You’re so right about Dansko’s. I tried them on in store and loved them. Bought a cute cheetah pair. Wore them on my first 12-hour shift and 2 hours in, alarm bells are going off in my head like no no no..why are my hips hurting? Why are my heels hurting? Why are my feet hurting?! They were horrible! Never again. Alegria clogs are THE BEST in the whole world. I know they’re expensive but they will last you a lifetime cause you can change out the foot beds when they wear out. The comfort is unmatched and I have zero pain in my body after long shifts.
Hoka seems to be a niche shoe for runners because I didn’t even know they existed until I started running . Not a nurse but I have Hoka Bondi X. They are like clouds on my feet. Great video!
I think so. I heard about them from my hairdresser when I had issues from running. They are worth every penny.
From the little research I did, I found out that the Bondi 7 line are not slip resistant on water or oil. The Bondi SR are designed specifically for use in the medical field. I work in the mechanical field where I encounter some oily surfaces. I had just purchased a pair of Bondi 7s, I going to return those and get a pair of Bondi SRs. Just a heads up.
I finally received my SRs, they are awesome! They comfortable. Just enough arch support. Lightweight. The only thing, the only thing, it came at a size 11 (small). So, I don’t know if it’s common with HOKAs, for sizes to run on the small side, but mine were. I’m not saying, I couldn’t wear them, it’s still a comfortable fit, just a little less room at the toe. I like them!
Thank you for this comment! Imma try them!
Neria Crocs have more shock absorption esp during heel strike. That one you have im down to my 4th pair. Wide and comfortable. Great REVIEW! ⭐
I’m not a nurse but I just had hardware removal surgery on my right foot from a previous fracture and I’ve heard hokas may be the best for me so I was just watching videos on them and you are so entertaining and cute!! Thanks for the review, i went ahead and bought the bondi 7
I was wearing croc but tried barefoot style and world of a difference, I am wearing the Hykes Pinnacle and feet feel so much healthier. I will never go back to regular restricted shoes.
This video was soooo helpful. I was literally looking into both shoes the other day (which is probably why your video popped up on my feed). Thank you for being so thorough!
You're so welcome! I alternate wearing them, but have been leaning toward the hokas as of late because I've been on my feet for a consistent 12 hours every day. You can't go wrong with either. Thanks for watching and for your support of my channel :)
I had all kinds of problems, from a torn Achilles, wide feet, my ankles would roll inward. I usually don't buy expensive shoes. I would recommend Hoka shoes to anyone. I work were the floors are concrete, best shoe.
I have 3 pairs of Hoka Bondi. Two Bondi 6 and one 7. My first pair were life changing. I can't even describe what it was like to walk in them the first time. Like clouds that had springs in them. The only thing I hate is when I have to try to put paper booties over them to go into some parts of the hospital. It is SO HARD to get the paper over them.
I got those crocs. I'm started nursing school in the fall. I have always loved crocs. I wore them when I used to work as a vet assistant.
thanks for the video ! super helpful, I was debating on getting HOKAS and now I’m going to commit and get them :)
Just upgraded to Hoka Bondi 7’s from wearing Fila and you’re right they’re so comfortable
Yeeesssss!! Glad you like them :)
Awesome video! Personally love wearing my birki’s, sometimes on-clouds too. Of course, be sure to get something that is comfy and waterproof.
Great video! Just unboxed new pair and reviewed the bindi 7’s I’ve been wearing for a year. Sharing in case you or anyone else watching is interested ❤️
Hoka my favorite brand if sneakers for life
super helpful, I always wear brooks but I am thinking of trying these, thanks for the review
Thanks so much for this video you're awesome very detailed and straight to the point I've subscribed ♥️♥️
Thank you so much for your support of my channel! ❤️
Cayla! 😃 this video was perfection 🙌🏽😁💕 I’m a Brooks girl who bought Hokas yesterday. My feet hurt the most after standing for long shifts and I was hoping to get a review from a nurse 👩🏼⚕️ because my mom is one and loved the shoes she wears to work. Though I’m not a nurse, your review was spot on! I was given an option at Dick’s Sporting Goods for Brooks or Hokas. I wanted to try something new. You have me looking forward to trying them out at work today! 😁🙌🏽💓
Yay!! Thank you so much for your support and the positive feedback! I hope you LOVE your new hokas ❤️
I'm a nurse. Take Pt's to and from procedures in a 10 hr shift. Average 5-7 miles a day. Had the Hoka Clifton 6, best shoe ever. After a year I needed new shoes. Clifton 6 was no more. Clifton 6 was out now. Worse shoe ever. I was really disappointed. Why can't companies stick with what works instead of redesigning their product? Went bake to Nike's.
Never understood why companies don't continue producing popular items. Makes no sense, but the Bondi 7s are great. Highly recommend.
@@travelnursecayla I just tried the Bondi 8 at the store earlier today, they are not comfortable.
@@rabmakz2564 I didn't even know they made a Bondi 8. The Bondi 7 is very comfortable, so I can't speak to the 8's :/
Hoka's don't dissapoint
I bought one pair of Dansko because so many nurses wore them. I tried several times but I can't wear them. My foot slides down and my toes hurt and go numb. I have been happy with my Birks Clogs for over 20 years.
I love my Hokas and I prefer the Bondi 7 to the Bondi 8.
now you can get the bondi SR which was made for us medical professionals, has a slip proof sole
Good to know!
Thanks for posting. Helped me make a decision
You're welcome :)
I've worked fast food for about 6 yrs and all this time I've been buying no good not very comfortable Wmart "non-slip" shoes and although yes they're non slip they are NOT the most comfortable shoe.... It was my first job tho and I was 6 yrs younger at the time so I kind of figured that ya know it was meant to be uncomfortable considering the standing for how many hrs/walking around so I thought I had to tough it out. Now that I'm a few yrs older I truly believe that I've just been buying bare minimum on shoes and I still want shoes that don't break the bank BUT I'm starting to think there are definitely shoes out there I need to explore that's not just confined to Wmart to help save my feet, ankles, calves, legs in general ect... I hate coming home some days and when I attempt to do a 9 hr shift come home hobbling from car to house cuz my legs and feet are just aching/sore. It's not fun when shoes ruin your feet/mood. I'm trying to look into all these work shoes meant for standing hoping I find something I'm willing to try. Thanks for vid :)
Hoka new balance asaics best for 12 hrsor doubles
OMG I heard Dartmouth! Go Green!
Love my crocs and have several pair! I wish their were no holes so I can go hiking with them so no branches poke through. Because I have osteoarthritis and plantar fasciitis/ heel spurs I was suggested to get bondi 7, so glad I came across your video! I need a good sneaker for long walks or walking my dog. Going to try them out. Thank you!
I was thinking about getting Hoka all black Shoes for Work
Do iittt! They're comfy. Worth the investment :)
Hoka SR I wear them for 2 days. Not for me. Not recommend to flat foot
TFS ❤
Hoka for sure 👍
I just returned my Hoka shoes. Sadly for me, the shape of these shoes does not work for my foot. I need more square toe boxes. The way these narrow and point towards the side of the big toe makes them squish my smaller two toes on my left foot until they are very painful. I either need size very wide or a toe box that is straighter and not pointy veering to one side. I really wanted them to be the answer to my foot pain (plantar fascitis symptoms after Skecher foamies croc-clog style shoes)...
Oh no, I'm sorry to hear they didn't work for you :( I hope you can find the right kind of shoes that can help alleviate your foot pain ❤️
I have wide feet and found the Bondi line in wide doesn't squish my toes like so many other shoes did. There's actually room for the toes to spread. Other Hoka shoes have different shapes while the Bondi seems to be designed for wider feet in general, with the wide option especially wide.
I have wide feet so also need a wider toe box. You may want to try the Hoka Gaviota 4. I was skeptical thinking the Gaviota 4 would be too narrow, they're perfect. As they say on the website they're stable and plush. I noticed the Gaviota's are more stable than the Bondi's, but both plush with good ankle support.
@@judithyamamoto9424 the Gaviota 4s are what I returned. And I had gotten them in wide size. My last 2 toes on either foot hurt a lot at end of shift.
I have been concerned that hokas will feel heavy! Would love to hear peoples reviews on the weight.
I’m a nursing student starting in fall, got the hoka bondi leather shoe.
They're surprisingly lightweight. I'd suggest testing some out in a shoe store to get a feel for them. They feel lighter than my croc clogs. Hopefully that helps.
I am an RN. I wear Hokas....I never slipped or anything. Only advantage cross would have to me would be the are plastic type material that would wipe clean easier. I always hated them because I like my shoes to stay on...wierd I know. Oh... they felt super light too.
I agree about the danskos. So uncomfortable
Try sr version
Oh and I’m 5’2” so petite pants are almost always too short! Such a pain! Same with shorts. So I head to the Womens section and hem them by an inch or so. Thanks again for the helpful video 👍
I buy inserts for everything.
I've transitioned to this habit as well! Really saves your shoes and ensures comfortability
Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!! I only wear New Balance running shoes and love them. Have been using them for a few years now. I’ve been trying to get some Crocs but I’m not too convinced. A female coworker of mine has been wearing Hokas for about 3 years now. She swears they’re the best shoes for her. She’s 54 and has minor foot problems. I want to get some shoes strictly for work but I always end up wearing them casually. I need a pair of shoes that will keep me comfortable for 10-12 hr straight. Honest opinion, do you recommend the Hokas over the Crocs? For some reason, after watching so many different reviews, I sense credibility from you.
Thank you!
Hi! Sorry for the late reply and thank you for the support :) If you aren't convinced on the crocs, I'd highly suggest the hokas!! In all honesty, I think the crocs are better for maybe 8 hours of standing on your feet. Hokas will give you all day comfort for 12 hours no problem. If you want to keep them clean (because they're expensive and nice) you could always wear shoe covers. They're cheap for a 100 pack on Amazon. But, they're worth every penny. Let me know how else I can help you or if you have any more questions.
@@travelnursecayla no worries, thank you. I ended up ordering the Hoka Bondi 7. I used to wear regular Crocs every now and then but not for work. I noticed that after a few hours, my feet would hurt. I’m excited and nervous to wear them. I just recently bought Snibbs and hated them. I bought the white ones and they turned ugly beige. I’ve tried cleaning them but nothing will bring back the white color. I appreciate your help!!!
@@mannyalaniz926 hey, happy to help! I think you'll really like the hokas and your feet and back will thank you :)
@@travelnursecayla thank you!!!
I have been looking into hokas
I highly recommend the bondi 7. I believe those are their bestsellers. Sorry for the delayed reply. Thanks for watching!
Im starting nursing school and very concerned about being on my feet 12 hours. Do these make your feet super stinky?
They do not! I have another review video coming out here soon with another shoe option for you! Stay tuned!
Team hoka
Is there any hoka with out the ties, I hate tying shoes
I don’t like dansko either very hard and uncomfortable. Way too expensive for no reason. Not worth it.
Hello, love your video but What kind of Hoka do I buy? walking or all day comfort for 12hr shift CNA. Thanks in advance!
Hoka Bondi 7 is still my recommendation for hokas in general. There is a Bondi 8 now, but my vote still goes to the 7.
Good. I'll get hoka's. Let us see
Where did you get the scrubs you're wearing in the video?
They're sanibel sands brand. I got them at my local uniform city about 6 years ago.
Do they run true to size 🤔I wear 11 1/2 on Nike,Jordans and Adidas so is 11 1/2 a Perfect size or should I get size 12?
I wear between a 7.5-8 tennis shoe depending on how the shoe is cut. I found upping to the 8 to be the best fit. Not too tight, not too loose. If you have access to an actual store with them to try on, that'd be your best bet for getting the sizing right, but I found going with the 1/2 size up worked best for me and my ex did as well.
Can you put your own insoles in them or is it their insoles that make them comfortable?
You can absolutely put insoles in them! The hoka ones are perfect as-is. The insoles make them super comfortable. The crocs ones almost need an Insole. They have a squishy one, but it wears out too fast.
hi! Have you thought about or tried Clove shoes?
I haven't! But I've heard of them. How do you like them? Are they as comfortable as hokas? What's you opinion?
I’m not a fan..they got me through nursing school but not a whole lot of support
Isn't the breathable mesh a problem in the hospital? Or does it not matter because you wear booties over them?
That's a good question. It isn't an issue for hospital policy. It's more of a personal preference. I wear the booties over everything, so it's a non-issue that way. Pre-COVID I always wore regular tennis shoes and had various bodily fluids spilled, thrown, etc. at me and I didn't have issues with them seeping through to my socks or anything. I think it just depends on the shoe's construction and durability in regard to how well it'll hold up and not absorb fluids.
I like your gray long hair...see you around
Thank you!!
What color are those Hokas? Thanks!
Lunar rock!
Have you tried Oofus?
I have not. I don't know much about them.
Is this shoes a waterproof
The crocs repel water, the Hokas do not
Do the shoes run big or small?
They run true to size! I'd suggest trying some on in a store, if you're able to, if you're planning on buying online.
Danskos are SO uncomfortable!
