A very admirable automobile, Just saddens me why distronic plus is still an add on in 2017 yet standard in a 2017 Toyota Corolla for 18k....
+1. .. In addition to the optional Distronic feature is the Acoustic option and the Air suspension. .. Wow, drove a E220 gaser in Germany and that puppy was silent; Library quiet. .. Here, there, bring money for the E400 Kombi with desired packages and options. .. $83,000 USD

I miss the Ponton Flair in the rear fenders, it made the 2011-13 wagons stand out.
It is a bit confusing as the older model is the generation that came out in 2009 but then oddly for Mercedes it had a complete new front end design sometime around 2014. They sort of gave it a copy of the front of he new 2017 car, which must have been on the drawing board at that time. I think the E class was looking old as the newer C class was already around with then new shape.
So the 2016 looks a bit like the 2017 but really is much older model and lacks much of the tec of the 2017. I am in the UK and the 2017 got the new range of engines too which are far better.
The 17 has a nice flowing design while the 16 has very sharp angles all over it and looks a bit dated.
Go for the 17 every time as the older model in most brands should be much cheaper but with MB they do not seem much different.
I have found the 2016 model about 10 - 20k cheaper than the 2017 model. I feel like I might regret buying it for the same reasons you mentioned. I'm torn

I would go for a 17 but with a few more miles than you were aiming at. You can see them looking like new on 250k. I bought a 17 that was 6 years old and on 85k and it was a fair bit cheaper. Only biggie is the gearbox service at about 90k.
The difference is so miniscule that it's impossible for an untrained eye to detect......the change is too tiny to be statistically significant.......

Jessie, GREAT review and camera work, very steady and well done.. One bit of advice worth considering... It is when filming a comparo between two similar models, line the cars up mirror to mirror, on the same line of longitude (NOT at an angle).. This will help illuminate and identify any size, shape, design differences that may exist.. AND in the case of these two cars there is a significant difference in overall length, height and wheelbase.. (between the 16' and 17' E class wagon) :-)

BMW should learn from this not sticking with the same interior for a decade BMW fan boys this is what we call innovation I can never drive a BMW because of the what they just showed in this video
The BMW interiors always feel very basic to me.

+1. .. Nice job (if not to disparage the model 2016) The new E-Class kombi is a huge jump forward when compared to the model year 2016. Will the model year 2019 bring new paint finish colours??
Thanks for watching! I would love to answer your color questions but since you spelled it "colour" I am guessing you are not in the US market. I don't know the colors for other markets.
Right here in the good ole USA. Actually, IIRC the MB color pallet is worldwide with minor exceptions. We're in Cumming, GA USA
Well then, for an American you spell color funny! No new colours for the E-Class this year. White, black and silver x2 plus Lunar Blue and Cardinal Red.

not currently. The 19s are at the port just waiting for the US release date. We sold out the 18s and don't currently have any pre-owned.
