- OriginOS is Vivo's China-only software, and I quite like it. I think it's vastly superior to FunTouch, which is the software Vivo launches internationally.

They really should release OriginOS in more countries, it seems way better than FuntouchOS
They wouldn’t release the Origin OS in other countries because those countries would strip CCPs spyware out of the software.
Even globally, just add some languages to perfect it and that's it, many people will love it over funtouch os, and then maybe in the future add 3/4 years of updates like samsung do

It's not. It breaks a lot of Google functionalities. Funtouch is quite OK.
I have a X80 pro with Origin...if anyone wants to swap for a Funtouch, I'll do it in a snap!

The interactive widgets are really great! The level of customization and animation is crazy good👍. OriginOS should definitely get a more global release.

I live in the UK and I have orgin os on the vivo x60 pro plus (I bought the Chinese version) It's by far the best UI I've used by a longshot it has the best of Iphone and other android UI's all together in one Os definitely the best experience I've had on a phone. Living in the UK there isn't much restrictions on the customization so you're not missing out on much, there are widgets for non stock apps that are customizable (like Gmail, Whatsapp, Spotify, PayPal ect.) which is cool. My advice is if you want the best experience it's worth picking up the Chinese version if it works in your country.
So you speak Chinese? Just picked up a Chinese vivo x90 and a little daunted by all the Chinese apps, which I thought would be in English once English is set for primary language, but no, even the user manual is in Chinese. So how do you use the OS3 then?
@@crawnorris97even if you set the language in English some apps will still be in Chinese and those are more often made for the Chinese market, you can uninstall them or disable them since you're not going to use them anyway. The manual will also be in Chinese but who actually reads the manual?
So they took some design from IOS and the usability of OneUI and just made it better. Nice job Vivo.

Ben did a fantastic showcase of originOS which is quite far & few by other reviewers. Pls do more of such review as it help audiences like us to make an educated decision whether to buy Chinese phone with their original OS rather than a international OS that might not get frequent updates. This is why I always import my Vivo phones from China rather than buying the global versions, despite me living in the USA. Origin OS 3 is so nice on my Vivo X Note!!

I guess if you can read Chinese it's OK. What bothers me about Origin OS is it breaks many Google features, like OK Google, Android Auto, find my phone and finicky notifications overall.

I remember when OriginOS was first announced, I was excited with seemingly unlimited features. And after a while, deep sigh that it is limited to China only. Do you think it will reach international one day with it?
If Vivo will ditched the Funtouch OS. But I do with atleast Vivo will release the OriginOS and rebranded it as Funtouch OS.

Xiaomi had similar features on global ROM for like 2 years now. But this is much improved.

Hi. Trying to research whether I should get an Origin OS version of the X100 Pro. I can't find much info about whether it will work with Google Pay, or whether the app grid size is customisable.

Only thing I want is Spotify support on Origin Player, it works with Funtouch so hopefully...
also only international version or the ones with Funtouch is going to be only India version so... I'll buy CN version any week of the day for the sake of the price and especially for the OS.

I absolutely LOVE this phone. It's my first ever high spec phones. I can play demanding games no problem and everything I could ever want in a phone. I'm a loyal fan of Vivo, Xiaomi, Pocco, and Huawei. They're such good phones for lesser prices but with high specs

finally got my vivo x90 pro plus here in Canada... yes no Android Auto nor Google Assistant. But I really like Origin OS. It's so customizable in terms of folders, nanokits, app and folder shapes, etc. I really like it.... don't even need Nova Launcher.
I really hope you can do a video dedicated to the details on experiencing the OriginOS on Vivo X90 Pro+, definitely including how to install reliably Google Play Store apk to the phone, especially the issues and warnings after that. Will the Google system get normal notifications of system and apps updates? It's only a one time job? And most people also concern whether push notifications work normally for popular apps such as Whatsapp and Yahoo Messengers. If there is issue, is there a way to solve?

look forward to the oneplus 11 review. maybe even make a comparison between oneplus 11 and find x5pro because their prices are almost the same now. it's weird you don't often see people complaining about snapdragon 8gen1 on youtube but that soc is notorious among Chinese bloggers due to its low power efficiency.

The OriginOS widgets are insane when compared to FuntouchOS. Hopefully Vivo will release it globally soon in later future updates. People will buy more globally if they'll release OriginOs globally!

Here are my pro and cons that no youtuber will tell you for vivo x90 pro+ after using it for 1 week and coming from a p40 pro, can't go back to huawei because of google services.
Cons:
-there are still chinese menu here and there but can be avoided
-to enable find my device i had to use a china vpn and on their website it finds the phone but doesn't display it on the map,i can install google find my device but that doesn't work after reboot(before the unlock) unlike vivo native find my phone and it doesn't automatically enable location as vivo find my phone does
also if you remotely erase it with vivo app or google app, the phone is good to go for the theif, activation lock kicks in only if you hard reset it via recovery mode which sucks. On huawei you could even locate the phone even after remotely wiping it and you still couldn't boot it without a huawei account.|
the function to keep the screen turned on when looking on it definitely works better than on a samsung, is usuable but huawei knew if you look at the screen even if your face was partially pointed at the screen, vivo screen just stays on even if you are not looking as long as long as it can detect your face.
-don't like that on ultra power saving mode fingerprint is disabled, not everybody uses a 4 digit pin, huawei left the fp enabled but is a feature i use very rarely.
-the privacy password fingerprint should be disabled after reboot same as it does for the main screen lock, it's useless to have a complicated password if you can access your encrypted apps just by fingerprint, they need to step up their game like samsung secure folder or huawei private space which is more complete.
-I can't set alexa as default voice assistant, is some annoying jovi crap everywhere and i heard android auto doesn't work either but don't have where to test this.
-HRD on video works only on 30fps on both 4k and 1080p but only on the main cam, should have worked on all sensors and 60fps too.
-In 60fps recording mode you can't switch between sensors while recording, only in 30fps.
-I was so excited about how complex the native photo editor was just to find out soon after that the image is ruined by the ultra compression making it just 600 kb, what's the point of bragging about 1 inch sensor if your own photo editor ruins the photo? Is not stored online, i really see no point of compressing it.
Pros:
I think is the best replacement for my huawei, I was worried i had to go back to samsung but nop, is clearly ahead and i would say is on pair with huawei if you mix all the pro and cons toghether.
-HDR for the video main cam at 30fps, i compared it with my p40 pro and s22 ultra, their video hdr is almost inexistent.
-Even the secondary sensors are pretty good, 10x optical on a s22 ultra looks wors than hybrid zoom from vivo and in lower light the difference is even bigger not to mention samsung between zoom ranges is unusable, a lot of youtuber fail to mention that if you zoom at 5-9x on samsung it will look like crap unlike my vivo or mate 50 pro that will look good at any range.
-Best HDR photo camera, no other phone cant' compete with its photo HDR and they look natural.
-Hands down, best fingerprint reader, large and snappy I love it.
-Very good face unlock, I'm not sure how secure it is but strangely it works better even at night unlike p40 pro who had 3d face scan, it lights up the screen to see you better, samsung's face unlock doesn't even work properly on good light, feel like they haven't updated it in over 5 years not to mention samsung's smart stay is unusable, screen turns off while looking straight on it, so annoying.
-I didin't had any problems with google, even maps history works(as i heard before it didin't on origin), google pay works etc.
-I also enjoy small things like just moving the phone a little the fingerprint scanner lights up (same as huawei does), on samsung you have to blindly put it unless you double tap the screen or raise to wake beforehand.
-Highly customizable
-Very good speakers, slightly better than samsung's and much better than my p40 pro. Brighter screen than my old huawei too.
-I like the design but I just ordered 3 cases from aliexpress, the one that comes with it, although good looking is very slippery, already dropped my phone 2 times from my pocket and doesn't have side protections.
Overall i'm really happy with my purchase and if huawei can't bring back google, my next phone will most likely still be a vivo

Does google support in china roms of phones such as iqoo, vivo unlike huawei? Or can I install global rom in china official showroom by replacing the chinese rom?
@@1manshow10 bootlocker was not unlocked, since no root available you can't install unofficially firmware unfortunately , the only downside for me now is that I can't run android auto

@@mooblink4ever899 If I had to do it over again, I would go with the global rom Vivo X90 Pro. The Pro + is a better camera system but Chinese rom can be annoying at times but still a great phone!

This is what I want to know. Can you change the Launcher, because I usually use Niagra launcher on my phones now. I think some of the features from origin are great but I know some of it would be useless stateside. It does put funtouch os kind of to shame.
Yes you can. I currently run Nova on my X80 Pro. It's not straight forward, but it's not hard.
Funtouch is much closer to stalk Google and doesn't break many Google features.

No way! Totally didn't expect the pro plus to launch globally. All indications were that it wasn't.
I think Vivo won't either because many would prefer Zeiss natural color over Oppo color, not mentioning excellent thermal design of X90 pro plus and Oppo would likely suffer heavy competition. Also, It seems Oppo is tasked with international markets while Vivo is tasked with mainland China. Their parent company wouldn't want them to fight for market shares.
Wonder at what price. They usually launch in Europe, and the X80 Pro costs an arm and a leg here, still to this day. In fact it costs as much as a 512Gb S22 Ultra if I am not mistaken. And which one do you think the European market is going to chose between those two ?

I was shocked to learn that Vivo decided not to release the x90 pro+ outside China - the only Vivo phone people want! Anyway - it means I need to import from China to the UK. I prefer Origin OS, but is there any downside? ie, is a lot of stuff in Chinese, can I remove bloatware easily etc? thanks!

I wonder if releasing a phone with two different skins doesn't make it harder to push out updates. It seems like it would.
Personally everything I've seen OriginOS is the better skin and I wish they would release it globally
It's quite a norm for chinese smartphones.
For example, OnePlus used to have HydrogenOS and OxygenOS.

I must admit there is lot of fun and cool customization options but there is one downside. Some of this features you need to download, and od you dont knows chinese you won't go far with that, for some you need to pay, or at least have chinese phone number what make it useless outside of "mainland". However X70Pro is still great phone ,but you have that feeling that you missing something good

I have it and I have to say I likt this OS but ammount of chinaese is much more that you would expect after setting it in "english" ....
they should really make it possible for the user to swap between funtouch and origin os whichever they prefer.
