my favourite spiderman is miles, he means so much to me because it was one of the first times i saw a character who looked liked me who wasnt the villain, a stereotype or whos story didnt revolve around their oppression. in a way, i got to see myself being a hero

I don't have an intense connection with Spiderman, but there is a sense of nostalgia I get from it because my cousin (who I was very close to growing up) owned a couple of Spiderman action figures that we'd play with when we were little.

I love the mantle and cape-sleeve (cleeves... slapes?) especially! It makes me want to try something butterfly/ dragonfly inspired with the wing-like shapes it makes. I had always liked Spiderman, but Spiderverse is what made me love the character and appreciate his stories. Still need to go back and watch the original trilogy.
Spiderman was my #1 superhero growing up, Peter always seemed so relatable when all the other heroes were just too larger then life. He was definitely a role model for me to be a better, kinder person and I still remember being excited for every new release in the original trilogy! There's no shame in being attached and emotional over these movies, they deserve them. As corny as they could be sometimes they had a lot of deep moments too, and while I'm sure not everyone would agree with me here I personally don't think one detracts from the other. This was a wonderful tribute and I think you should be proud of yourself for how this turned out! I'm especially fond of the skirt, it having all those panels was absolutely worth it with the way it revealed more colors as you turned! And the stitching for the boning looked really neat, I love that you expanded it onto the sides of the bodice too, even though I'm sure it was a lot of extra work. I love all your videos but this one was especially sweet, I'm glad you shared how much Spiderman means to you with all of us!

Spider-Man means not having to be the “perfect” hero, and getting to see a young person make mistakes, learn from them, and use mistakes to be a better person after struggling with them. It’s cool to see a hero that consistently messes up and struggles with that instead of it always having to be explained away.
For me, the Raimi films were essentially the first marvel hero movies I ever saw, before I ever laid eyes on the xmen films and long before the Ironman movie was ever even announced. I guess there was just something about a dork being able to become a hero despite the torment of heroism just kinda inspired me, I guess. Definitely shaped who I wanted to be growing up.
This is an amazing dress. It definitely has Spiderman vibes but is so elegant. My son walked past and whistled in appreciation he liked it so much. So his compliments are added to mine. This dress looks fantastic on you.
I rly don't wanna lecture anyone or whatever, but genuinely, using some water in a spray bottle or as a steam function on the iron, will make the garment look better and crisper, and neater

I love structure too! I just watched an awesome video on corset bodies (like a bodysuit and a corset in one) by Minji Lee and it was so amazing! Highly recommend!
Little handy dandy sewing tip: if you want your lining to stay neatly on the inside, without it creeping over the edge and showing on the outside of the garment, you should look into understitching! I have a love-hate relationship with this technique, as it is super tedious to do, but the result is chef's kiss❤ Tho I understand you leaving it out when you put a whole ass GOWN together in like 4 days hot damn

For me, spider is a challenge, Atleast art wise. My style is very based on silhouette and facial detail, I’m really bad at thinking of cool outfit, or Atleast dynamic ones. Even though Spider-Man has a very iconic silhouette, I cannot for the life of me draw him, I don’t even have a spidersona. It’s ridiculous and aggravating. But hopefully one day I will get over this spider block bc I am very obsessed with Spider-Man. He is my bane and my reason to life
