bro stop complaining about food pics, it defaults to ultrawide and they wont look like that unless you force it to use the main cam + you have a dedicated food mode that looks astonishing
You can see difference in phone vs cam bcoz of focal length use in the camera, has narrower background and adjustable aperture that gives pretty smooth out of focus/bokeh bg than the phone.

I'd like to see someone do a technical analysis of the camera because from some of those pictures it looks like the lens may have a significant field curvature problem - and if so, it will drive some people crazy

I've seen the camera's photo quality from GSMArena review. The ZEISS mode is an absolute peach. It's way more natural and realistic than the standard mode. Even the Dimensity 9200 chipset is a worthy fighter to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, especially for the GPU. Definitely in my wish list.

To compare a diffrent camera/lens should match the setting it used. eg shutter speed, aperture etc
What I find crazy is that I see photographers for weddings and a lot of their footage are done with smartphones and the end result with editing looks top class. It's mental how far camera quality has come on phones.

It's true but for professional photographer the HDR is too much. Looks unnatural especially the light exposures shadows highlights contrasts and the important is subject separation depth through different focal length

the shallow depth of field is an advantage, not a disadvantage for photographers like myself who are used to working with big aperture lenses. This is the sort of breakthrough in phone camera technology that we have been waiting for, and one of the main reasons I am not tempted by the S23U. Well done Vivo, but shame on you for keeping the x90 pro+ China exclusive!!!

the xiaomi 13 pro has the same 1" sensor and it is available in america & eu (it also has a better tele lens which can capture amazing close-up shots).
i totally get your point with the dof, i'm a hobbyist photographer and object isolation / small sensors is one of my main gripes when it comes to phone photography.
Just small thing for comparing with camera - please try next time with same focal length. Vivo is around 23mm, and lens from the camera looks more like 35. Anyways, great material. :)
On your opinion Is X80 pro night shot are same with x90 pro?
That portrait mode on non human or animal subject is convincing LoL. But if you like heavily tuned HDR results you may like it.

what lense are you using on the larger camera? looks like a different focal length than the x90. that makes the comparison a bit flawed. I appreciate the video regardless tho. love my x90, it's by far the best phone camera I've ever used ♥️
Hey man, appreciate the comments. I was using a 35mm. I don't have a lens that matches exactly the focal length of the X90 Pro. Also, there are a lot of things that could have been tweaked such as aperture on either the cam/X90 Pro but I was trying my best with what I had. I'll definitely try to improve my comparisons in future.

2:26 the blur has to be there, it's a positive thing if you know to use it and the main advantage of a big sensor.
it's an awesome phone camera but it can't beat an actual camera mainly due to the missing objective zoom capability.
on my canon g5x2 i can use the 1" sensor even when i zoom in, which results in a crazy looking bokeh.

DOF is not a weakness. User can always control the dof. Using different focal length lens sure can’t compare like that …
X90 pro is a beast, I wonder if the X90 Pro Plus can do even better
The larger Bokeh effect isn't due to the 1 inch sensor but the choice of aperture their lens use, Otherwise, if according to what you have said that full sharpness with 1 inch sensor is impossible, then all the full frame DSLR camera will never get a sharp image as well, which isn't true as long as you turn up aperture or change to a higher aperture lens.
I think when he says it cannot have full sharpness it is because the font lens element is smaller than the sensor - something you never have in 'normal' cameras.

Which is better between Vivo x80 pro and Vivo x90 pro?
I think it's more rational to compare based on the price. So if the x90 is like 900$, then it should be compared with a somewhat new camera/lens model combo totalling that price. Further, the contest should include low light performance without a tripod because this is a kew feature
How long the camera can still take clear picture after many years? Used my vivo many years, the camera quality fr Vivo Y reduced after 1 year. I wonder will this be the case for this new Vivo? The DoF is not due to sensor size, but to the F-stop. Oh well, it's not a technical review so can't expect much.
with the x90 pro you really should lower the exposure pretty much with every shot you take imo. it over exposes the darks. once you drop the exposure your shots will be much better.
All pictures were taken in auto mode to ensure consistency across various environments.
@@LimReviews I can totally see why you did that Lim. you sort of have to I guess. still, your x90 photos can get closer to real camera exposure quality by lowering it. most reviewers use auto but sadly it doesn't show the extent of the x90's ability.
@@falk3nn It is the same with most flagships; if you tinker in pro mode, you get better photos, which makes comparisons moot. So by using the auto mode, we get a baseline of how these take photos for non-pro photographers.

no smartphone can replace even a 15 year old DSLR, it's just how it is. love all improvements throughout the years though! Now I don't "have" to bring my Nikon anymore, it's just so effortless to be able to snap photos here and there then print out when I come home on my better/thicker printing paper 😊

try a few shots to challenge the dynamic range, u will see the camera being killed by all new flagship smartphones. it is in difficult situations that the processing power of a smartphone proves miles ahead of a real camera. it is in those conditions u get perfectly fine photos with the smartphone but delete the shots on the camera right away.
Upload HDR video please. So we can see if it beats real camera

I think there is something wrong with your night mode, I have the x90 pro plus and my night mode does not look very saturated like yours.
I have 2 X90 Pros and both produces the same results. All pics were exported directly off the phone with no edits done. Btw nice profile name!
Mediatek gets weak after a long period of usage (1-1.5 years), but then again if it includes SD8G2 and the price can compete with iPhone Pros.

X90pro plus is getting much better photos than the X90pro in reviews. I wonder if this also applies to the main camera (same sensor and both with v2 chip) or only for the other cameras. There's no review comparing both. The hardware downgrade compared to x90pp made me not order this phone.

You're bashing the X90 Pro low light performance but you dont realize that there are no phones out there that can take better night pictures than this X90 Pro / Plus version. I had seen plenty of reviews, everytime when the night came vivo performed better than the other smartphones.. in daylight, its 50/50. But night time, vivo is the better shooter and with better consistency
