907. I was one of three groups who attempted to buy this cemetery in 2000
Oh really? 👍
Wow beautiful cemetery. Next time I go I will have to take a day to explore. Thank you for sharing this.

Very nice Tony 👍 I didn’t know Mariska Hargitay was Jayne’s daughter till a few weeks ago myself, she doesn’t look like her mom. Good actress though 👍

So sad and ridiculous that Hattie McDaniel couldn't be buried where she wanted to be buried. That's how it was back then, though.
