I think this channel is an even better way to remember those who have passed and show them respect and honor their memories.
I know some of these actors / voice actors I just didn't know when some of them had already passed away. They have created such great story's with their acting , Voice acting etc. I LOVE this channel and the history of each and every person , Its so interesting! ♥

I don't think its creepy? Its like history! More than likely you knew the person passed on. I find it very interesting to learn a little about him, where his or hers final
resting place is and how the person p[assed! Very interesting. Lots of them passed on not so old. The thing is. I know every person that is buried in this cemetery,
is not there! There body is but not the person. They left that body the instant they passed on to their "new" life in Paradise. like " *Jesus* " said to Mary when she went to
Our Lords burial spot. " _Why do you look for the Living among the Dead?_ *Jesus is not here* ..✝✝💒⛪ 🎄🎅🏿❤

George C Scott did play a wonderful Scrooge, no question. But the absolute best portrayal of Scrooge was Alastair Sim hands down. I think Sim played Scrooge in the 1950's Christmas Carol rendition.
As to all the Christmas animations I was still young at heart enough to watch them all along with my young daughter. But now in my 70's I don't watch them anymore....sad.
This is a wonderful compilation of everything that is Christmas today. Thank you.
Arthur, we wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a wonderful New Year.

Jane here. I wish they had kept St. Nicolas' day on Dec 6, and turned it into Santa's day with all the fun that comes with him, because sometimes I feel that the birth of the Savior gets forgotten on Christmas.
I agree with you that George C. Scott's Scrooge is the best.
Lionel Barrymore is such an incredible actor. He played that miserable character in "Its a Wonderful Life", and yet played the beloved grampa in "You Can't Take It With You".
For me, Jesus is my bright shining star.
    Merry Christmas to you all.
And thanks for another great informative
    Video.

Best Scrooge bar none was Allister Sim in 1951. Fantastic portrayal. I'm 58 and to this day watch all these classics. Charlie Brown's Christmas, Rudolph, Frosty, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, The Little Drummer Boy (I cry from beginning to end) Love Greer Garson's voice as narrator. I watch them with my 19 month old grandson now. It's a Christmas tradition. It's my favorite thing about the holidays.

This has really struck a big chord.. as many of your other videos with all the wonderful, talented and beautiful people that are no longer with us... but we continue to love and enjoy their work.... Thank You.... Huge WOW from me!!
As a 46 year old Australian male, I grew up with soooo many of these wonderful movies and songs....ahhh the memories...
Just quietly... the Ladies of the 30's, 40's and 50's were soooo beautiful... Judy Garland had my heart when I was 6 years old...!!!
I wouldn't know where to start with how you do your research Arthur.. but, You!!, Are absolute top notch...
This channel is one very guilty "pleasure" I have... hate to see all the iconic people that have passed away.. but it's nice to celebrate who and what they were... and that is much more empowering!!
God Bless and Happy Holidays... and a HUGE Happy New Year In 2020 everyone!!!!

Think it all depends which generation /age you were when you first watched it, as that’s when it leaves the biggest impression on you.
Mine was Alistair Simms too...but I can’t fault the other two brilliant actors, who brought their own spin or interpretation to the story ...they were ALL excellent, but it wasn’t as scary the 2nd and 3rd time ,plus I knew what was going to happen, so as I said, the first time you see a fabulous film like that, it pins you to your seat, and your eyes riveted to the screen, and you NEVER forget where you saw it, how old you were etc etc..
It stays in your head. 👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💐❤️

    • @mangot589

@@helencheadle5285 I think Alister Sims was fine. I guess I don’t like the way it ended. What with all the toys and stuff. And the job for his nephew, etc. I actually like all of the actors, but I like the MOVIE that stays the closest to the book. But I watch all of them, every Christmas, even the made for TV ones. I love them all, Disney ones, Ebby ones, any one I can find lol. its starting to be a tradition at our house. But Patrick is my fav.

    • @celiagorleski2716
      @celiagorleski2716 4 роки тому +3

@@helencheadle5285 I so agree. I tend to prefer most movies or songs the first time I saw or heard them. When I lived in Illinois, this version was always shown on Christmas Eve. Things changed when I moved to Texas. And we canceled cable about 15 years ago for financial reasons. I know I bought the Alisters Sims version but my world has been turned upside down for over a decade and I need to find it. They do show it on UA-cam. I actually like the Susan Lucci twist on the story where she plays Ebbie Scrooge. We're changing Christmas this year so that the only presents will be what Santa brings my grandsons who live with us. What we would have spent will go to our Disney fund. That should free up time for watching more Christmas movies. Thank you for commenting. I really enjoyed reading it.

What a pleasant surprise! Watching here on Christmas day. Just when I think you can't get any better, you pop up with a clever edition. This took a lot of work. I really appreciate your devotion to

Denver Pyle (Uncle Jesse on Dukes of Hazzard) passed away on December 25, 1997. Of course he was in a Dickens of a Christmas" a 1983 Dukes of Hazzard episode. His final resting place is in Forreston, Texas.

My absolute favorite movie version of A Christmas Carol starred Reginald Owen and the Lockhart family., made in 1938. I also love the TV version starring Mr. Magoo (voiced by Jim Backus).

The Lockharts were wonderful in their Christmas Carol movie but I think the best Scrooge movie stars the very interesting Scottish actor, Allistair Sims. He just IS Ebenezer.
And, at my number 2, I totally agree with you is Mr. Magoo's version, with the voice of Jim Backus. The emotions and the themes are all there and the music score is absolutely fantastic. The ballad performed by Ebenezer's lost love is hauntingly beautiful and never fails to bring tears to my eyes. Unfortunately, many of the recordings of this classic are out of order and/or missing scenes. They are still worth watching.
And, I so miss the variety shows that always had a Christmas themed show or special, many of their stars mentioned in this video - Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, Bing Crosby, Andy Williams, Perry Como, Nat King Cole.
